My advice for fujifilm users on a budget. Buy used gear! The build quality on Fuji lenses and cameras are top notch and will last forever. I was able to save about 30-50% on my entire kit buying off eBay!
I'll have what HE's having...
Fujifilm. Not even once.
where’s your pfp from again?
I which I have what he's having 😞
@@andresmills7915 why not ?
Your avatar could not be more perfect for that comment
As a beginner the three dials makes so much more sense than the PASM wheel - you just shoot in auto and if you need to change anything, you change it! No weird extra PASM step.
What is PASM
@@omegamanGXE Most modern cameras have one dial that controls what "mode" you are in. PASM stands for the different modes on this dial (among others usually). It stands for
PROGRAM
APERTURE PRIORITY
SHUTTER PRIORITY
MANUAL
Program is almost fully automatic - you can control a lot of things, but the camera decides the exposure (meaning shutter and aperture, etc.).
Aperture Priority is an automatic mode where you select the aperture, and the camera decides everything else to come up with the proper exposure with that aperture setting.
Shutter Priority is the same, except obviously you choose the shutter speed you want to use, and the camera adjusts everything else to get the proper exposure.
Manual is just that - everything is set manually.
This camera doesn't have these modes with one dial - but you get the exact same result if you set one aspect of the exposure on a specific setting, and "A" (auto) on everything else. If you set the aperture dial to f4 and "A" on everything else, you've essentially put the camera into aperture priority mode at f4 and the camera figures all the other settings out to get a proper exposure. If you don't like the exposure, you can use the exposure compensation dial to adjust up or down from what the camera "wants" to do.
Just about every camera can do this same thing; they just don't separate it out into several different dials. In fact, as far as efficiency goes, having a separate dial for each aspect of the exposure triangle like this is probably not the best way - - - - if *_efficiency_* is what you're after. However, it's cool as hell to have a camera with all these dials. Yes, it's probably more convenient to just throw the PASM dial into aperture priority (A) and dial in an aperture, but it's kinda rewarding to turn each dial how you want it. It's more deliberate, and you feel like YOU made it happen rather than the camera.
The whole look of these Fuji cameras are a bit retro, so having all those dials fits that theme. I think it's cool - - and it probably makes you slow down a bit and think about your pictures more than if you just flip one dial and start shooting away. You're doing the same thing with this camera, but you're putting more thought into what you want the camera to automatically pick, and what you want to pick. It's more deliberate; not necessarily better. It's certainly cooler though - if you take pictures because it's fun to take pictures.
@@willoughbykrenzteinburg thanks a lot!
Thank you so much for this. I have been struggling with this camera because its so technical and these tips have helped me start taking pictures without the frustrations. Thanks so much!
Perfect timing on this video my X-T4 just came in and I've been binge watching all your content!
Great tips and love how you jump out of the chair with enthusiasm 😁
To newbies… the smaller grip takes some getting used to. Now I feel 100% secure with it.
I jumped he gun on a hand grip, but it now sits in the drawer unless I’m taking a tripod with me
I've been using the X-T4 for over a year now and your videos still teach me something about how it works
Are you happy with your X-T4?
kingjay that scares me even a little more. so the menus hide stuff that well
why don't share some of your photography on your channel?
I'm purchasing a Fuji xt2 tomorrow and it's going to be my first camera and I just wanted to say that I'm appreciating your content so much! Very informative and professional! Thanks for your great work and hope all is well! 🔥🤜🤛
Dear Chris, again and again I am really amazed about all the good information and advice that you have been giving us over the last years. And for free!! Absolutely great, and in fact you are one of the reasons that I keep on enjoying photographing with Fujifilm! At the moment I own two X-T3 bodies, and I am thinking about swapping one X-T3 for an X-T5. But I will wait for your full review on the X-T5, before making a decision. Incidently, I hope that in this upcoming review you will also cover some in-camera processing options such as focus stacking, aperture stacking and multiple exposure functions. A very very very big THANK YOU for all your great work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow really love the comprehensive details for fuji I've seen in youtube. I've had a fuji xt-20 for a few years and still not know how to use it. Used a Nikon previously and been putting the fuji camera aside because it was too complicated. You earned yourself a subscriber!
Another great video! As always very informative! The only UA-cam videos I look forward to and watch every week! You truly are the Fuji Professor!
thank you soo much for these helpful tips and informations! you are definitely that Fuji Guru I’ve been searching for! Looking forward for many many of your content!
Ordered used X-T10 with 7artisans 35mm f/1.2, and it comes with the hand grip, and I can't wait to run through it and test it. You Sir made a great , weighty and profound video review, much appreciated!
This video was incredibly useful!! I've recently purchased my first camera, which is an XT-4. This video has taught me some great things!
Just acquired an XT4 having sold my Lumix MFT system. Your channel is so informative and is helping me understand the Fuji system.
As usual, the best advise ever for my Fuji. Love it and so appreciative.
Thank you so much Jerry!!! 🙏
This has to be the most useful video I have ever watched on the Fuji camera. Have learned lots today. Thank you.
perfect balance between iformative and entertaining. Speaks to the expert photographer and to the neophyte alike
Honestly, such a valuable feed as I get fully acquainted with the XT3. Thanks so much for your sharing and tips.
I'm still rockin' with my XT-3...thx Chris for all that you do for Fuji users, new & experienced!!!
Great content! This and many other videos has helped me alot on my Fujifilm journey. Thanks a bunch
love the Fuji system! your videos / set up & features info on these cameras are the best Chris! 🙏🏼truly appreciate all your help & effort you put into this channel !! Cheers 🌟
Thank you so much Karen! 🙏
I like your videos and the way you explain the features and getting hands on. I recently got XT4 camera and your videos help me with it.
I've been using XA3 for couple of years, can't wait to get my hands on the XT series especially XT3 which the most realisticly reachable for me, i thank you for this video, it gives me a head start for what's to come.
Having started my photographic journey back in 1969 on the Nikon F coming to Fuji, was like returning back to the days of film in many respects. I love being able to see the shutter speed, the ASA dial, and the F stops all at a glance. And yes, the JPEG’s are fantastic. I’m at wedding photographer and I never shoot in raw since coming over to Fuji. My first Fuji was an X 100 when it came out and I have not looked back.
You have just talked me out of buying one of this range. So glad you have shown this level of detail. Many thanks.
Amazing explanation!!!! I loved the functionality of this xt4 and the tips!!! Thank you very much!
Cool guide! Glad to meet another Fuji user! And wow I'm learning a lot from your channel! Great tips! 😍Thanks!
Nice to meet you as well! Cheers!
Love your videos!! I have a Fujifilm X-T5 showing up in two days! It is my first "Real" camera.. Your videos have been so so sooo helpful bringing me up to speed.. Can't wait to start shooting and continuing to dig dig dig in you your content. Thank you for what you do!
EZ
Hands down the best Fuji tutorials channel, thank you so much!
Love your videos! Always extremely informative!!
Im a baby newbie to photography and for my first "expensive" to me camera, I have decided to get a XT-30 and I am so glad I stumbled upon your page! I look forward to watching all of your videos , thanks for the information and you have a new subcrisber!
Incredible videos pal2tech. Really inspired by your videos. Very helpful, thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. I just got an XT5 as a total beginner and I learned so much
Another great video! Of all Fuji channels, Pal2tech is my fav ❤️
Thanks Srikanth. So kind of you my friend!!! 🙏
I’m so glad you did this video it’s so helpful thanks for sharing
I'm fairly new to the Fujifilm camera. I'm learning so many cool things from you. Thank you.
I love my Fuji xt4, it gives me a lot of possibilities, the only thing I miss from my Canon is the lens long zoom lenses, it's the only lens I still need to use with my older Dsrl , the 150-600mm, if it wasn't for that, I think I wouldn't get my canon out of my cupboard. The older way of having dials is amazing, I never need to take my eye out of the eyepiece. I can just change anything with my hands. Thank you for a great review!!!
Thanks. I have an XT100 that I absolutely love. This video explains why.
This was very helpful, love all the tips you gave!
As someone who switched from an entry-level canon camera to an X-T5, I find your videos very helpful. Thx for the awesome content!
Been shooting Fuji since the X100 so over 10 years and I can say it's definitely safe to shoot above 3200 safely. I limit my auto ISO to 6400 and I get excellent results. I have film simulations I run at 12800 and get what looks like grain so bump up the ISO to whatever you need, the camera can handle it.
Excellent compared to what? any apsc camera today in 2022 will show noise above ISO 800 100% zoomed in. JPEG process in the camera digitally hides those noise. Pictures taken by X100 (first generation) were USABLE up to ISO 6400. NOT Excellent. It's an overstatement.
@@redsox7897 Compared to Sony a6000 models, to my Nikon D7000/D7100 canon's crop sensor, hell just about any crop sensor out there. Surely it's subjective but I honestly prefer the way Fuji handles noise to look more like grain rather than a pixelated mess.
overstatement, my main problem with the xt3 is noise over iso 800. and less details. compared to my older canon 77D I used to have sharper photos using the 18-135mm kit lens. I love the fuji but it's not that advanced compared to other apsc cameras (photo wise) video is another thing.
I watched this video a few weeks back and realized its a Masterclass on Fuji Cameras. Fast forward to the other day when I finally received my own fuji camera and I was seriously trying to remember and find this video to help with setting it up. Only now have I stumbled back here.
What I'm trying to say is this video is seriously gold but the title can really be more.
Thank you so much for these tips! Just got my X-T2, it was my dream camera since 2017 and I cannot wait to see what it's capable of (coming from a long time d300 and FE2 user here). I'm planning to get the 27mm f2.8 since I mainly do street photography at most 😁
Just bought my first camera ever today, a Fujifilm XT-30, this video is very helpful! Thanks!
Excellent video! Keeping in touch with newcomers!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great video! Short and sweet, straight to the point!
Brand new to serious cameras/photography equipment and I have a brand new X-T5. This video is super helpful. Thank you!
just upgraded from the X-t10 to X-t30.... i'm so excited to be back shooting again!!! I reviewed this video 3x, it helped so much !
Fantastic - The whole video but that grip. Buying one in a minute. I almost didn’t buy the Fuji because it dug in my hand a bit when I tested it but I’m so glad I did. And the button! As always great information thank you so much
My X-T4 just showed up this week, and I couldn't be more excited. It's my first foray into Fuji cameras (and mirrorless for that matter), and you were the single most influential factor in my decision to make the purchase and venture outside the Canon realm. Your review and setup videos (this one included) have already been incredibly helpful as I wrap my head around a new system; thanks for all your efforts!
I’m in a similar position. I still have and use my canon dslr however i bought an x-t30 as a less conspicuous walk around for street type photography. This channel has been so useful as I thought I’d made a massive mistake and took it back to the shop. I found this channel and decided to give it another go so went and re-bought it 😅 the shop thought I was crazy I’m sure but these videos gave me the confidence to try again. I’m so glad I did. Fabulous videos. Enjoy your new photography adventure
The BEST video for new Fuji owners like myself, 🙏🏽 thank you !!
Incredibly helpful. I am about to get my first Fuji XT and didn't know any of this. I've been shooting since the film days but have never had a Fuji. Those film simulations got me!
As someone switching from the Canon EOS system, this was really helpful for me! Thanks 🙌🏾
I wanted to buy the Fuji and now, I‘ll definitely buy it. Your videos are better than the manuals.
your delivery and content is so high quality
Absolutely amazing advice and guidance..
Very useful video. I wish to see more of such videos on Fujifilm.
I just purchase the XT-30ii after taking a 8 year break from photography. I had been using Sony for many years and recent reviews of the a Fuji led me to purchasing one. Can’t wait to start using it and thank you for posting this very informative video.
great info! a few mixups in the first bit about manual vs auto. Otgerwise great info. looking forward to watching more
The way you talk made me happy. You seem very excited about it, in a good way.
I have a lot of doubts between this x-t4 and a a6600. I will have to keep thinking about it.
Anyone reading this, feel free to recommend to me either one or an alternative.
This video couldn't have delivered on the title more strongly. I'm about to get a XT-4 and found all your advice very relevant. I feel prepped now. Great job!
That's awesome! You'll love that camera!! 👍
Thank for a great video great hail with my change to Fuji camera system
I enjoy your videos you are very entertaining to listen to, which can very rarely be said for a lot of you tubers in my opinion Thanks for your video content
Fantastic video.....thanks for the info!
Very helpful 👍 lots of great information put across very easily with good demonstrations of your tips so thanks for doing this video
So glad to be part of the Fujifilm community and culture! Yes!
I've just purchased the X-T4 and this was very helpful, Thank You
I think I love you... thanks for a great edited, clear information video.
I gave it a like and subscribed! Love how you story tell. I'm going to be receiving my first fujifilm camera in a few days. Got the XT-4 :) Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I've been using the X100V for a while, if you shoot RAW at around 3200 ISO you can easily regain quality with a bit of noise reduction and it would look just fine.
thanks for making me love my camera even more.
You are an incredible communicator of information!
as a photographer, I love this guy.... he explain everything so good!
Just got a XT4 for my first ever camera... Can't wait to learn how to use this awesome piece of gear properly! Feeling greatly inspired by your video series.🤗🙏💗
awesome!
Very helpful, thank you!
I like the information and your enthusiasm, thank you. 👍😊
After some long years away from (not cellphone) cameras, I've just finally got my X-T30 (yes, in 2021), I'm just having the greatest time with it! Thank you for encouraging me to get into the Fujifilm camera system @pal2tech !!..
Fantastic video! thank you
Thanks for the advice!
very cool! I am in the process of buying my next camera, more video capable (I have a D7500 nikon) and almost never I heard anything about Fujifilm, so your channel is the best source for info and this video is very nice! Thanks!
Great video. I switched from Canon and got an x100v last year. Wish I had seen this video then. Took me awhile to understand the absence of the PASM dial as you explain so clearly here.
Your videos are such a joy to watch. Your energy alone is worth the time. I always learn something new and valuable by watching your videos. Thank you!
great introduction, thankyou Chris.
Used Fuji XT3 since release, still learned a couple of things, awesome!
Great introduction to Fuji with lots of detailed information for new users and old.
Thank you so much. So helpful
Really good tips!
Well I just bought my XT4 and it should be arriving next week! I’ve been watching a bunch of your videos to not get overwhelmed when I first get the camera and want to set it up lol
I'm glad that Fujifilm was my first official camera. Now owning X-T4 and X100V and mostly shoot JPEGs only
Oh, I lust for that X100V! But first I am getting the 70-300mm. Am happy with my XT3.
Great combo
Bro, you are just THE BEST resource for Fuji users.
wonderful job, thanks for your help
Just discovered your UA-cam channel. It's great and probably the best for tips and knowledge. And I haven't got a Fujifilm camera to my name, yet! Thanks.
Hey Chris. I've recently bought a new X-T5 and am a Mac user. Joined your community :) Your videos are very helpful...thank you!!
Not so new to Fuji, still found this very useful. Thanks.
Great video Chris, I sure do hope you will get an X-S10 in the future, as I've yet to find a UA-camr who has made an in-depth video on the X-S10 as you could. I think it's because it's not a true Fuji camera but more like a hybrid, and the Fuji savants are not overly interested. There are a lot of similarities between it and the XT-4 but some big differences in the controls. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Great video Chris!! I've been using Fuji cameras for 3 years but I always learn something new and useful from you. Thanks a lot!!
Please check minute 2:33: you say "the camera is in full automatic mode" and it should say "full manual mode".
Ugh!!!! I see that. Whoops!!! Oh well.... STILL NO EDIT BUTTON UA-cam?????? 😮
I learn something new with every video you make!
Great video as usual. As a new Fuji user, I didn’t know about the MF Assist shortcut where you hold the rear dial to change modes while in manual focus. Very handy.
As always thanks for another great video
