After over 50 years of shooting 35mm and 120 films, I got a Fujifilm camera for its retro look. There was just one Fuji camera available: the X-T30II with a kit lens. It took a month, and my trip (the main reason for buying the camera) was approaching, so I bought a backup camera, Fuji X-E3. Well, the T30 arrived a week short of my trip, and I have to say that the learning curve was a little overwhelming. I have shot fully manually all my life, so most of my settings were for manual camera control. I have to say that I can recommend it thoroughly. By the way, the X-E3 is also an outstanding little camera.
Xt30ii was my first Fuji camera and I love it. I just bought an X-T5 and was originally planning to sell the xt30ii to help recoup some of the cost but I can’t bring myself to sell it. It’s really a perfect grab and go camera especially with a pancake or any of the f/2 fujicrons. And the picture quality is amazing.
So you knowing the meaning curve over the xt30ii is any more difficult than the x100 VI? Or…are the menus basically the same. I’m considering this since I there x100 vi is so hard to get right now. Would appreciate any feedback you might be able to offer. Thank you!
hey can you help me. I am a beginner and am looking to buy my first camera. Should I go for the XT30ii or increase my budget and get the XT5. Which one would be a better choice for a beginner who wants to get into the world of photography and learn.
@@nikhilkumarmishra2178 for a beginner I would definitely just go with the xt30ii and spend the money you saved on some nice lenses. The xt30ii is really a great camera and more than enough camera for someone starting out and learning. I’ve actually taken some of my favorite shots ever with it and the 23mm f2 Fuji lens.
I bought a Fuji X10 on a whim back in 2012 and never really learned how to use it until recently. Although it is an astounding device, eventually the tiny sensor became too much of a limitation and I sold it on eBay (for around the same price I originally paid!) and bought an XT-30ii as the perfect upgrade. Still compact but with far more capability. I got mine with the super-cheap XC15-45 lens, which also has OIS and is fine for a general point-and-shoot, but I soon also treated myself to the XF35F2 and a really nice TTArtisans 56F1.8. Next purchase will need to be a descent telephoto but that's a bit of a different price level!
i'd like to buy this one as soon as i can as my first camera, i've got big hands but im looking forward to get an L bracket too with better grip, i wanted to save for a x-s20 but it's getting more expensive where I live, all i want is to take pictures and learn but i fell in love with fuji system haha
In-camera stock film simulations are good because they are based on real film color characteristics, not exactly the same but a good digital representation and a great way to save time color grading. The recipes from users however… are still the same Fuji simulations with some tweaks so I really see no reason to use them especially that nobody apart from Fuji or Kodak would probably be able to come up with Portra simulation that somewhat resembles the film stock. But great for those who never shot and developed a roll of Portra themselves, I guess. Having said that I do enjoy my Fujifilm simulations and wish Fuji joined with Kodak to bring some of those simulations too!
I’ve been looking at Fuji cameras and the XT30ii & XT4 have stood out to me the most. I mainly use my camera for travel / everyday use plus some automotive photography. Recently looking to get into portrait / studio maybe.. would either of these cameras be capable or not? I’m a Sony A6000 user so I’m not up on Fujifilms.
A nice and not so expensive camera, indeed. I owned it. But the X-T50 has a better AF, has IBIS and in a few month the street price should be better than now.
I used a new XT-30 II with the 15-45mm xc kit lens and found that the photos are not sharp and blurry. There are much more noise than photos taken with my XS-10 with the 16-80mm kit lens. The photos are usually quite dark. Not sure if it is due to the camera, the lens or the receipe that used 400 dynamic range which requires minimum 640 ISO. 640 ISO should not be an issue on photo noise for Fuji camera. Does any one have the same experience and know the reasons why?
Thanks for the video! Pretty much agree with you on all points. A quick hardware question, if I may. Do you find the exposure compensation dial on XT-30 Mark 2 too stiff, too tight to rotate while taking pictures? I constantly end up pushing the Q button button while rotating it since I have to employ two fingers for doing that, while on my XE-4 it is an easy one finger effort.. Thanks!
@@Jay_Ducker the camera is perfect for stills. But i think the AF sucks and the entire work process is slow in general. The limit on 4k recording and focus hunting during video is unacceptable.
Is it only my experience that the exposure compensation dial is very tight to turn? Also, I end up pushing the function which is in front of it all the time..
I’m honestly stuck between getting this or the xt50 I do want the xt50 for the other features it has and 40mp sensor but I’ve also heard great things about the xt30 II from people who own it
The kit lens is the first lens i recommend. I'm shooting this whole video on the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 and the first time you see the XT30ii it has the 35mm f/2 on it! Hope that helps
What do you think about this camera in 2024?
Love it!
Disappear.. Ghoib

Yeah I have used it professionally and it works great 😃👍
You are spot on re Fujifilm's lack of weatherization for bodies (except medium format) but the lenses are...who thought that was a good idea? lol
just got one for myself in July... 2024!!!! It's a great, small camera!
It'd be nice to see a comparison between the X-S20 and the X-TX0 lineup

That’s cool - I think that would be a good shout. As someone with larger hands the xs20 is more suitable but an L bracket will do the job
Great video. also nice personality
I ike this humble attitude
Thank you - I appreciate that!
Is the X T30 also worth it? It is much cheaper.

Most definitely - either camera would work just perfectly but obviously paired with the right lens
The X-T4 is awesome trust me!

Fair points

I have the 35mm kit lens, and I also feel that the photos are dark, and it seems most of the time I can't get clean photos. 😢
And for anyone who want to save some money: Fujifilm XC 35mm F2. Yes, it is made ouf of plastic but the optics are very good.

Hey man, can I ask what kind of lens are you using around 8:10
35mm f2
Good video! What do you think about dogs and nature photography with this camera? :)
Thank you - I would presume a good fit 👍
I want to take selfies by seeing myself at the same time, so which mirrorless camera is best for me?
Hi, i am already using a XT200. I just shoot for hobby and travel. Do you think it would be worthwhile upgrading?
I’d say if you’re happy I wouldn’t necessarily feel the need to advise you to

Most definitely

with the right lens can you do astrophotography with this?
Does the Fuji x Weekly app work on a PC please?
my local camera shop doesnt carry them anymore any input on which one looks better in person the all black or silver?
Would most of this also apply to the. X-T4? I have a x-t30 (first one) and I’m looking for a cheaper upgrade.
Where i can buy it

You made me buy the XS20 back in Feb. And was heart broken when you let it go a few months ago. Now this? 😢😂
Don't be too disappointed - Firstly this camera was just on loan to me and secondly, I'm looking to pick up an XS20 again - Both are great cameras
Does this camera allow recipes to be given a name in camera?
Yes. 7 named ‘banks’ C 1-7 plus A .
I want this camera soo bad but im concerned the video quality is not good with this camera as i mainly shoot videos not photos
Pair it with a lens that has OIS and you’ll be fine

Depends on your budget tbh if you got the money, get the XT50
@@Jay_Ducker fair point !
does it have play in the shutter button?
what is the loom zoom telephoto lens that you showed in the video 2:39
50-140mm
Is that the kit lens in the video?
The kit lens is the first lens i recommend. I'm shooting this whole video on the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 and the first time you see the XT30ii it has the 35mm f/2 on it! Hope that helps
@@Jay_Duckercan i use sigma 18-35 f1.8 on xt30 ii? Because i nver find that lens for fuji
Should i get a xt3 or this? :((
I couldn’t say tbh
Stop to grow hype over Fuji cameras. Price already hit sky and continue growing :)
Better than Sony or Canon's prices
@@ericnunezxNot really. I don't see used Sony cams being scalped for twice retail. If you do, you must live somewhere else.
Should I get this or the XT-50?
Depends on your budget tbh
