The problem with fans thinking about stopping the run, if you look at the great defenses throughout NFL history that were good at Stopping the run you will find that they all had a Middle Linebacker that was considered a Run Stopper. The Patriots who had Vince WILFORK at nose tackle for half their dynasty made people believe a Big Body is needed to stop the run. The Dolphins defense was built as a press coverage cover 1 defense. They had the personnel to run a 3-3-5 Nickel Defense. That's not a RUN STOPPING DEFENSIVE SCHEME. Flores understood this fact. The Linebacker Unit is key to stopping the run game, not the secondary
🤔🤔🤔🤔 Why would I want a veteran QB who if Tua gets injured would be good enough make us an average playoff contender. When(if) Tua has a bad season or (god forbid) an injury the Dolphins would be bad enough to get a GREAT DRAFT pick to replace him if they choose to go that route. With a veteran QB like Tannehill you would be guaranteed to go 8-9 or 9-8. That wouldn't be good for the future. It makes them AVERAGE
Future cap has already been spend so this is basically the team to win with. And if tua goes down it's gonna awhile unfortunately to get the cap right and build assets

Fans thought the same thing after the Dolphins moved on from Tannehill BUT 2016-2023 is the best stretch of 7 years the dolphins have had since Marino Retired. Both Jay Feildler teams got absolutely blown out in the playoffs and the 2008 team didn't fare any better. The 2016, 2022, and 2023 Dolphins team are far and above better because the 2 QBs were better. Dolphin fans didn't appreciate Tannehill until he was gone and he shined in Tennessee. Name 1 Dolphins QB from 2000-2024 that has produced a better season than Tannehill and Tua?

Cap 4 life just because tua lost 10 pounds doesn't mean he's gonna scramble and be more mobile by very much at all. He's not that kind of qb
