Looking back at the career of Messi and everything he has shown and done on the pitch, what he has produced in output and won on top of all that, there is no shame in Ronaldo coming 2nd to such an alien. Trophies? The same as the previous point, Messi has won in his greatest successes: World Cup, Copa America, LaLiga, Champions League, Club World Cup, Uefa Super Cup. Ronaldo: Euro Cup, Champions League, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, LaLiga but also the Premier League (The Most Competitive of All Leagues) and Serie A (The Most Defensive Ligue) not to mention that Ronaldo won all his titles being the best Unlike Messi, he won a champions league, being irrelevant (2006), two leagues in Spain and one in France the same, as well 2 super cups, but that is something irrelevant. The fact that proves messi's superiority is that even though the stats lean towards him the stats dont justify his performance completely. While ronaldo has a very little to offer aside stats
Second best for me is Johan Cruyff, because of his influence on the pitch. He was probably the most intellectual player in terms of football iq. He was the Player to play in most complicated System(Total Football). At least to get near to that and he was the one why this System was functionated.(Example 1974 WC)... And of course the greatest player of all time is Messi. No debate.

@@gerardomalazdrewicz7514bro mentioning just goals isnt fair imo goals, assists and key passes should also be included in a comparison still tho messi is miles ahead of every other footballer ever
Footballers have done what ronaldo can do, messi is not from this planet. His play style cannot be replicated which is why its very hard to take inspiration from him. This is exactly why the debate is still going on. Ronaldo is more famous for attracting casual crowd and his big muscles that has nothing to do with his football. The casuals can see and understand ronaldo's games easily and ofcourse they look at only stats online or from reels and think he must be greatest, that's why he brings a little more following than messi. But anybody who has watched ball regardless of whoever in their opinion is the greatest, i believe if u are not delusional u know factually messi is the greatest to do it in history and me personally believe historically in the same category the close second to messi should be a phenomenon like pele not cr7.
@@somkon7721 I'll name players who have done better than ronaldo in Ronaldo's strengths, goal scoring: pele and messi (lots of goals with infinitely better ratios and finishing), long power shot ability: Roberto Carlos , knuckle ball ability: juninho (Probably the greatest free kick taker ever) Penalties: harry kane, Lewandowski (have converted wayy more percentage of penalties than cr7 throughout their career), bicycle kick: Zlatan and gareth bale (bale scored a better bicycle than cr7's, zlatan's is probably the best in history)
@amethystguy65 my friend you just gave me multiple players not a single player that matches Ronaldo even when we take Messi 's assist in account puskas has more of those. Ronaldo has more goals so what are you saying?
@@somkon7721 officially only messi has it, it's like how u can inflation pele with 1200+ goals. Ronaldo ain't the top scorer anymore then. Also I would rather have the most assists in football history and 850 goals, with better goal ratios personally. Also u didn't read my original comment, i have simply stated what Ronaldo does is not something unique no footballer can do. Ronaldo has done it longer. But literally nobody can be messi man. That vision, passing, playmaking, his dribbling technique, nobody can dribble like messi. Nobody can make it look so effortless. Legends like Zidane say if I saw the game 1 sec ahead, messi was atleast 3 secs ahead. His footballing brain is not from this planet. Imagine being the greatest dribbler, the greatest playmaker and the greatest goalscorer put into one dominating every statistics and awards. Take away Ronaldo's goalscoring he can't do anything in a game, messi can be the best on the pitch even if he doesn't score or assist.
Two things that really bother me in this discussion is when peole do the talent vs hardwork, and some people whowhen they are going to compare their playstyles, treat Ronaldo like if he was always the number 9 that he became later, ignoring the differences between how he played at United, or even the the first years of Real Madrid. I've also seen people who would treat Messi in a way that to me sounded like they are saying he was always a midfielder, even if during some of his best moments at Barcelona he was playing as a false 9 or a winger, but these are way less common.
@@peepeepoopoo9453you need to understand that a good majority of people chronically online right now were like 6 years old when ronaldo won his 2nd ucl in 2014. you really start watching the sport properly with understanding from a later age, so they probably werent even properly watching until lockdown. there are many ridiculous takes online which gather thousands of likes but you gotta deal with it. this is still wayy better than the stinking tiktok ball knowledge, thats such horrendous
That's why its called a 'False9' fr a reason. He was not playing the traditional number 9 penalty box striking role like fr instance what Haaland or Cr7 in his older years plays like.If at all u watched those barca games under Pep,he still used to drop deep into midfield n link up plays with Xavi n Iniesta all whilst pushing forward in attack n finishing the moves at the back of the net.He only played the false 9 role during the 2011-2012 season when David Villa had that unfortunate knee injury that kept him out fr most of the season n the better part of 2012.Pep on realising that vacuum engineered that ingenious tactic of deploying Messi that false 9 role by taking advantage of Messi's versatility n it worked perfectly. Its the season that Messi ended up with a record breaking of 73 goals in a single season in all competitions n a 91 calendar year goals to his name in 2012.The rest of the seasons he had real number 9 strikers upfront so there was no need fr him to play the false 9 again even though he still outscored those strikers in his teams apart from his Psg stint. In 2013,Villa returned n left in 2014 where Suarez came in and took over that striking mantle and as we know the rest is history.Suarez played with messi till 2020 when he departed n frthe all, that time together he was both the clubs playmaker but still scoring tonnes of goals. From 2005-2009 he hadwas Samuel Etoo as the striker,2010 Ibrahimovich n after the fall out with Pep,Villa took over in 2011.So this narrative that messi has been playing as a false 9 that's why he has many goals is absolute BS! He has been scoring those goals coz he's that good n a genius.
@@desmondachocky537 I know that a false 9 is different than a traditional number 9, but a false 9 is still a foward and not a number 10. What I was saying is that at some points, I saw people arguing in Messi's favor that he was scoring all these goals playing as a midfielder, while was Ronaldo was a foward, even though for a good part of his best moments, Messi was playing as a false 9 or a winger, and not as a number 10. Of course Messi is a genius, and even if I like Ronaldo more, I recognize he is ahead of him, the point was just about the arguments I've heard in this discussion that bothered me
yep, this stupid ass myth that inbred ronaldo fans made up, "Ronaldo is all hard work", "Messi is all talent". You ABSOLUTELY REQUIRE both to become an all time great in any sport or ANYTHING in life.
Ronaldo celebrate by suii which symbolize " yes I did it again and again like pro" but Messi celebrate by spreading arms and also Pointing up which symbolize "greatest of all, like god of football it was easy for him"
lets just spit the facts here ronaldo need 5 skills to dribble one player messi needs 1 skill to dribble 5 players tell me this is not facts. what a beautiful play created by messi with just one skill
Take away all the stats, titles, trophies and honors for both and then you'll see how much better Messi just is. Even at 37, he's still a lethal footballer. The same can't be said for Ronaldo who has been on a decline. He relied on his speed and power so much and age just catched up. While Leo evolved. He knew speed and those team killing water strider dribblings won't do him good if he overusues it, so he became a playmaker. But when he needs to dribble past multiple opponents in a flash, he does it flawlessly. Leo's vision also became better with age. His pinpoint passing with those vision plus his football intelligence, all that made him even more dangerous without even running much. And he inspires everyone playing with him. What I'm trying to say is Leo is just light-years ahead of everyone else.
If you took all of messis goal and divided them by three and left all the assists , he'd still be regarded as greater than zidane , xavi , iniesta , platini , zico , and ronaldinho , I don't think theres anything that speaks for Ronaldo in such a way tbh
Ronaldo is still better. I don't see a player who can keep as much consistency through out his career as Cristiano. In his younger years he dominated the Premier League, La Liga , Serie A , Saudi Leauge 38+ year old.

Ngl true
Name one singular footballer

For real people only think of ronaldo as a 9 but it only played bcoz of an injury and at the end of his careet

@@Yami1300and Messi is in a game to game ratio he’s better
You could literally say the same about ronaldo such a dumb point bcoz those players weren’t even playing for stats
Ronaldo is still better. I don't see a player who can keep as much consistency through out his career as Cristiano. In his younger years he dominated the Premier League, La Liga , Serie A , Saudi Leauge 38+ year old.
And he has won a fair share of Trophys in every single one of them.

Argentina 2022 world cup: The Strategy was to PASS TO MESSI
Messi clears and the stats n achievements backs it up, it's not really close as ppl say. These are their current stats:
Most goal contribution of all time is Messi. Messi has 815 goals and 357 assists (1,172 in total g+a) in 1,033 appearances while cr7 has 838 goals and 236 assists (1,080 in total g+a) in 1,168 appearances. Messi has 138 less appearances than cr7 and still performed better
Messi has 64 freekick goals (cr7 has 60) Messi has 89 outside the box goals (cr7 has 63) Messi has 314 man of the matches (cr7 has 173)
In all time top 5 leagues stats (in Europe) Messi has 496 goals and 222 assists (718 in total) with 578 appearances, cr7 has 495 goals and 140 assists (635 in total) with 626 appearances
In all time club (excluding friendlies) Messi has 707 goals and 304 assists (1,011 in total) with 855 appearances. Cr7 has 715 goals and 203 assists (918 in total) with 968 appearances
Messi and cr7 in la liga (all competitions): Messi with 472 goals and 177 assists (649 in total) with 476 appearances while cr7 has 450 goals and 120 assists (570 in total) with 438 appearances
H2H games against each other: Messi has 22 goals and 12 assists (34 in total) with 36 appearances (both of them have 36 appearances ofc) cr7 has 21 goals and 1 assists (22 in total) Messi has 16 wins over cr7 while cr7 has 11 wins.
People like to bring up age about how "at 35 cr7 was a Juventus while Messi is at mls" you have to realize that Messi already completed everything that needed to be completed. Then cr7 fans say that cr7 did better even tho 35 yr old cr7 had 722 goals and 217 assists (939 in total) with 995 appearances while Messi has 769 goals and 331 assists (1,100 in total) with 974 appearances. I don't get why cr7 fans bring up age when it clearly shows that Messi is still better
Stats at age 36 (since Messi jus turned 36): messi has 807 goals and 357 assists (1,164 in total) with 1,028 appearances while cr7 at 36 had 762 goals and 225 assists (987 in total) with 1043 appearances (this in itself shows that messi is better)
Btw Messi has 702 goals without pens while cr7 has 686 Goals and assists in finals: messi has 34 goals and
15 assists (49 in total) while cr7 has 22 goals and 2 assists (24 in total). yet ppl say messi "ghosts" in finals El clásico goals and assists: Messi has 26 goals and 14 assists (40 in total) while cr7 has 18 goals and 1 assist (19 in total)
