Listen man, you helped me complete an install today. Without this video I wouldn't have been able to finish the job. She paid me cash. Without this extra money I dont think I would've made rent this month. All I can do is drop a like and subscribe, but I thank you truly, from the bottom of my heart.
If every UA-camr could do videos with detailed explanations like u bruh, most people won't need to be going to school. This is excellent, thanks so much UberGeeks .
This was the most helpful video that I have seen as it pertains to setting up a wireless bridge. I am not a computer expert, so having someone take the time to explain it thoroughly using Windows control panel was very helpful. Thank you so much for making this video.
Excellent video. Clear. Covers everything one needs to know. And we can HEAR you. So many try to do helpful videos but they do not tend to their voice and often we cannot hear what is being said. Your voice volume is GREAT.
I configured the A station but when I went to do the B, the "Hello" SSID doesn't show up on my list of addresses....? Tried redoing the whole A setup and it still isn't showing when I try the B. What am I doing wrong???
You're a great teacher. You teach with the beginner in mind. I am trying this out today. My question: Does the radio has to be mounted above the building for a clear line of sight?
great videos. Do you have a setup video to do a bridge form A to B and then B to C and B to D? I am trying to share my ISP from my house to my office in another building across street and then have the office bridge to 2 other buildings in opposite directions. I could get the bridge from router in A to B working with a switch in B to connect the Station to along with my pc and NVR, but the bridge AP connected to this switch doesn't seem to work. So hoping you have something to show this... I'm guessing its a issue with IP's or using the same switch for the injection to B side AP's to C and D so that I have 1 Station and 2 AP radio on same switch.
Cannot do A to B, then B to C and B to D. The B is a "station", which means B does not send out bandwidth. A is "Access Point", which sends out bandwidth. Meaning, the C and D configuration will be "station" and they are looking for A the "Access Point".
What you can do is. A to B From B, into unmanaged POE switch. Then have another B.1 connect to the same unmanaged POE switch. Have B.1 send signal to C and to D.
Thank you so much , amazing tutorial for amateurs like me. Do you know if there are any tutorials which explain how to set antennas/two bridges to get full signal ? Thanks a lot again !!
Great video, thank you! I am setting up the B side, but no SSID is showing up for my A side when I press "scan" even though the popup shows 3 other networks. I have my A side ca le connected to POE, not LAN, and B to POE and my computer.
I'm a bit confused on one part of your diagram (on the piece of paper). On the B side the yellow wire from the Loco going into the POE port of the injector (hence it's getting the power). You have listed on your diagram a CAMERA POE with the blue wire. You have already used up the POE on the injector. I don't see how the POE Camera is getting power in this situation by plugging it into the LAN port? I assume you'll need second POE injector and you would plug another cable from LAN to LAN on both injectors and the POE Camera to the POE port?
Hello, great video. My setup is one device at my Building A (my home). I was hoping to shoot a wifi extender signal to my boathouse which is about 200 feet down a path so my TV and other devices have wifi. Do I need a second M5 device?
Of course u do... listen to his explanations well..to get ur home wifi connection to ur boathouse..u need two of either the m2 or m5 which ever u connected in house A
I have 2 - M2 locos setup in PTP / AP repeater mode. (One on the side of my patio connected to the router / ethernet and it's facing the one on my barn for wireless internet) It works great but, I'm not able to login to each individual nano station, to change the settings / update firmware while connected to the new Ubiquiti Wi-Fi. (Right now, I just connect to each via the ethernet cable). Is this possible to have it setup like that? I noticed none of the Ubiquiti server stuff, doesn't show the networks unfortunately.
Loved your explanation. For whatever reason, my Building A station, does not show up when I scan for networks. I'll be honest that I did disconnect Building A point before I got to this point since my router and where my computer are at a different location. any suggestions?
interesting video. I wanted to ask you some questions because I didn't understand some things. I have to move my signal from house A to house B. do I connect the first antenna to my modem (house A) and set it to non-static without changing the IP? I would like to connect a modem router for wifi to house B. How should I configure it? Thank you.
Can you setup the “building A” as AP Repeater instead of access point? I have wifi on my back porch, just need to shoot it over to my shop. This would eliminate the need for isp running a cable to my back porch into the nano. Im only shooting to shop about 50 yards away.
Thanks for the video. Can the source for "station" unit be any in AP in my network? I have a outdoor AP which has a pretty good signal to shed. I want to have an ethernet connection with router>switch in the shed. If i buy only one nanostation unit and configure it as "Station" would this work?
Simon, All is working will with my M5 setup. Thank you. I do have a question. I have house "B" connected to a switch. The switch is connected to a WiFi extender that is setup as an access point. My computer is connected by an ethernet cable to the switch. I want to access my computer remotely from another location. I will need to set up port forwarding to the router. I will need port 50001 and port 50002. Will having the M5 between the router and the computer be an issue? I also need to set the IP Address of my Server to static so it will not change if the computer is restarted. Will this be an issue? Do you have any recommendations for any free DNS service? I know I am asking a lot of you but, you helped me set up the M5's so easy and you are light years smarter than I.
Is there any magic needed if adding another set of these units to extend the bridge to another building...so two AP and two Stations linked together on the same network
I just purchased this same setup but my home network is .0.1 and the nanostations are 1.20 / 21. I tried DHCP and static to 0.20 / 21 but it's working. Ubiquiti email support is non existing. any idea what else I can try? I can't change my ISP address.
If I replace the station b with a new one, (old one got wet) do I need to reconfigure from the start? Or will I be able to log into the station program and select the acces point name? It was set up by another party. Thanks!

Hello I have a pair of loco m5 wireless bridge from my house to the shop, ever time I loose power I have to factory reset and reset up the parameters to get online again. Is there a better solution?
Can I plug another access point to the end of the blue cable at the building B, the third access point to give the wireless internet inside building B, so the house device can connect to the third access point instead of another router ??
Am going to ask a really basic question. When one sets up an M5 as an AP or access point, can other laptops connect to it as well, or is this JUST for the connection to another M5 (station)? tx
Yes any device can connect as long as you know the password to the wifi network it is broadcasting, it is a narrow area of connection tthough, more point and shoot, like a Beam.
Question I did same sett up and it is not working . I have it connected to a switch and I have checked for internet connection and there is but when I connect the nano it’s not working
With your hellp setting up my M5's was a pice of cake. Your the man! I do have a problem maybe you could help me with. I tested them after I set them up and they worked fine. House A the access point is only about 4 1/2 feet off the ground with a rain down spout about 3 feet in front of and about 1 foot to the right of the access point. I took the station to house B and hooked it up temporarily to see where I got the best signal. I could only get the first bar (red) to light. During set up I turned the power down to 7 or 8 as the distance between the two is 100 yards with good line of sight. Do you think the down spout is hurting my signal? House B is lower than house A. That is why the access point is so low to the ground. I do not have any other place to put the access point because of trees to the right of the access point. What do you think? Thanking you in advance.
