    Fuji doesnt want to compete in the fullframe market since its the most satured one. They found their retro niche in the high end apsc market and are doing amazingly there. They do have medium format for those who find the crop sensor not deeming. They found a winning formula where Canon,Sony,Nikon and Panasonic are fighting over professional market they go for enthusiasts and hobbists, and its working.

      Yeah, there is some sense in your words, but still for me is strange that Fujifilm brings film simulation from their film background, but dont have same as film size sensors in their cameras

      Honestly, unless you're ready to pay any amount of money for the full frame lenses (I'm talking 1500 usd+ each) to get the extra 3% quality, it doesn't make sense.
      Speaking for myself, my X-H2 + 27mm f1.2 viltrox is sharper and punchier than any lens I have for the A7C2, including Sony G lenses. That kit is cheaper than just the Sony body!

    I switched to Fuji for pro work (weddings, portraits, food) with a X-H2. I come from Sony and I don't regret it at all, lighter gear and more importantly having more fun. I got an XT-30 II as a backup, I ended up using it almost everyday for street and even for some pro shoots with a wide lens. The image quality is amazing and the workflow is really nice.

      How do you handle low lights with Fuji at weddings? Because I find full frame to be on the limit. Also do you lack depth of field and blur on background as it is less with aps-c sensors?

      @@ShotsByJev I push to 6400 ISO and sometimes a bit higher as most people don't care about a bit of noise :) Also I tend to use a couple of off-flashes in the room if it is really dark . For bokeh 56mm 1.4 is amazing. FF is way overrated these days.
      I even sometimes shoot with my Lumix GX9 with a 30mm equivalent 1.7 Leica MFT lens and it works great !

    Whenever people mention the ergonomics of the XT30ii, I always want to tell them about a hot shoe thumb grip. I have big hands, and this really changed the way I feel about holding the camera. Also, I think it looks great. I have the silver body with a matching silver grip. The back buttons remain easily accessible as well. I prefer back button focusing and there's been no issue.

    • @ShotsByJev
      @ShotsByJev  9 місяців тому +1

      Well for me the X-T30ii thumb grip is plenty enough, no need for more. Also personally my opinion, that X-T30ii with hot shoe thumb grip looks even worse than X-E4 with all added grips. But hey, it is just my opinion, and if you enjoy using your camera with that hot shoe grip than it is all that matters, because we all have our own preferences!

    So here is my arc. I bought an xe4, had that for about two years, broke it, bought an XT50, didn't like the way the fifth gen sensor renders, went looking for another XE4, had a heart attack about the prices, then went and bought a new XT30ii with kit lens for half of what the secondary seems to think the XE is worth used.
    So far, it's like being home again but my basketball palming hands find it too tiny. A grip has been ordered and should help.
    Otherwise, I think between the huge recipe trove available for the fourth gen sensor and the way it renders, the 30ii is a good bet for someone who doesn't want the latest and greatest but also doesn't want the lack of connectivity you'd find in earlier models.
    I suppose in full disclosure I also bought an A7CR when the XE4 broke. I'm putting the 30ii and the CR in a battle Royale for a week to see who lives. It would be nice if I could sell out of E-mount entirely

      Thank you! Regarding being this camera a hybrid I wouldnt say so, basically because this camera doesnt have IBIS, the only solution is to use lens with OIS if you want to avoid using a gimbal, if you want a true hybrid camera check X-S20 as it has IBIS so it helps filming hand held a lot. This is a great review! One thing that I'm a little curious about, is that you talk about the fact that it's not a camera that you'd use as your A camera on a wedding for example. Why is that? • @ShotsByJev
      @ShotsByJev  10 місяців тому +1

      Thank you! Regarding weddings first of all this camera is way too compact to carry it around comfortably capturing wedding moments, then if you attach heavier lens it becomes front heavy. The last thing that would stop me is aps-c sensor, because I need low light performance, although everytime I take some low light images with this fuji I get amazed how it performs, so maybe in the future I will think about X-T4 for weddings

    I know this is a while ago but I’m at a crossroads. I have a 70D, it does the job but I’ve been wanting to move towards mirrorless. I’ve seen a lot of people recommend this camera but it’s quite a bit smaller than my current body and it would also mean starting from 0 with lenses. Can’t really afford the latest offerings from Sony but I’ve seen this camera £700 or so with a kit lens and have been really considering it. Would you say I would notice the difference enough to justify the change from a 70D to this?

      @ShotsByJev  5 місяців тому

      Hey! As a fuji user I must say that these aps-c cameras a pretty capable, the ISO performance is nice. Can't be 100% sure, but I believe it is better than on older Canon aps-c cameras. The size og X-T30II is small, yes, but it depends how you plan to use it. If for travelling then the size is great for that, if you want to use it for work then the small size might be an issue. In that case take a look at X-S10/20 as those cameras are with bigger grips while also has IBIS which is very usefull

      Yeah, the ISO is great although it still looses against full frame sensors (for example to my Sony A7iii) also if you have spare money look for X-S20 instead of X-S10 as it has better IBIS and bigger battery which is very usefull.

      @@ShotsByJev Can’t really justify the £1,000+ price tag to be honest as I will need to buy glass along with it.
      Found some X-S10’s second hand for similar prices to the X-T30 without the lens so I’m looking at £1,000 for both the body and the lens, a lottt of money but I’m going to Berlin in May next year so it’s definitely time for a smaller more light weight camera that I can take anywhere and still get great shots.
      The better IBIS would be great as would the battery but I’d sooner buy a few extra batteries to keep by my side than drop £1,400 on a camera 😂

      I went for 27mm because of the size mostly, also 23mm is a bit too wide for my taste, but I paid for that with darker aperture. So it depends on the needs. Also if there is option I would always go for native fujinon lenses i stead of third party unless there is significant price difference or budget limitation

    I love my XS-20 and it produces images that are equal or better than my Pentax K1 II, but my Pentax has an excellent viewfinder and my XS-20 viewfinder is way too small.
    I wish the XS-20 had the same viewfinder as the XH2-S.

      I get your point, thankfully for me I dont like shooting through viewfinder, so it doesnt bother me that much. But it is also understandable why in XH2-S it is better, because there should be the reason to spend more and get better camera. It is already cool that all Fuji camera comes with same sensor and processor across ine generation.

      No, no, no, I dont recommend this X-T30II for weddings, simply because it isnt as sturdy as Canon 6d for example. Sorry I left out that aspect, but as I wear glasses I shoot as much as possible without using EVF. For me its fine, not perfect, but then again I use Sony A7III for work and there is also a bit worse EVF than in other A7 models. The best part for me in mirrorless cameras is that you can comfortably shoot using lcd screen instead of evf :)

      X-T30II and X-E4 should habe the same EVF. I have/had both (sold my X-E4, could not resist the crazy selling prices and replaced it with the X-T30ll), the EVF is not too big but absolutely fine in my eyes. Directly compared to the X-T5 the size-difference is huge but the EVF of the 30ll is absolutely usable. Cheers!

    • @ShotsByJev
      @ShotsByJev  Рік тому

      Yeah, EVF on both X-T30II and X-E4 should deffinitelly be the same and it is also logical that it would be slightly worse than on X-T4 for example. Btw congrats on makong profits with X-E4, I think I would consider doing the same if I gone for X-E4 last year 😁

      Thank you! But I dont think that there should be dual slot, because on bigger Fujis there is ones, and this is small casual camera, so it is fine. There would be no point to have different models if the only difference would be in size. Also you can shoot raw+jpg to one card

    Hello! Thank you for providing this. I have had the x-t30 II since it came out. I replaced my x-t20. Some of the issues you have are the same I do, for example the placement of the play button. I don't shoot video but the video is beautiful! I see you are using the 27mm which is the lens that lives on the camera. I only wish the touch to shoot was a little more responsive. I don't use this feature often but sometimes when in crowded streets, I used this on my GX9 and it's way more responsive. FYI, I rented the X-E4 but I preferred the on board control features of the x-t30. Have you downloaded the new Fuji app yet? It's MUCH better!

      Thanks for such comprehensive comment! As your comment shows we all use our cameras a bit differently as I never tried touch to shoot function, but now I might! Regarding new Fuji app I want to try it, but I didnt manage to update camera software yet so it would be compatible with new app

      @@ShotsByJev I think you'll be amazed at how much better it is! Yes, touch to shoot I only use during very specific situations, for example when moving between crowded places very quickly or when I really need to be discreet. I would love to know how it works for you. I'm finding it a little slow, as I mentioned. Thanks for giving the X-T30 II some love!

    • @ShotsByJev
      @ShotsByJev  Рік тому +1

      How you imagine is possible to fit IBIS in such small body? There is no space for that in current body. Also 40mp sensor would be so unnecessary because now it is perfect casual camera. With 40mp images would take much more space for no reason

    • @geofff6671

      @@ShotsByJev it has a PASM setup and a fully articulated screen, which I don’t care for. It is not unreasonable to want an X-t40 with IBIS. All the X-Txx models so far have followed the X-Tx models with a smaller size, smaller viewfinder and drive dial but no ISO dial and a few less direct controls.
