Right now, he's desperately trying to win the World Cup. He's trying to close that gap with Messi so he can be considered as the GOAT, but he clearly has nothing left in the tank.
The "Leave the football before the football leaves you" quote is the best thing that Carragher has said in his punditry career, as it clearly was his experience and you can see it with Casemiro, Ronaldo etc now. Only very few players will ever perform at the elite level into their mid to late 30s.
Out of all the brilliant football minds and tacticians to exist, bro chose to quote Ronaldo's and Real Madrid's biggest perennial hater. Excellent research dude
@@Mecofmecsunlike ronaldo, messi has seen he can’t do what he could in the past and has adjusted to it, relying less on athletic ability and more on technique, so there would be no point as of right now
@@titanslammer they both have one assist and ones played 2 more games bc euros started earlier 💀also Messi is three years younger. Bros playing better defenders and they are still doubling him I wonder why 💀 teams/coaches/defenders/pudits know Ronaldo still has it. That’s the reason we’re speaking on Ronaldo when Messi has the same stats 🤷🏽♂️ fifa chose Messi, the world chose Ronaldo.
Now that i think about it, age is starting to catch up with my childhood heroes. Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Lewandowski, Modric, and even more players i could name. The level they once showed is slowly dissapearing, which makes me sad.
his problem is the obsession and jealousy he has over messi that he can't get over. if you notice since world cup 2022, ronaldo has been more emotional. even crying in meaningless camel league matches, and now recently the so-called "mentality monster" cried like a baby even though there was 15 mins left. i think when messi lifted the world cup trophy in 18 december 2022 and knowing ronaldo's obsession and jealousy.. something snapped inside of ronaldo that night for sure.
the only logical explanation for ronaldo refusing to retire is because he knows he must win both euro 2024 and world cup 2026 to overtake messi's international accomplishments. as it stands, messi has 1 world cup and 1 copa america, while ronaldo has only 1 euro. if he wins this euro, it will not be enough to equal messi, so he needs to win the world cup also. that's all considering messi doesn't win anymore tournaments. i think ronaldo crying after missing the pen was him realizing that his deluded
This is what age does to people. Ronaldo’s legacy will always be remembered but as of now people just see him as a joke now. It’s very sad to see since ronaldo was always one of my favorite players. It’s insane how a debate could change the way people view players. I think these tears though were him crying because he felt if portugal had lost all the blame would be on him and his legacy would change.
@@Vizeh It's the worst part about sports I feel. Star athletes aren't allowed to grow old because of their own legacies. They're expected to always be at the level they were in their prime and anything less is somehow betraying their fans. It's brutal
@@Vizeh I agree with you. But with his experience and being captain, I thought crying before the end of the game was not a good look nor good for the morale of the team in the middle of a match.
He has to retire, he's not a young man anymore if he leaves football he'll leave knowing he's made history as a player before he continues playing and spoils his career
As a portuguese, in Portugal, i can see a big division between people. a part of us looks at him as an idol, and that we have to respect him no matter what happens on the field, and we cannot accept that he is no longer the Ronaldo he was 5 or 10 years ago (I disagree) the other part (I agree), greatly admires what he did for our country, but can look at the situation in a minimally realistic way, in which what we see is Portugal wasting all the talented players in major competitions in favor of Ronaldo's ego and records, rather than the team's best.
I agree with that last statement, Portugal has amazing players, and to stop their success because of one player doesn't matter how great he was, It's just sad. And if Ronaldo doesn't see that, men, then he might be prouder than we thought.
I feel like you're just stating people vs media in there. As a fellow portuguese, most people I see that are invested in football and keeping up with our national team are definitly more critical of the tactics and of other players like Bernardo and Bruno (that are underperforming massibly), than of Ronaldo. Most of us came to accept that he is not the same, but he's still miles ahead of any player in his position. Moreover, many players have come forward criticizing the media for trying to make Ronaldo some kind of egotistical douch that is in the control of the national team and everyone hates him.
@@Kizzshoto how can you even say for sure the other striker options are worse considering they barely played during the qualifiers and maybe once or twice in friendlies? ofc you won't see improvement considering the teams and the tactics are built around having ronaldo as the striker, and while that may work against weaker sides, we're seeing the weaknesses the system has against not even the best teams in the world. a great team isn't built in an instant and we should definetly start considering having someone other than ronaldo as our striker unless he wants to embarass himself at the euros

No one wants Ronaldo to go out on a whimper after he missed his penalty. Yes he hasn't been playing well since the start of the tournament but him crying was brutal. At first it looked like this was the end of him but Diogo Costa had other ideas. Ronaldo wether you like him or not will gone down as one of the greatest player ever to play the game. For that, Ronaldo earns that acknowledgement from me.
He had 1 bad game against Slovenia. But I don’t see you talking about lukaku or mbappe or griezman as well as the Whole English team who had terrible performances so far.
Sometimes i wish post 2022 ronaldo never existed. Sometimes I wish, out of genuine love, that this man just decided to hang up his Nike mercurials and salvage what is left of his legacy.
I completely agree, like international football is Ronaldo's only chance to add anything to his legacy now he is playing in Saudi. So having back to back international performances like these literally hurt his legacy. I can only hope that Portugal somehow, literally somehow manage to win the tournament
Fair play though. To step up during that penalty shootout, first to take one for the team, after missing one 20 minutes previously, takes balls of steel.
That’s nothing special really. Even if the team’s penalty taker misses one in the match, he’ll still take either the first one or the last one in the shootouts. This is how it has been forever. Stop hyping up perfectly normal things.
@@jakescourage lol. If everyone is doing it, it's nothing special, you don't need to be a professional player to know that. It just takes a bit of common a sense, something ronaldo fans seem to lack. The gkazing is unreal even though he was trash in the last 2 tournaments

if the euro is that important he would stop shooting those shots… where in the fuck did you get from this entire euro that cr7 was playing for the team 😭 he has the most missed shots without a goal… he literally has like 3% fk ratio in the last like 3-4 years and he’s still taking them…
He actually gave assist bcz it was easy goal if he was young but he knew he couldn't score & had doubts but since this is Euro he didn't want to take risk here & Bruno was fully left open (which is also more sensible as it was 100% goal if Bruno was given assist)

@@WaddupYT It has always been Di Maria that has been Argentina's best player in the international tournaments and Ronaldo has scored a million high pressure penalties. They say Ronaldo only does it against low ranked international team, the majority of Messi's goals come against them too. They say he has missed chances....he used to miss chances at his peak too (he has barely had any clear cut chances this tournament btw). They say he cries...he has always cried. Comparing him to elite strikers at their peak currently? Harry Kane very underwhelming again. Anyone else free scoring in this tournament?
It's overlooked that the coach, Roberto Martinez, is the one selecting Ronaldo to start as the #9. He didn't start in the World Cup and clearly, the coach feels he's the best option right now. I think there's a false narrative out there that Ronaldo is forcing himself into the team when I'm not sure that's true.
@@Vizeh Very few players score a crazy amount of goals in the big international tournaments. @@stretfordendredwouldn’t really call messi’s international career before he won the World Cup underwhelming, considering he made 3 finals whilst usually scoring lots of goals and assisting a lot aswell. The only truly underwhelming tournaments would be wc 2010 and wc 2018
Martinez was signed to play ronaldo, if you think playing a 39 yo ronaldo for around 400 minutes, especially against georgia when you're rotating the rest of the squad is normal I dunno what to tell you, to me it's pretty obvious Ronaldo controls the national team, especially if you consider the last manager was sacked after famously dropping ronaldo in that world cup, ramos scoring 3, and the media starting to ask if he should be the starter for portugal
I appreciate the fact that he’s competing at almost 40 years old. He’s not great anymore but it’s still cool to see him go out there and give it his best.
The main problem that I had with Ronaldo in this game was him on the setpieces. I can understand why he took the freekick (only the closest to the great area) and the penalty. But the remained of the setpieces were in no condition to be directly hit to the net, especially the one that was perfect to do a dangerous cross
His reputation is GOATED. He's won everything except the WC and has NOTHING to prove. He can retire when he wants to. Everything else is just another cherry on top.
you’re very well spoken i agree with all of your takes on this! it was the saddest thing to see him like that and then when his mom appeared on the screen it broke me too. i really hope portugal wins the euros it would be amazing to see
Mother nature is undefeated, even Cristiano Ronaldo is going to lose this battle. His body accepted it, and slowly his mind too. His teammates were there for him when he was broken, they're were there for him when when he was crying at the bench injured in 2016. they deserve alot more respect than some people give them. team sport is not just about the superstars, its about what people can achieve together when they believe and work for a common goal. sometimes people forget that...
After Ronaldo missed that penalty, I just dropped my phone out of shock, I was literally sad too. As a Ghanaian, it reminded me of our hero, Asamoah Gyan's miss. One thing common about these 2 players is just snapping out of that brokennes and standing up to take the penalty first. thats one thing I couldn't do !
he mustve been just super let down by himself that he couldnt decide the game for his country then and there. people portray him as the selfish AH, but for his country he really fuckin tries. the fact that he cried because of the miss made him more human and relatable imo. someone who wasnt as keen on winning couldve laughed that away, and there are so many athletes with a weaker mentality than him.
Funny thing is he just recently explained that when he was crying he didn't think a second on his team or his country but instead it was again all about himself
Ronaldo was just sad because he thought he let his country hanging/ disapointed as he missed the penalty but I think he should still start as he can show character and probably that's why Goncalo Ramos isn't starting especially when they play against France next which wouldn't be optimal to change their number 9# and the media is exaggerating once again
They never should have started him against Georgia. The game didn’t matter much and he’s 39. If you are going to use him, and want to get the most out of him, you have to rest him…even if he doesn’t want to or claims he is fresh.
As if Ramos or Joao felix are better? They literally don’t play regularly for their clubs ☠️ Ronaldo played very well most of the games this tournament, he only lacks goals
I’m a messi fan, but I consider both players goats, and at the same level. Ronaldo is ageing; it’s no surprise his footballing ability is degrading. We should not be criticising him now, when he’s at the near end of his career, more than when he was say, in his prime. It’s natural occurrence, and I say let us just enjoy the last dances of these 2 players that have etched their legacy in the history books ❤❤❤ Great vid as always vizor man 🎉❤
Same thoughts as yours. Being a Messi fan myself it hurts to see CR7 getting a lot a stick. He is human after all and age will always catch up to us regardless of fame and status but if anyone can get out of this as positive it’s definitely Cristiano Ronaldo himself
I agree, I’m more inclined towards Ronaldo, however him and Messi are 1A and 1B. The 2 greatest of all time. Period. No one else comes close, when they retire I hope people put aside their dislike of either one and appreciate the greatness we were able to witness

Dude, Ronaldo always cries he cried throughout his entire career so this is nothing new. He cried because he thought he let down Portugal because the team wont go through. I guarantee you had Portugal were up in that game he would not cry for missing. The man is just that passionate, he was always like that.
His passion is undoubtedly amazing but now its time for him to accept that he no longer is the same guy he used to be at Madrid and he should set aside his ego and let younger players have their time. Or atleast he should come on as a substitution, only then he might be able to make difference.

I think you can see it in Messi and Ronaldo's game, they aren't broken simply aging. It isnt a bad thing, father time is undefeated in any sport. The extra level, that certain bit that made them better just dims with age. Regardless of who you think is better, just appreciate the fact that we got to witness a level of dominance in a sport that was unlike any other we have seen since maybe Jordan. Two mega talents going head-to-head for the world to see, supreme talents in their prime that made the best look less than. The run's Messi would go on then finish it off with a well-placed shot or pass, Ronaldo appearing to climb a ladder off of a corner to lift Madrid. It was truly something special and thankful I got to see it. I am in my 30s and nothing makes you feel old like a guy you watched early doors or get drafted in the NFL go into the Hall of Fame lol
People say this every time. But he's an emotional man. He wears his heart on his sleeve. So if he's upset youll see him in tears. And people love him because he's so passionate.
I saw the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup in Barcelona in 2017. Messi and Ronaldo both played. I'm obviously not saying Messi isn't great but on that evening, IMO Ronaldo was the best player on the pitch, and you have to bear in mind some of the other massive names there too (Suarez, Iniesta, Benzema, Bale, Kroos, Ramos...) Ronaldo scored and then got sent off. In reaction, he took his shirt off and strolled around showing off his abs to the whole of the Nou Camp. He loved being the villain that night. Complete showman. Class act and made it an evening to remember. You cannot deny he is one of the greats.
I was shocked from the first Portugal game. At United. I thought the decline was Ten Hag being silly asking Ronaldo to _”track back”_ Now I see it’s just age. Crazy as he’s probably fitter than 99% of the world’s population is. Goes to show how powerful youth is.
it isn't that, it's all mental, he might be 39 but his body is still good enough for football, but his mind isn't. Ronaldo in 2020 and 2021 was one of the world's top strikers at Juventus and Man United, he delivered every single matchday and carried both of these teams when he was already over the age of 35, but then 2022 came, the disrespect started, from the manager, from the players, from the staff, from the fans... when his son died, it broke him, and Liverpool fans cared more about that than anybody else, more than the united fans and more than the whole team. The constant disrespect made him feel like he wasn't good enough, like age was getting to him, when just a few years before he was one of the best strikers in the world. He then went to Piers Morgan for the interview, and he didn't step down, he said everything he had going around his mind, everything about Man United and everything about himself. Then he went to the world cup, jobless and hopeless, people thought that would be his last tournament, the pressure was there... then he got benched against Switzerland for Gonçalo Ramos, and it worked, Ramos scored a hattrick, this also added to his mind, did Portugal still need him? Man United clearly didn't, what if Portugal didn't either? what if he wasn't good enough anymore? Then the game against Morocco arrived, Ronaldo didn't start against Morocco, and we know what happened, Gonçalo Ramos disappeared completely, and when they needed Ronaldo the most, he was there... on the bench, wondering if it was over for him, if he was good enough, if he had failed his country, and sure enough, Portugal lost. He tried to find a new club all around Europe, but no one was willing to take him on his wages, so the question got to him once again, was he good enough? He had to go to Saudi Arabia, and the situation did get better, he was scoring goals there and his mind was getting back on track, but the question still remained the same, was he good enough? The Saudi League isn't particularly difficult, and he played well in the euro qualifiers so he was gonna start for Portugal in the euros, was this his opportunity to redeem himself? To show that he was still good enough for the european level? And as we all know, it wasn't... The pressure got to him, he missed the penalty and with it his hope of proving himself on the big stage vanished, he got knocked out, no goals, he had failed his country once again. In the end, he didn't fail his country, and he's still good enough, but he doesn't think that, these last 2 years with the amount of hatred and doubt from literally everyone made Ronaldo think he wasn't good enough, and like he himself said, if you don't believe you will achieve anything, you won't. So Ronaldo won't ever go back to that form he had even when he was old, he will never go back to being good enough for Europe, not because of his age, but because of his mentality, it was broken since 2022 but this is the final nail in the coffin, all his confidence is gone, and sure, he can score in the Saudi League, but if he comes back to the International stage in 2026, he will crumble under the pressure once again. sorry for the essay 💀
@@gewnurbno it's body that won't do what he wants anymore, he's slower and stiffer than he was a few years ago. He also didn't do it for United every game, he was anonymous for most games but would pop up with a goal or food performance every now and then to boost the PR. His physical limitations were showing then, as well as his petulance. United gave him compassionate leave in 2022, still paying him £2m a month, and he used that time to try to broker a transfer away behind their backs. He even fell out with his loyal servant and PR Guru Jorge Mendes over it and eventually sacked him. Under Ten Hag he was awful, and only scored 1 in 10 matches in the prem, then acted like a spoiled child when he didn't play every minute and did that embarrassing interview with Morgan, acting like he was the victim of United and Ten Hag when he was the one who was screwing them over. This was a massive PR headache for the club and Ten Hag got abused for the situation. Fast forward and Ronaldo played 10 games for Portugal in tournaments and scored 1 goal. Guess he was the problem.
If anything the man is too healthy for 39. I recommend a strict Bonucci- esque regimen of Heineken and Coca Cola. Even the legendary Antonin Panenka took a good swig of Pilsner Urquell beer before his famous penalty. On the pitch no less. Things were different in the '70s. In fact I think you were technically allowed to smoke while playing until the early '90s.
I'm a Ronaldo fan through and through when his missed that penalty I felt a knot in my stomach man, I just kept thinking not like this man. When he scored that pen the knot unwinded. I really appreciate the moments I've watched him and Messi rip it up in Laliga. I don't know if there's anyone else who I admire as him in the sport if he retires it will be something else man. Aging is literally normal . Whys there such a big deal surrouding this. Portugal have always been average and when he was prime theres no denial he did good for them. Leave em alone now. Its just hard to accept its over but it is .❤
It's not only the freekicks, it's the constant going for ball when another teammate is better positioned to have it, whether to shoot or to pass. If I was Bruno Fernandes I'd be fuming at Ronaldo
Just because someone has a bad euro performance doesn't mean it's over. He is literally the top goal scorer in 23/24 season. And his performance wasn't even that bad, he made good runs and was always their for chances.
Exactly. And look at England they have Bellingham, Kane, Foden and Saka and they couldn’t score against Slovenia. I don’t see anybody saying those players need to be benched. The hatred for Ronaldo is unreal.
I agree. RONALDO will play up until the next world cup. I called it from the last World Cup. Messi winning it, there is no way RONALDO will let that go without giving it his absolute BEST to add that cup to his name.
you do still realize cr7 would need to win POTT, score 8 goals and get 4 assists to have a better tournament than messi in his win right? (cr7 has 0 POTT and after this euro is 100% gonna be a super sub unless portugal want to lose until he retires)
After watching the game Portugal vs Slovenia, I rewatched Portugal vs Spain Russia World Cup. Im not defending Ronaldo, but this is the man that is face of Portugal. We might as well take Pele seriously.
@@claudecarlyle9284 All those you have mentioned never scored all these in competitive matches. And penalties is a crucial part of the game. Those penalties costed Messi 1 Copa America and 2 champions leagues. And third Ronaldo scored across Spain England and Italy. No other player has achieved this.
@@Thekingslayer-ig5se Never said that penalties weren't important, I said Ronaldo has scored 50 more penalties because he has been AWARDED 50 more penalties. Not sure which CLs were lost by Messi missing a penalty. He never took a pen in a CL final - if you're referring to 2012 semis, that's a bit of a stretch; it's like saying Ronaldo did the same by missing against Bayern in the same year or cost Portugal by missing the penalty against Iran in 2018 and giving them the hardest knockouts. And that's not the debate with highest scorers. Those players - like Bican or Helmchen - did play professional football. The debate is whether regional leagues should count or not. Some would argue that they should count if a player with the profile of Messi/Ronaldo can go to USA/Saudi...others would restrict it to major leagues relative to their era. But that raises issues because if we exclude Helmchen, then technically we should exclude Pele in South America given the regional stratification of that system, which doesn't seem right, but then we have to include Bican and Helmchen etc., hence the controversy.

I would have a beer with Messi, NEVER with Mr. Ego himself. Imagine having to listen to all his wins and goals and how pretty he is all night long. The guy is a narcisstic bore.
In my opinion, I think it's because he worked so hard to become a player, that he doesn't know what life without being a player is like. That's why he hasn't retired yet.

@@manbutron2232 "Harassing him" nope, not having that, for a start it's been barely 48 hours. As a Portuguese and as a person who sees ronaldo as a hero, i can say this : Fernando Santos was sacked , not only because we played poorly with the players that we had , but because he tried to create a future for Portugal without ronaldo . The criteria of the search for the new Portugal coach only had one goal : make sure that was not an issue with ronaldo start every ,single , game. I love ronaldo , i truly do , and i think he is a lot better this last games that people painted it to be , but lets face it : he is not nearly as good as he was.
Honestly the biggest attribute of ronaldo is his presence in the box and that scares defenders and opens up space for the portuguese players no matter if ronaldo scores, he still at this age provides something positive for portugal
I like Ronaldo he's a legend but the guy is earning £3.4M per week he's earning all that cash playing in the Saudi retirement league I think CR7 still has something left in the tank at 39 years old he still can score goals although against Saudi players. If he makes it to the 2026 world he will be in his early 40s.
the media show him as the player that can do anything. he was able to do everything but at 39 he is playing as a main striker for not the best country in football. the way he took 4 freekicks wasnt right, especially the second one that should've been crossed in and missing a pen and crying was abit out of place. media shows him as bad as soon as has a bad game. bbc wrote "misstiano penaldo" when he missed a pen after a few years. yes he is a good player but the way the media treats him is bad. if this was the same for messi this would've not made the news or shown just as a bad game. this has a high chance to be his last international tournament and could've been his last game. media show some respect
Messi got absolutely destroyed for years for his performances for Argentina, especially 2015 and 2016. Difference is the English media has more clear connection to him so he’s much more easier to cover
Can anyone explain why Ronaldo cried in that game? I mean he has lost bigger games and bigger finals than this. He has missed more crucial penalties than this and he moved on without a drop of tear. But why now? Why cry after missing a penalty against Slovenia (Still not losing) and losing in Arab cup final. The answer will tell you that he's in a deep mental unstability of not being able to come terms to the reality that his time is over and in the end he didn't have things going his way like it once did.
@@theemotionalremix Not at 39 bro. Are you dumb? 🤣🤣 He's better physically than 99% of non professional athletes on their 20s. That's what you lose the most when you go into you mid 30s. That's why he's finished.
Moneyball was right. We’re all told that we can’t play the children’s game anymore. Some are told young some are told when they’re older, but we’re all told.

One thing about ronaldo is I think he mentally collapsed in 2022 with the united pierse morgan saga , he lost his mind . His nerves got the better of him because in qatar his level was absolute shit and after that it seems age and frustration really got to him . Thats the sad thing in 2021 he was top 3 strikers in the world , in 2022 he really wasnt a top class striker anymore and that cant be physical decline , its mental . I watch other sports and I can see a guy like Djokovic at 37 , federer when he was 38 , lebron at 40 the physical is an abstacle that can be overcome but the mental part these guys they have shown more strenght than cr7
Firstly, he wasn't a top 3 striker in 2021. Lewandowski, Kane, Benzema off top of my head; Haaland was almost there...and Ronaldo was making teams worse even at Juve. And I know you'll say that Ronaldo scored more than Kane, but look at xG, shots-per-goal, how many games those goals came in and against who, the droughts, opportunity cost...Also ignoring Salah, Son, Mbappe as goalscoring forwards rather than pure strikers. Secondly, it's a physical decline. Messi after WC was burned out. Look at him 12 months after; injuries creeping up on him, doesn't recover from games as quick. Messi knew his powers were waning after 2019 and cleverly prioritised international football while mostly coasting in Paris. I remember reading numerous journalists and biographers a decade ago predicting that Ronaldo would struggle to negotiate his physical decline and retirement based on their observations of his personality, and they've been vindicated.
Imo he was world class until the end of his first manchester united season (2021-22). Imo, his downfall started in 2022 (like you said) and yeah, it seems more mental than physical.

the other part (I agree), greatly admires what he did for our country, but can look at the situation in a minimally realistic way, in which what we see is Portugal wasting all the talented players in major competitions in favor of Ronaldo's ego and records, rather than the team's best.

As a fellow portuguese, most people I see that are invested in football and keeping up with our national team are definitly more critical of the tactics and of other players like Bernardo and Bruno (that are underperforming massibly), than of Ronaldo. It's overlooked that the coach, Roberto Martinez, is the one selecting Ronaldo to start as the #9. He didn't start in the World Cup and clearly, the coach feels he's the best option right now. Ronaldo has played well, his link up play has been good and if he gets proper chances he will score. He used to miss sitters even at his peak (like every player including Messi). So magnifying everything in this tournament does not necessarily mean he is finished.

I thank God everyday that Portugal won that day, it saved Ronaldo.
At United. I thought the decline was Ten Hag being silly asking Ronaldo to _”track back”_
Now I see it’s just age.

I love ronaldo , i truly do , and i think he is a lot better this last games that people painted it to be , but lets face it : he is not nearly as good as he was.
That's not true at all in Qatar they started Ronaldo up until they got knocked out
@@declangaming24false
@@TigerWoods707 nah didn't he start most of the games
Honestly the biggest attribute of ronaldo is his presence in the box and that scares defenders and opens up space for the portuguese players no matter if ronaldo scores, he still at this age provides something positive for portugal
I like Ronaldo he's a legend but the guy is earning £3.4M per week he's earning all that cash playing in the Saudi retirement league I think CR7 still has something left in the tank at 39 years old he still can score goals although against Saudi players. If he makes it to the 2026 world he will be in his early 40s.
Aged well after the Bicycle and Brace vs Poland.
Pr1ck thinks he’s old at 25 😂
I used to really not like Ronaldo, but this still hits very hard😢I can't even imagine the way he felt after seeing his fans disappointed at him
the media show him as the player that can do anything. he was able to do everything but at 39 he is playing as a main striker for not the best country in football. the way he took 4 freekicks wasnt right, especially the second one that should've been crossed in and missing a pen and crying was abit out of place. media shows him as bad as soon as has a bad game. bbc wrote "misstiano penaldo" when he missed a pen after a few years. yes he is a good player but the way the media treats him is bad. if this was the same for messi this would've not made the news or shown just as a bad game. this has a high chance to be his last international tournament and could've been his last game. media show some respect
Messi got absolutely destroyed for years for his performances for Argentina, especially 2015 and 2016.
Difference is the English media has more clear connection to him so he’s much more easier to cover
@@Vizeh messi even retired in 2016 but that isnt as big of a deal as cr7 getiing becnhed in a very debatable world cup against SUI and MAR
Because he knows he's finished. When you get to a certain age, every bone in your body starts to hurt.
@@theemotionalremix Not at 39 bro. Are you dumb? 🤣🤣 He's better physically than 99% of non professional athletes on their 20s.
But at a high professional level like top europe leagues and euros/world cups he doesn't have it anymore. Ronaldo's game always relied on pace, acceleration and quick movements. That's what you lose the most when you go into you mid 30s. That's why he's finished.
To clarify Jamie Carragher was talking about Casemiro
It applies to every football player
@@fishyfish6510 i know but some people think Jamie is hating or whatever
Moneyball was right. We’re all told that we can’t play the children’s game anymore. Some are told young some are told when they’re older, but we’re all told.
The epitome of Ronaldo's mindset is the fact that he missed that pen, yet he was the first to step up (AND SCORE) the first Portugal pen. His legacy can never be tarnished IMO, SIUUUUUUUU!
Felt so happy for Ilicic when he came on only to feel crushed when he missed aswell
I can only imagine what he is going through now. He doesn't deserve this
Sadly, age will always catch up with you
He should have retired from international duty after the World Cup in Qatar. He’s done it to himself sadly.
He does
@@Vizehyep
He may well persists on and try to score 1000 goals... good for him, though I'm afraid the images which persists on in people's mind are of him crying over and over again these last couple years. Sad to see someone fall from such height sigh
Penaldo always tries to get the spotlight, so he did everything to do it...he forget how he hummiliates messi when he won euro 2016...
Whos penaldo
Im a messi fan, but in that game i could see how Ronaldo would be upset he's grown to the game and the game plays with his emotions and icl it hit me and it's almost as if i felt how he was feeling there in a way, ive always had respect for Ronaldo
Hey he was not crying because he misses that penalty, he was crying because he saw his mother crying. There is a rules, never celebrate too fast against Ronaldo. Remember in the Premier League at the age of 37 when they all said he was finished what he did then he went all and destroyed Tottenham single handlely. Antonio Conte even said, he lose against Ronaldo not Manchester United. When he was crying because he saw his mother crying. The media and UA-camr got great opportunities to fain views with that and start to make unwanted story
He got benched and and went to saudi cause no big team wanted him
@@footballstats9127 Probably since they wanted a long term striker, and since Ronaldo could not turn down one of the largest contracts in Sports History.
@@manbutron2232 the other guy said that people said ronaldo s finished and he proved them wrong which is total nonsense.
I agree, that 2nd season at United broke him. Especially when Bruno even went to to say they are better without him publicly 😭
He dragged a dead juve team to the ucl. Without him , juve wouldn't even reach top 6 in 2021 .@@claudecarlyle9284
Imo he was world class until the end of his first manchester united season (2021-22). Imo, his downfall started in 2022 (like you said) and yeah, it seems more mental than physical.
@@claudecarlyle9284Ronaldo clearly knows better than you.
Messi and Ronaldo made football look easy and they were the best for so long that seeing them get older (I don’t wanna say getting worse because age catches up to everyone and they can’t do much about it) is really tough even though I’m a big Messi fan Ronaldo is still one of the greats and it’s sad to see
Messi winning the world cup really messed him up! 😂😂😂
loving these videos atm Vizeh keep it up man! 🙌🏻
What’s sad is UA-camrs making a living using Ronaldo to click bate, then trash the one that feeds them ! That’s sad ! Kids behind a computer that never kicked a ball at profesional level, maybe even amateur level ! Try scoring 890 goals buddy , be the best player and top scorer in 4 different professional leagues , with different languages and cultures ! Win 5 ballon d’ or ! Give your heart and soul , to your chosen sport, always aiming to be better and even with all and everyone against you , keep going and shut the haters mouths ! And he didn’t go to the MLS at 35 ! At 35 Ronaldo was top scorer in Italy with Juventus ! They said he was finished then also ! That’s a GOAT ! That’s something you can learn from Ronaldo ! What was Garragher doing at 35 ? What is he doing now ? Still trashing Ronaldo , a player , a fellow from the same profession , it’s just jealousy ! Disgusting 🤮🤮🤮
You are the best one here mate. The best comment !! These guys are just milking money out of his name. Ronaldo has had a dream career which 99.99% can only dream of. Clearly the greatest European player ever. Arguably easily in the top 5 or even top 3. It’s just that people can’t accept the fact that a guy with brute discipline hard work and dedication can play football for 22 years. They just can’t believe that. That why they are angry
@@Thekingslayer-ig5se💯💯💯💯💯
I kinda vibed with that comment until i read the typical "the whole world is against my idol😢😭". Also similar age is irrelevant. Why you bringing messi is this. Messi lived rent free in the cr7 fanboys heads. In fact messi lives rent free even in ronaldo's head
@@giannismargaris9553 the media bias is there towards Messi whether you like it or not. And Messi is never in Ronaldo’s head. Ronaldo is Ronaldo and Messi is Messi. Two great titans of the sport. It’s all you fanboys who make the sound
@@Thekingslayer-ig5se the truth is that because messi and Ronaldo as both titans of the sport, it is for the greater benefit of the huge corporations to promote them. Ronaldo didnt miss oblak saved it
Now you got me super excited for the game against France tomorrow
Fuck all of you, you judge Cristiano and tell him to abandon his life's work and biggest passion in favor of what? Memories of better times, pictures and media headlines? Ronaldo built all of that you call legacy with the drive and fire of a desire no ordinary man can reach, he will not bow down to conformist and mediocre fans who think dusty ballon d'ors and 'legacies' can outweigh his desire to keep fighting and keep driving forward.
The records and the achievements of old helped, but this desire and fire Ronaldo has is what made him my GOAT. There will come another talent who wins 8 ballon d'ors and a World Cup and whatnot, but there will never be another man who built himself and fought tooth and nail to keep himself as one of the greats in football. You spit on his legacy a lot more than his move to Saudi Arabia ever could.
So we should all bend down for one human? This is international stage, a stage that requires patriotism and correct decisions. Portugal will always be more important than one person
There will be another talent who gets 8 Balon Dors? 🤡😂 keep dreaming lil bro. Ronaldo fans STILL obsess over Messi and its downright sad at this point. Dont for 1 second say that Ronaldos 'mentality' is more important than anything Messi has done. Stop lying to yourself and accept the fact that Ronaldo will always be seen as the 2nd best of his generation. You Ronaldo fangirls are literally writing paragraphs to convince yourself of his greatness while Messi fans just laugh at you trying to make up your own narratives 😂 the Ronaldo fanbase is TRULY in the mud since Messi won the world cup. All Ronaldo has done is cry and make headlines for the wrong reasons and his fanbase have damaged his legacy even more by being as immature and childish as he has. Both of you cant accept defeat with grace and the way its going for Ronaldo right now id suggest he retires before it gets even worse for him.
