    It’s been off track since the mid 60’s as it has no roll hoop, which were required around 1964. F Junior cars were 1000cc or less so the car would have had a 998 A-Series, not a 1098. It looks like it has A-Series motor mounts as opposed to Ford mounts. My guess is the frame was repaired after a rear end crash or a Hewland was swapped in, replacing the original Fiat or Renault gearbox. Michael’s Vintage Racing are the Formula Junior specialists on the east coast, my money is on them loving and wanting this Cooper. Great find!

      There were 2 minimum weight limits. One for cars less than 1000cc, one for cars less than 1100cc. That means a 1098 could be legal and original.

      Thanks for your comment…like is shown in the video, the is chassis # FJ 9. There is no body number from Cooper, they didn’t do that.
