This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG2Qr Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.

    1. That table is gorgeous!
    2. I love the finish you chose for it. That maple just glows.
    3. The brass dowels are a classy accent - great idea.
    4. EXCELLENT design choice in placing the drawer over the straight cut portion of the live edge shelf. Great eye for detail.
Don't feel bad about your hand tool skills. I've been working with wood for 40+ years, and my hand tool skills are sorely lacking as well. There's only one cure for that - more practice! Both of us!

Babe, I'm just a novice at best. I mean received my first table saw yet it's in the mail but I admire your work. I love your table. My wife and I are going to do that table, not the legs but we're going to bleach off the copper table. The only thing is is we want to add some resin to the top to make it really pop but fence are just a little Smokey color. I think it'll look awesome. Not that yours doesn't. I just think it needs it to be polished. Anyway, thank you for your the education that you I've received from you so far. I wish I could you know I got. I like to build that table that you have horses. You know that to go cable. I think that would be just fine for the space that I have. Anyway, I've learned a lot from you and I haven't even started yet. You and some other guys. I don't have a good memory with names. I'm 70 years old and I've got one leg so it's going to be a challenge. Anyway. I wake up in the morning do a few chores I have and I shouldn't be on the TV and watch you guys all day for about the last 3 months from morning to bedtime. So I got a lot of my head until I get all the tools I need what I think I need what I want to work with. I'm looking forward to it coming. I'm either and I'm excited and thank you for giving me that way with the day I will be watching your videos. Barry...

Beutiful finish job. Love your can do humble attitude. I have a project list of 23 things. Including a wlanut, oval dining room table. With two leaves that store inside the table.
You have inspired me to play around with different joints instead of my tried and true ones. Got me out of my box you might say.
As I need to put my car in the garage in winter. My current project isa collapsable work table that folds up and is attached to the side of table saw. So I can pull out the saw and unfold the three piece table when I am working and fold it all up and put it away. It is heavy on function and low on esthetics right now. That may change.
Mistakes are the mother of invention. Keep it up!

Awesome! thanks so much! Hopefully you can knock those 23 things off your list quickly!

The important thing is you didn't give up. You will always make mistakes, I still make them after 30 years of playing with wood. Nice table 👍

Great table. I've been needing an entry table idea to match the oak bench I'm making from 8/4, and this is perfect. Think I'll use dovetails instead of box joints, though.

One question; how's that Mitre gauge on the Dewalt table saw, have you had to make and retro fit adjustments to it? I ask as I've seen a few vids where people have had to adjust it with shims etc. I only have a Makita track saw for large stock. But looking at purchasing a Dewalt Table saw.

That spring-loaded drawer-stop is a brilliant idea. I have to do that! And the concealed runners to make the drawer look like it's just sitting in place by itself are very clever. Thank you :)

Cutting 90 degrees on really long and/or heavy boards is one of the main reasons I will never get rid of my radial arm saw. It can be a pain if you're stuck with one that won't go back to true 90 after changing to another angle (mine does after some TLC when I bought it) but being able to lay long or heavy boards flat and not wrestling with trying to balance them onto a sled is worth having one just to keep it locked at 90. That table is a very nice piece of work.

    Hey, realy nice table!
To fix gaps in box or dovetail joints you can make a small wedge and glue that in. Just use the same wood and pay attetion to the grain direction and you are good. Nobody will ever notice unless the use magnifiers :)

I have seen John Peters' videos , he is a well rounded maker . your love for brass is starting to rub off on me . I really like that drawer pull . you did a great job on the reveal (the space all around the drawer) and it was a good call to cut off the end of your first attempt at the box joint , and recut it . overall . simple and beautiful piece of furniture . wish I would have started watching you a year ago. thanks for sharing the videos .
