My daughter has the X-T30I. It's a little small for my hands, but there are grips for people like me. I've noticed that many notable 3rd party lens makers are making lenses for Fujifilm now, like the Sigma Contemporary, which do not have an aperture ring. With lenses like that you can use the front command dial present on the X-T30II to control the aperture manually. With the X-E4 you have to find another way, since it does not have a front command dial. It might be a little easier to balance larger lenses on the X-T30MKII, necessary for sports or live events, like the 70-300.
Thanks for the insights! I know that xt30ii is small and that could be inconvinient at some point, but the main purpose would to be able to carry it around more often, so small size is fine. Still doesnt plan to shoot anything with giants like 70-300 that you mentioned :D
I have the chance to buy one of them the X-E4 or the xt-30ii but i'm very confused which of these could be the best choice because the dimension and the function are very similar
Hey, you are right these cameras are quite similar, so the main thing you need to decide is which form factor you would prefer more. Will it be comfortable for you to hold flat X-E4, as X-T30ii has small grip and also the flash.
@@ShotsByJev hi, thanks for your reply and well done for your video. I'm bit concerned about the shutter Speed, the form factor is not a problem because I'll use a case, maybe for the look the X-E4 Is the better solution, but is just my opinion 😅
Hello, thank you for your video that comes up very useful! Since I was hesitating between XE4, XT3 and XT300 II :) Which one would you recommend for street photo? Thank you :)
Had no problem with Q button at all, maybe pressed once by accident in a few months time. Although the play button is on the wrong side for me, so dedicated Fn button on top to act as Play button, so now can shoot and view images with one hand
@@ShotsByJev Lots of negative comments about the Q button location. So many have written about it so it must be a thing. Like j Evgenii.misevic writes above, I’ve never experienced this complaint using my XT30. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Well, I agree and disagree, this camera doesnt pretend to be a pro camera, it is more for casual shooting, also the price is bellow 1000$ so I dont see how it could be fit in that price as well as in this small size. I solved this issue by having XC15-45 lens with OIS
Hi Jevgenij. Thank you for this video you made. I have an XT3 but contemplating on selling/trading it and getting an XT30ii due to its compact form factor and the Classic Negative film sim. However, I'm having 2nd thoughts as I'd be losing the WR feature of the XT3. So, curiously, I was just wondering how the XT30ii held up if you had used it on dusty environments or extreme weather conditions (not that one's going to be intentional in using the XT30ii in such circumstances but just wanted to know if it could survive not being penetrated by dust particles which may cause damage within its internal components). Thank you.
Hey! Unfortunatelly I havent used my fuji in extreme conditions as it is mainly travel camera and my tripa a pretty light, but I would suggest to stick with XT3, The Classic Neg film sim is a marketing bit that makes you want a newer model, but in practice its not that crucial to have. The only area where XT30ii might be better is size, if your main complain with XT3 is the size then sure, go ahead and make a swap, for me this size is perfect for casual shootings. So it comes down to what do you need more WR or compact size and additional film sim. Hope that helps :)
@@ShotsByJev Thanks for your response. No, the size is fine. However, since I'm after that old filmic look that Classic Neg sim renders on 2019-XTrans4 cameras and up (Discovered it when I got my X100v), I was hooked and desiring to want more. While you can get that Classic Neg film sim thru either Capture One's or Lightroom's Fujilfim Color Profile, these just don't render similarly what the XTrans4 processor in-body cameras do. I don't intentionally use my camera gears in extreme weather. However, in situations where conditions may change abruptly, like the beach for instance where sudden gusts of wind may bring sea damps that may compromise non-WR bodies' sensors forming dew on them. In our country, there are lots of beaches BUT I don't frequent them. Yet, I live in a predominantly humid environment. I'll just have to see if the XT3's WR and robust build is worth sacrificing for an X-T30ii or even an XS10 (which may possess some sort of robustness as long as that hotshoe is covered: ua-cam.com/video/SsvtyBT33nA/v-deo.htmlsi=k-mgA0vpwkQSqdhy ) which both have Classic Neg on them. Maybe you have further comments? Thank you.
Got the X100F/V, XH1, XT3/4/5, XE4, XPro2, XT20/30/30ii and liked the XE4 and XT30ii most. XE4 looks sleek and is a bit more portable but I think the XT30ii is the one I’m looking for again at the moment. However, I have a GRiii street edition which might become obsolete when going for the XE4 (when paired with the 27mm). Whatever you choose, there is no wrong choise.
I bought the X-E4 in 2021 and have used it for just about every type of photography since then, street photography, events, portraiture, sports. The minimalist style was important for me but I did buy the cheaper JJC brand thumb grip and hand grip as I thought it would be more comfortable to,use. But after lots of experimenting with the grips I find them unnecessary and I don’t use them now as I think they spoil the minimalist design, not necessary for a good shooting experience and certainly makes it unnecessarily heavier. Also the thumb grip reduces access to a few buttons so it makes it a worse shooting experience. I went back to the bare body and that’s the best way to use it. I’m sure I would be happy with the X-T30ii if that’s the style I was looking for (my teenage son has the X-T200 and I think it’s similar and ok) but I like the rangefinder style for street photography
Exactly what I meant! If you buy a camera you should use it as it was designed, if you have minimalist style camera then use it that way and enjoy it as it was designed :)
Have an XE4 with both official Fuji grips and love the camera. I use it with an 18-55mm and 90mm and find the purchase I get with the grips to be exactly what I want. As far as the looks, I don't think with or without the grips has an aesthetic advantage.
I have an XT-3 and XH-2s, used to have an X100V, and have tried out the XE-4 and XT-30 (the first one). One thing I definitely miss about the X100V is the built-in flash; even though I rarely used it, it was nice to have. This is also my main complaint with the recent Ricoh GR cameras - on my GR2 I only occasionally used the flash, so I didn't think I needed it on the GR3, but I ended up really missing it. For this reason I'd probably choose the XT-30II for the built-in flash.
I own the XE4. I like it better without the grip much more sleek. Yet really nice to have grip for quick pop on the tripod. So I go with XE4 with grip.
Oh yes, forgot that the only advantage of the grips for me would be ability to attach camera to tripod without tripod plate, but then again Im not sure if I would find use for it in my use 😊
Hi, do you recommend the x-t30 ii for starting in Photography as a hobby and work? I'm obsessed on the camera's aesthetic and simulations. And what lenses do you recommend?
Yes, absolutelly recommend, I took mine with XF 27mm f2.8 lens, so I think it would be great to start out with as it is very compact. If you want a but wider and brighter lens then you can take a look at XF23mm lens, but it will be bigger
XE4 has a key feature that XT30ii doesnt have! The possibility of shooting tethered, i have a xt20 and use it both for professional and casual shooting and when i discovered that the xt20 and xt30 dont have tethering suport was a big down for me... now im looking for a xe4 or xt4
I just checked and XE4 doesnt have that option, you can tether only XT single digit models. Cause ot would be very strange to hold small camera with a wire attached, so no option for that, only remote shooting through app. If you want to teather so XT4 is your choise
Actually yes and now! For this purpose X-T3 would be too big and wont be as easy to carry around, but Im looking at used marked with idea in mind to maybe grab one for wedding season instead of one of my Sony
@@ShotsByJev wow interesting, I used dual xt4’s for wedding for a little while but ultimately moved over to Sony for a few reasons one being the dials being a pain in the ass in fast pace scenarios. I feel like unless you get a Ricoh gr you will never really have anything too compact because you will need a bag if it doesn’t fit in your pocket . I have an x100v and I have to bring a bag for a daily carry . My a7iv sits at home always .
Well, I want to have ability to interchange lenses, I had X100F but sold it because of this reason, so Ricoh wouldn’t be an option for me, but XT30ii with lets say 27mm f2.8 should fit in fanny pack, so that would be ideal without the need to carry backpack for the camera
I plan on getting the X-E4 and the reason I'd go for that over the X-T30II is the placement of a viewfinder. Especially on such a small camera, not having to shove your head into the centre of the camera (maybe getting it cramped into your hand holding the camera). Another reason is that I had the X-T20 (same body as X-T30) and while ergonomic, the build quality on that left something to be desired. The rubber peeled off on min eventually. The X-E4 seems sturdier to me. They're both great cameras though! As for adding grip and such: unless your going for incredibly small lenses, the grip won't really all all that much bulk. I won't do that with mine though, as I plan to pair it with a tiny lens (Voigtlander 27mm f2).
If you tend to shoot trough evf then maybe xe4 would be more comfortable. I shoot mostly through the screen and xt30ii is fine. Also my other work cameras has same evf placement and I never had problem with that. Regarding materials I doubt that xt30 and xe4 will have different materials used. But I do agree that both cameras are great!
Its not bad actually, once you register camera in the app, you dont need to turn connection mode on the camera each time you want to pair it, you just open the app, press connect and check if wifi conected
With X-T30ii you get more out of that package, unless you plan to vlog with it then X-E4 offers tilt up screen. I myself got X-T30ii and plan to make review video in the future
Its not always, I for example keep my X-T30II on the desk because its looks good, so when I am not shooting it can be addition to the interior. But then again, if you need camera with grips why not to buy camera that has grip in the first place?
@@ShotsByJev because a I prefer the viewfinder placement and lack of a fake prism bump as well as the flatter top of the camera and other aspects of the design. You're sort of pretending that these cameras look exactly the same except for the grip and they don't. The aesthetics are quite different. If my Nikon FM2 was my favorite looking camera I'd be more drawn to the XT-30, but I always kind of preferred my Pen FT. Also since the grip is removable I have an option of using it with or without the grip depending on the situation. You can also use the grip or other accessories as an opportunity for personal expression or customization for your needs. Custom wood/leather grip? Video cage? 3D-printed grip hiding an airtag? Leather half case? Slow going leisurely photo day and want to go more minimal? Check. Fast-paced event shoot and want the extra grip? Check. You've got a canvas for personalization and expression. The rear grip thumbs-up also really has that film lever vibe, reminds me a lot of the film lever on my Pen FT.
@@benbunch4159 well your so called prism bump on XT30ii isnt fake as it houses the flash. I just expressed my opinion, if you compare XE4 and XT30 then the first one looks better, yes, but it sacrifices in usability, as for me XE4 wasnt comfortable to hold. But for me all that nice design is wiped away with additional grips and your point of being able to remove grips sounds inconvinient as if I attach something that helps the comfort I wont be removing it. Again Im sharing my opinion. If someone likes adding grips to the camera and feel that way their XE4 looks best then good for them Im just not one of them, someone even buy colorful skins for their cameras. I prefer stock option as it was designed thats all
@@ShotsByJev Yeah I personally don't care for the look of that type of EVF and flash placement on mirrorless cameras when there's more elegant ways to do it though they do sometimes end up over-engineered. I feel like that SLR styling doesn't take advantage of what mirrorless can do. A camera can look like anything now yet we're still making ones that look like cameras. In any case it's all to taste which is subjective as you say. I'm just addressing that the grip is not the only subjective factor in the aesthetic difference of these cameras. And one of the great things about Fujifilm is you can make the choice of camera based on the form factor you like and not compromise image quality which is fantastic.
Great video, I also like how you still respond to comments after a year. I had a loaded question however, I just recently bought a lightly used X-T3, Gimbal, and ND filters, etc. for an amazing $650 locally! (my area always has insane deals) However after about a month, it seems a little big and heavy to carry throught streets, travel, etc. I posted it for sale knowing I can easily get my money back and more, and actually came across an X-T30 II with 3 lenses for $1000! Currently I have 1 singular TTArtisans 35mm 1.8. I'm wondering should I sell off the X-T3 (for a profit), and go for the X-T30ii. Besides 4k 60, dual card slot, and WR, what more do I actually lose? I do shoot video often, but not professionally. Not sure if even need 4k 60 so maybe I go X-S10 since it's also smaller and has a flip out screen, or even just go for the new X-S20? I'm honestly so torn, but at the same time I'm happy my area has so many good deals. X-S10's and X-E4's in my area are relatively cheap here too. I'd also like to add I shoot city scapes, street photography, travel photography, and the occasional sports. I just sold my Canon M50 II, which I had before this so the dials are new and pretty interesting to me, but I can also live without them.
Hey, thanks for your kind words, I appreciate that! Considering your case the biggest downside going from X-T3 to X-T30II is that when shooting 4k it can overheat over time, so it depends how much do you film and how long takes do you make. If you shoot short takes for 5 sec or so, then it might be ok, but for longer shooting there is real possibility of overheating, especially in the summer. Then I dont know if both cameras has same batteries, but X-T30ii shooting 4k drains battery pretty fast. But in return you get smaller camera that is much easier to carry around. Then besides what you have mentioned I cant come up with other differences at the moment. I think the best way for you would be to rent X-T30II for a day or go to camera store with your X-T3 and compare side by side how fast both cameras overheats shooting 4k, then you will know for sure will X-T30II recording time be enough for you or not. If you wont forget let me know what you eventually decided to stick with X-T3 or go for X-T30II.
@@ShotsByJev I was not aware at all of the overheating issues, thanks for the insight. I went and ended up buying the X-T30II, just because the deal was too good. Having both in hand, the smaller size is really intriguing. Where I live it can get quite hot so overheating might be a worry, even if I shoot about 20% video. I'm gonna go and just shoot both of them, but to be honest the future proof choice seems to be X-T30ii. The size, portability, built in flash, newer film sims, and jpegs out of camera. Overheating may be a concern, but everything else has me leaning X-T30ii. Your dedicated X-T30ii video also mentions that the X-T30ii is not a professional camera, but do you think I can eventually use it professionally? Anyway your videos helped a lot :)
Well, if you plan shoot videos like mine from Berlin then you will be fine as it wont overheat, just if you will shoot continiously for some time. Regarding that this isnt a professional camera the main point was the size. With this size it is a bit hard to work with it professionally especially if you attach bigger lens that would make the kit front heavy, but if you going to film with it, put lets say into stabilazer ir cage and overheating wont be an issue then ofcourse you will be able to do some professional work as sensor and processor is the same as in X-T4
I've been a Fuji shooter since 2016. I've tried almost all the FujiFilm cameras. They all give the same look. Paired with the right lenses & you can get similar results of the full frame look. I would recommend the Xpro 2 or XT2 with the fujicron lenses or a Fuji XH1 with the Sigma Trio. I think that would be the best bang for buck. ✌🏾
The question you asked on the grip. It’s the same reason why people buy a slim phone, or any phone for that matter, and then put a case on. Would you buy a phone with a case permanently soldered on? Maybe yes, maybe no. Thing is, diff people have diff preferences. If you hate the thought of even adding accessories to the E4, why bother even comparing it in the first place? You already have your answer. Case closed.
Well I would love to use my smartphone without the cases if it wouldnt be that fragile or I would have enoug money to replace mine everytime the screen broke
Well if you have a big nose and would be into professional photography then I guess you wouldnt be able to work with any of other camera than range finder? In this case these days you can comfortably shoot via screen instead evf, I myself use evf way less than in dslr days
Now that XE4 has been discontinued and X100V is indefinitely out of stock, there really is no dilemma anymore. You kind of have to buy the XT30ii now lol
Yes, you quite right, although there is also used marked, but with all the hype the prices are too high, even X-T30II now costs more than year ago when I bought it
@@ShotsByJev If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay for xt30ii? Here in India, just the body is costing around 900 in US dollars. I’m planning to get a 27mm pancake lens with that. Do you have any suggestions as to what will be the most appropriate buy for me considering I’m a complete beginner?
@@ananyashree9358 If I remember correctly I bought X-T30II last year for 768€ or something like that, I also have 27mm lens and XC15-45, but I find myself use zoom lens more often on sunny days as it more versatile but in return has darker aperture than 27mm lens
I have the xt-30 in my opinion a better option of the two cameras, I like the view finder, and size of the camera, the sensor is excellent, its only my opinion but for me the xt-30 works for me any smaller becomes a issue for me my hands size.......
I have a xt20 and i''ve been waiting for an xt40/50 for years now. My biggest issue is the auto-focus. It's pretty terrible on the xt20, and waiting has made me want to jump to the xt5 but i'm not looking to increase the size of my setup.
Yeah, I see from time to time good deals on used X-T3 or X-T4 but dont actually want to buy them as they are just bigger than my X-T30ii and are more like for work
The XT-30 / XT-30 II and XE4 are fantastic cameras. The ergonomics and fact that fuji removed so much physical tactile buttons functions from the XE4 makes it almost un-usable for me. It's not fun having to go through setting and menues to change functions on the fly even with assigning touch screen shortcuts. The XT30/II are just overall better camera designs IMO.
Yeah! I hope that all the hype fore X-E4 are because of resemblance with X100V that are very popular now and that its only online as in real life I dont see rational reason to but X-E4 over X-T30II. Unless you need that flip up screen, that would be the only reason to buy X-E4. Wish there would be more difference between those two cameras
As some one who owned the xe4 multiple times you almost need the thumb grip at minimum. Even with the smaller lenses. Unless maybe you use a wrist strap. If you are using bigger lenses then you absolutely need a handgrip, especially if you’re maybe using it outside and your hand starts sweating. I’m not a fan of the xt30. I got tired of the x100v, the best small camera that Fuji makes is the xs10. It has built in flash, flip screen, great grip, and ibis.
Well, thanks to its grip Xs10 isnt that small anymore, I imagine it somewhat similar to Sony A7 III in size. So if you dont need as compact camera, thes Xs10 is good, but I wanted camera that would be smaller than my A7 IIi
@@ShotsByJev XS10 has IBIS. Full stop. The smaller size and weight compared to XH or XT4/5 and better video features make an XS10 a body to consider. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Had the xt20 and the xe4. xe4 with the thumb rest is way more comfortable to hold. Also had an additional grip but I never used it the additional buttons and dials are nice, but I didn't need them. Xe4 is pure minimalism. That's what the buyers want.
Well, if you want minimalism then you should stick without thumb grip as it becomes not as minimalistic. Anyways its all comes down to each one preferences :)
Regarding your comments about grips being unnecessary. There are two reasons for me to have the grip. 1. The stupid location of the tripod mount which is off set and is too close to the battery door so when the camera is on the tripod, changing the battery is impossible without removing the camera from the tripod This makes panoramic 📸 photography impossible. A grip resolves this. 2. A off set tripod mount also means that the camera is very difficult ro set up correctly for panoramic photos 📸. A grip resolves this issue by relocating the tripod mount to a central location
Well, your case is different and specific, but from my point of view X-E4 and X-T30ii are pretty much the same, only X-T30ii is more functional and X-E4 is better looking, so thats why I dont understand those who also choose X-E4 because of the looks and then add grips because it is not comfortable to hold. Then why not to look at the camera with grip at the first place
@@ShotsByJev because the grip doesn’t compromise the look. A prism bump on a mirrorless is silly. I like the squared off look. Further the grip is helpful for me as I only use a wrist strap, no neck strap. But mine came with the grip, I don’t know that I would’ve ordered one. But I’ve made some good use of the space between the battery door and the bottom of a grip by sticking a filed down airtag in there. The black camera with the grips looks pretty minimal. I don’t love it on silver.
Well if the body is to small for you then just don’t buy it! There is enough models with bigger grips like X-S or X-H series, plenty to choose from, but it seems that it is easier to follow the hype train, buy flat X-E4 and the realise that behind that hype it isnt that comfortable to hold in hands
I have the X-E4. My main camera is and X-T5. I got the thumb thingy because I kept moving the exposure compensation dial. When I tried an X-T30 the Q button was just in the wrong place and I'd have bought the thumb rest for that. The grip for either. I use my X-E4 on a tripod from time to time. The grip has Arca Swiss built in. No brainer. Lives in my bag otherwise.
I had concerns for Q button on XT30ii but never press it by accident so thats fine. But if grips dont bother you then go for it and use it how you like it!
I think the X-E4 minimalism can be great- as long as you embrace that. I would like one, can't be found, but I wouldn't buy the grip and the thumb grip- I think it's like heresy. I do think the X-T30II is pretty good too.
Same here, just bought XT30II, but if I were to buy X-E4 I would never buy those grips as it ruins X-E4 design philosophy. On the other hand on X-T30II grips are pretty small, but surprisingly it is enough to carry around in one hand
@@ShotsByJev And after debating an XT30II or X-T5, went for the X-T5. Mixed feelings at the moment. Great camera but the 40MP is a bit overkill for my use. I wish Fuji did a firmware update to support a resample down "small raw" format. Like 20MP or 26MP.
I am feeling a bit limited by the x100 setup as well and want a new everyday carry. I have the S, T, and V (and even an X70!) I love the look of the E4. The XT series looks somewhat toy-like to me, but of course it's a great camera. I am seriously thinking about getting rid of them all and getting an XE4 a pancake and a zoom, but then I think 💭...is an XT5 really all that much bigger? I do need to do some occasional professional video with a mic. Is 2 centimeters or whatever, really so much when it's in the messenger bag? Ach. Too many great options! Subbed. BTW those front grips mess up the looks XE4!
Yeah, with x100 you have that constant feeling, that you should be able to get more out of it, especially considering x100v price. As you mentioned x70 I think ideal combination would be xt30ii or xe4 and x70, the last one is true compact only with wider f2.8 aperture, but for day shooting its perfectly enough. If you considering xt5 it depends how you plan to carry it. In my case I wanted a camera that would fit in a fanny pack and won't be that noticeable waring on the neck, so bigger xt5 wont fit in those criteria. By the way xt30ii has mic input, only its 2.5mm so you would need to get an adaptor. Although if you consider filming with stabiliser I imagine it could be harder to balance than bigger cameras
I have X-T30 II and huge hands but I still will not buy grips because it makes the camera bulgier and uglier. I purchased this camera with 27mm pancake lens in order to keep the camera small and light to carry and that is exactly why I enjoy it so far. I have the neck strap so it's not like I need to hold the camera all the time. When it comes to looks, I prefer the X-T30 II because it reminds me of my film SLR, Pentax MV.
I went shopping for the 27mm lens. The shop said yes we have it, but it comes with the XE4. Oh! I thought, so went away and checked up on the XE4. Oh! My, have same guts as XT4. Went back to shop and bought XE4 with 27mm! Welcome to shopping in.......... Thailand! I use the XE4 more than my XH1 sadly😢
M super happy owner of XT 30 ii ..I just love that Fuji camera . It's just awesome. The only thing is battery drains faster. But that's fine if you have a battery backup. But Fuji is just superb ❤
My ‘choice’ was slightly different, I was going to choose between the x100v and the X-E4. I like the kind of images people were getting with both, but liked the more ‘compactness’ of the E4 plus the interchangeable lens mite b useful … But ‘of course’ neither camera is available at sensible prices at now, so I’ll have to think again …
I own an XT30. I bought a L bracket and thumb grip. I don’t think either degrades the look of the body. Even if the look of the body is degraded I don’t care. The XT30 is too small to comfortably hold. The L bracket and thumb rest makes the experience of holding the body more comfortable for me. If there is a choice between the aesthetics and comfort, comfort will win 100% of the time. Some people talk about wanting to use a Fuji once it is purchased as a reason to own one of these bodies. If the body doesn’t feel good in my hand I will not purchase it. Simple as that. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
@@ShotsByJev I wanted a small body. Check. When I had the body in hand I noticed it wasn’t comfortable when I held. I bought the L bracket and the comfort issue was solved. Check. I used a thumb grip from another Fuji body and it felt even better. Check. Maybe the L bracket is enough. I am going for the hedonistic feel here. Yes the body is a little larger. Not a deal breaker as the XT30 isn’t my EDC camera. For me, a satisfying body to hold and still relatively small. Bought the body used. It has the graphite finish. I prefer all black bodies for the aesthetic. The graphite finish is OK and makes this body instantly stand out as the XT30. The XT30 was selected as a smaller alternative to the XT3 with good video features for short video clips. An XT3 light. The bottom line is I wanted a small and light body. I didn’t want a larger body. The right tool for the right job. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
I have the x-e4 and I love it. I did buy the thumb grip and the extra grip to try them out. The thumb grip makes a difference but you can shoot without. I use the grip if I have a bigger lens like the xf 56 1.2. When I have the xf 35 f/2 or 23 f2 the thumb grip is great. I bought an off brand for $25. I prefer the rangefinder style of shooting so that is why I wouldn’t choose the x-T30. I do prefer the minimalistic style of the x-e4. My main camera is a Sony a7c which is also a rangefinder style with the evf on the side and also doesn’t have a lot of buttons. It has enough customizable buttons to make me happy. I wanted an x100v but you know the deal there and I wasn’t going to overpay for one. I was able to find an x-e4 and I’m loving the film simulations and the ability to change lenses.
So camera is rangefinder style when there is no flash bump on top and viewfinder on the side? For me its such a minor differences by which you can call camera rangefinder or something else, for me it is more in the sizing of cameras, ones are bugger and meant more for work, others smaller meant fore travel and etc
Well if you say XT-30II grip ugly I can't imaginde, how you can like those bulky grips on X-E4. I think X-E4 is a beautiful camera, but any typo of grip attached to it just ruins it completely
Get the X-S10. It has everything the X-T30ii has plus adds IBIS, which is big. It also adds several C modes available from the top dial and a dial for film sims.
Great advice, but in this case for me portability is more important than IBIS as i believe XS10 is bigger and I want to carry camera around in fannypack for example. For filming stuff I have Sony A7iii with IBIS
Ya seriously I hate that they always wine about the grips there’s this weird noodle fingered group who constantly birches about it just buy a camera with a. Good grip leave the pretty cameras to us
I have the X-T30ii and it is amazing. I am very happy with it and still think that it is the most overlooked Fujifilm camera.
Yeah, same here, just because it doesnt look like x100 it didnt get much attention on the internet
Yesterday I was at Best Buy and felt this camera and was like omg. It is kinda nice. Flew way under my radar.

I bought the X-T30 II yesterday and I am super happy with it, I use Sony for work and the fujifilm is a very fun to use!
Actually sounds like myself, I also have Sony for work and now XT30ii for spare time!
Can add me to that list: Sony for work, Fujifilm for creative/fun
@@pancakelens75 starting to look like a pattern 😁
@@ShotsByJev @millenialtrantrum2739 Can I get on this list. Full-time Sony shooter, and a part-time Fuji enthusiast.
I'm just curious, why not Fujifilm as the main camera?
the XT-30ii is really one of the best choices in the affordable range of fuji cameras! got mine early this year and I haven't touch my a7iv since. LOL
I got mine recently as well and couldnt be more happy with it!
Get an XH1 with the battey grip & you're problem is solved. ✌🏾
What is concerning you about shutter speed ? It should be the same on both cameras.
Great videos, Jev; I love your presentations and delivery. Unfortunately, none of these cameras are available new,,, ever
i have the xe4 and i think that you at least need the thumb grip. without it, it feels like its gonna slip out the hand.
True that! Same for XT30. Make your choice. Good looks or more secure grasp of the body
Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
So extra 50€ for the thumb grip or 25€ for non original one
Hello, thank you for your video that comes up very useful! Since I was hesitating between XE4, XT3 and XT300 II :) Which one would you recommend for street photo? Thank you :)
Does the location of the Q button bother you? They say it's easy to accidentally press it.

Have XT30 ii. the missing part is Image stabilization. Without which its difficult even stills with longer shutter speeds.
Well, I agree and disagree, this camera doesnt pretend to be a pro camera, it is more for casual shooting, also the price is bellow 1000$ so I dont see how it could be fit in that price as well as in this small size. I solved this issue by having XC15-45 lens with OIS
What's your opinion about the Ricoh GRIII for street photography?
Unfortunately I havent tried one yet
Curious to ask, have you owned all cameras at once? :D
@@ShotsByJev no unfortunately not 😂 only one at a time throughout the years
I’m a diehard canon fanboy. I just bought Xt30ii as a creative camera. It’s I incredible. What an amazing camera. I love the quality.
Yeah, i definitely feel you!
I agree. I own the x-e4 and can not understand why you would then buy accessories.
Hold the camera with two hands. Use a wrist or neck strap.
Exactly, embrace it or leave it
I bought the X-E4 in 2021 and have used it for just about every type of photography since then, street photography, events, portraiture, sports.
I think a rangefinder camera has to have that viewfinder on the front of the camera. like Fujifilm x100v, X-Pro 3 and Leica M.
You can only buy a used X-E4 now, which is about the same price as a new X-T30ii, so I would lean towards getting the X-T30ii.
In this case of course!
After much thought I have ordered an X-T30ii, with a 23mm lens. With this camera I can add another lens to my kit in the future.
Yeah, same here, took 27mm and XC15-45mm lenses with mine, there is plenty of options to complete a set for everyone
How is the xc 15-45?
Have an XE4 with both official Fuji grips and love the camera. I use it with an 18-55mm and 90mm and find the purchase I get with the grips to be exactly what I want. As far as the looks, I don't think with or without the grips has an aesthetic advantage.
Well, i’m happy for you that you are satisfied with your set even though a still couldn’t understand this choice :)
Yeah, you think that you dont need flash in a camera, until you actually need a flash in the camera
Have you thought of maybe grabbing a used XT3? will get the weathersealing and the 1/8000.
How gud and seamless is the xt30 with the Fuji App?
Its not bad actually, once you register camera in the app, you dont need to turn connection mode on the camera each time you want to pair it, you just open the app, press connect and check if wifi conected
As a beginner which one should I get ? Please do suggest
With X-T30ii you get more out of that package, unless you plan to vlog with it then X-E4 offers tilt up screen. I myself got X-T30ii and plan to make review video in the future
The grip doesn’t change the look of the camera if the camera is always in your hand.
I’d like Xpro, but I dont like shooting through viewfinder and screen on those cameras are uncomfortable for constant shooting through the screen

@@losmalqueridos2009 exactly, you right, Fujifilm are the best in this regard!

I have theXTX30ii and I love it. I like the size, weight and design
Very nice!
Totally agree with you!
@@ShotsByJev Exactly...

@@ShotsByJev it's more minimalistic, right. But no fun at all to carry around for a longer time... 😊
Thanks for the reviews
My pleasure!
they bought the grip not for aesthetic but for its use its more comfortable to have the grip compromising the looks over comfort, please more review
Yes, what I meant that people choose X-E4 over X-T30II because of the looks of X-E4, but then they ruin it by adding additional grips to it.
Regarding your comments about grips being unnecessary.
There are two reasons for me to have the grip.
1. The stupid location of the tripod mount which is off set and is too close to the battery door so when the camera is on the tripod, changing the battery is impossible without removing the camera from the tripod
This makes panoramic 📸 photography impossible.
I have an XH2….tried XT30II few days before and now I want it 😂. Small, retro and 26mp
Yes! It is a nice retro looking camera!
The XT30 front grip is not enough to handle it comfortably. And most small body cameras need a thumb and front grip, specially if you have big hands.
I own the xt30 mk2 its lovely to use i think you made a great t choice.
Yes, I think so too, thanks!
Literally speaking my words!
Man soooo right, I was thinking that too, everyone with an xe4 buys a grip for it. Why don't just buy the xt30 then 😂
There is things that not everyone can understand :D
I went shopping for the 27mm lens. The shop said yes we have it, but it comes with the XE4. Oh! I thought, so went away and checked up on the XE4. Oh! My, have same guts as XT4. Went back to shop and bought XE4 with 27mm! Welcome to shopping in.......... Thailand! I use the XE4 more than my XH1 sadly😢
So if I userstand correctly you had to buy X-E4 kit in order to get 27mm lens? Thats strange!
Well, X-E4 is compact only with sertain lenses, with others it becomes bulkier than X100V. Try to find used X-E3 or X100F still great cameras
Will do, thkz
I own an XT30. I bought a L bracket and thumb grip. I don’t think either degrades the look of the body. Even if the look of the body is degraded I don’t care. The XT30 is too small to comfortably hold. The L bracket and thumb rest makes the experience of holding the body more comfortable for me.
If there is a choice between the aesthetics and comfort, comfort will win 100% of the time. Some people talk about wanting to use a Fuji once it is purchased as a reason to own one of these bodies. If the body doesn’t feel good in my hand I will not purchase it. Simple as that.

But if this body is too small for you why then not buy just a bit bigger camera?

I'm happy with x100f
Glad there are people that apreciate and love x100!
I think XT30ii is right choice for me .
Glad to hear that!
confusing review/ comparison. I had trouble following when you mentioned something but showed the specs for something else
Sorry to hear that you found my video confusing
As a owner of a xt3 I would prefer to buy a xe4 over the xt30ii. The xe4 as a B cam for travel and everyday carriage will do a much better job for me
Depends on everyone needs
@@ShotsByJev absolutely. That’s why I said. “I would prefer”
The X-T30II has Eye Tracking Focus, while the X-E4 doesn't.
I think they both have it
I also went for the XT-30ii and have no regrets...
Nice! Hope the same will be for me and I also wont regret it
XT-30 II grip is quite ugly for my taste tbh, X-E4 you can just customize your look and the evf placement just looks and function better imo.😊
Well if you say XT-30II grip ugly I can't imaginde, how you can like those bulky grips on X-E4. I think X-E4 is a beautiful camera, but any typo of grip attached to it just ruins it completely
X-T30 Mark 2 for me
For me as well!
@@ShotsByJev you should check it out. It is not a big camera. To me it feels much the same size as the X-T30ii but with a better grip.
@@geofff6671 a bit too late for me as I already gor XT30ii
In india xs10 is 200$ more expensive
Ya seriously I hate that they always wine about the grips there’s this weird noodle fingered group who constantly birches about it just buy a camera with a. Good grip leave the pretty cameras to us
Yeah, just use camera as it was designed
@@ShotsByJev THANKYOU
@@laurent7403 Glad you use your X-E4 as it was designed without any grips! Keep it up!
