Being a Pontiac fan, loved seeing the 39, but especially the 35. Pretty rare that both had the 8 instead of the much more common 6. The 35 had the Indian maiden hood ornament (first year for hood ornament as 34 and older had outside radiator caps). The 8 had the Indian maiden, the 6 had the Indian head with the feather. It is amazing that the Indian maiden hood ornament still had the feather on top of her head and not broken off. I have a real nice 35 Indian maiden hood ornament but it is missing the feather. That 35 is about as good as a restoration candidate as you are going to find when it comes to a 35 Pontiac. I hope you can buy it.

The 66 thunderbird vinyl top has been replaced (like many have) The vinyl seam from the factory was near the edge on both sides of the roof. On this one the seam is inboard quite a ways because the vinyl was so narrow compared to factory.

Hi Bud, that orange buggy had a lot of Triumph parts on it, maybe a Triumph Herald or Spitfire with the twin carbs being factory fitted, If It was a Herald back axle the rear wheels would lean at funny angles until the car was loaded but the spitfire had a more controlled rear axle alignment, so I suggest it has a non-triumph rear axle. Now the wheels look like MGB steelies so maybe an MGB axle - who knows.. Thanks for the video

I think most of these vehicles must have come from fairly local sources. Northern Illinois is notorious for road salt damage...
But there are still a lot of savable vehicles in the group. The Pontiac is a real gem. I would prefer a regular trunk to a rumble seat, but as rare as these are you take what you can get. The shoebox Fords were nice, as was the '55 Crown Vic. Some people are going to come away from this auction very happy...and considerably poorer....

Great vid as per usual Tim, thanks. Yep you've done yourself proud. You are the best YTuber in this category with your unique tone to your voice, (kinda soothing and Bing Crosby-ish). I'm a Brit and remember back in the 70's my brother owned a Chevy er. Bel-Air left hand drive that we would cruise about the country lanes blocking the whole road going from pub to pub burring PETROL at the rate of 17 gallons to the mile. I myself owned a Mustang fastback but obviously didn't appreciate it at the time as a "chick" magnet, and couldn't quite get the hang of the left hand drive. I bet Mustie 1 would like that snub nosed beetle, it' kinda cute. Keep 'em cummins buddy, and greetings from the Isle of Wight, England

The "whatzit corner" is a Triumph but not a Herald or Spitfire engine as it is too big, although it is still a 4. I would say it is a TR 2 or 3. The dash in this "thing" has TR 2 /3 style gages and that binnacle for the minor gages is out of one of those cars.

    • @richardmaundrell4726
