  • I'm setting up ubiquiti nanostation m5 for point to point Wifi or point to multi point Wifi.
This allows me to cover about 1 mile distance of sending the signal.
It's for outdoor and indoor use.
If you are using other nanostation model, the setup and process more or less the same.
Where can I buy the product ?

The good thing about the M series is they are compatible with other brand bridges and even off the shelf wifi routers meaning you can use a nanostation M series in station mode to pick a wifi signal from your off the shelf wifi router or modem/router device your ISP leases you, or your campus' or apartment complex's wifi as long as you match the channel width.

@@UbergeeksBiz the settings of the ip addresses of both main and slave stations are not working as you posted. Everyone needs to put in the gateway of their particular internet source then assign to each nanastation an ip corresponding with that of the gateway. Then then internet will work properly.

The best way to midigate obstructions like trees in the signal path is not opt in for the NSM9's which are 900 MHz radios. Not the best band but is better than 2.4 or 5.8 since the lower frequencies do not deflect and get blocked as easy.

Hello, I have successfully completed all steps and have full signal on both sides, but when I plug in my wifi router on the B side, it says I have no internet when connected to it? I can hard wire it and it works fine but not through wifi? Any help would be so grateful

Great Video! What do the "Router" modes do in Network Modes? Station B is set to "Bridge", but Simon said he would look into the "Router" modes.

Is this like a Modem or like a Mesh Router? What exactly does it do and how does it work? Some relatives asked me about this from back home! I am trying to understand how it works before I order one for them. Everytime i talk to them or video call, their connection is bad, they suggested me to get them this one. I want to know does it help or there's something else that is more effective. Plz help

Followed your instructions to install M2 NanoStations - all seemed OK however I experienced a significant drop in download and upload speed. At Station end of the connection I have an Asus wireless router to provide wireless service to that location. Any thoughts as to what might cause a big reduciton in speed ? Thank you - the videos were easy to follow and VERY helpfull

I set up my nephews internet to run over to his dad’s house using your previous video (M5 Loco). I used my nephew’s small laptop that was hookup to his ISP. Recently I tried to hook up a second location. I thought I had it working until I realized it wasn’t. Well, I think what I did wrong was not updating firmware to match the others. So, I tried to log into both my nephew’s and his dais’s M5 loco with no success. I needed to see what version of firmware they were running before I updated the 3rd. When I pulled up my nephew’s AT&T diagnostic screen, I only found My nephew’s IP address (static). Although, I did see an IP address that the M5 are shipped with (possible conflict). So what am I doing wrong?
