I don’t understand why these developers keep making games that are beyond the hardware of the time. New games don’t even run well on high end PCs. They could have made this game for PS5 and Series X specs and it could have looked amazing. Instead they made it for who knows what target and these machines need to be resolution scaled back so hard just to run it.
I have a 4070ti and can't get a consistent 60 FPS with DLSS performance mode (which means, IIRC, 1080p native?). With framegen I get 90 or so but the latency gets awful. That's a GPU that costs more than a PS5 Pro and it's not a good experience. There' also some sort of interpolation that's always on, which means sub 60 fps gives weird double images.
The games aren't beyond the hardware of the time. The lack of optimization is the killer here. Optimization has been a bottom-level priority for game developers for at least 15-20 years. We are only seeing it more frequently now. If you can find it go read the development blog for Oblivion. When they ported it to console it ran at some atrocious ass FPS of like 5-10 fps or so for the entirety of its development due to lack of optimization. A few days (a day?) before release they hacked up some horseshit-ass half-baked optimization that pushed the fps into the 20s . . maybe. Its a joke.
Incompetent devs leaving every thing TAA and ray tracing rather than optimizing their games. Come on wild doesn't look much better than world and you're telling me it can't hit 60 fps on base next gen consoles ?
@@ZurilasZonei did play the game, it doesnt matter if wilds has a higher sealing of graphics if it plays badly at low resolutions. Thats why people say that world looks better.
@@skeletor2994 Most modern games can easily hit 60 fps or more on the same hardware that this game gets 30 on while looking significantly better. This game is far less optimized than most games. I don't think this is going to change elden ring had similar issues performance in the network test/beta and the problem persisted to the final game, to this day elden ring doesn't have a locked 60 fps on the base ps5 in performance mode!
Open beta or not, the visuals in performance mode are the most horrible thing i've seen on the PS5 so far. Like, that they even DARE releasing it at this state. Wouldnt wonder if it intentionally looks that shitty in performance mode and even fidelity mode is lacking, for indirectly advertising the PS5 Pro which releases in a couple days. Crapcom at its finest.
I was also shocked seeing it, at certain points I told myself, this is totally unacceptable . For me it was an easy decision, no way I'm playing it on the PlayStation end of story. Can't wait to test the PC version out. It's just said to be honest, they need to improve their game engine asap.
@@SpookyFairy actually 30fps is capcom console standard, back in MHW released it didn't even hold steadly 30fps, constantly drop to 25 and didn't have performance mode. And performance mode on *PS4 PRO* ran like 40-45fps (but the resolution was more steady then Wilds tho)
Thanks for sharing, I didn't know that. I am looking at the from and outside perspective. I still felt that I enjoy playing it even at the 'resolution''s frame rate, so it wasn't unplayable or anything like that, but definitely I prefer higher frame rates at 60fps+ for such a game, although it's not a very fast paced one either, which I think that's why 30fps was OK.
This is just a thought but i would take a couple loading screens here and there anyday if it meant some better graphics than this. If part of the strain on the engine and fidelity restrictions is the seamless world then I think it really is something to think about, because yeah this looks bad unfortunately in both at times but yes IT IS JUST A BETA. I just hope they add a significant boost to both modes for base ps5. Edit: Looking at the game run on PC looks fantastic on a maxed out PC I know the percentage of gamers with that is very slim lol definitely a reason to be excited for The PS5 Pro enhancements of this game for console.
This is a game that can greatly benefit from the power and the new AI-upscaling (PSSR) feature of the PS5 Pro with hopefully much less visual quality sacrifices. Also, if this is an Indirect Strategy to push PS5 Pro sales, I will say it is really working, because this has me considering getting one in the future or a PC!
I actually respect their decision to go beta as they have nothing to hide and want to collect data to improve the game. So this I will always support. Regarding PC/PS5, honestly, from my perspective, PC is such a better choice compared all in all, when it comes not just performance (but let's assume the same) - also for upgradability, ,sales,no need for pay for online services, game pass, gaming selection, external hardware options, modding, lots of advantages basically. I haven't played a lot on the PS5 because I can play on PC. I was hoping for more NEW exclusives but it's a joke to be honest. That being said, it comes before 2025 when we can expect quite a few exclusives, although those will eventually get to PC most probably. Games like Death Stranding 2, GTA VI (console release hopefully optimized for PS5 Pro), Ghost of Yotei, Marvel's Wolverine, The Midnight Walk, Fairgame$.. Basically, this is a good time to get a PS5 in general, let alone for anyone who haven't played the PS4/PS5 exclusives. But even with that in mind, the savings when you buy PC games and sales and game pass and all, the PS5 Pro eventually will lead to higher cost in the future. I don't intend to buy the PS5 Pro, I am not convinced yet, even not by the diferences shown in the promotional comparison videos.

Honestly, I feel the same way. I ask myself, "why is it so difficult for big devs to make a good looking optimized game for a static hardware (console)". PC does have issues (many reported it) but overall I was satisfied with what I can achieve with it personally on my setup (3070ti/i7/32GB), but it is a very demanding game based on the beta. I think it's related to their engine. This is the first game in a while that I play on the PS5 that look like the game engine and the console had a "disagreement". I wonder if there were other design choices alternatives to make the game look better and run with more consistent frame rates at the framerate game mode. The problem is with console that it doesn't give you a lot of setting options to play with, so you can't optimize it to your liking as you try to improve the look and/or frame rate of the game. I was able to do that on PC yesterday on PC, analyzing the settings that clog the system and have less impact on visuals but high impact on FPS, and adjust them so the game looks both nice and play well (finding the baseline). I've read from 3rd part source that Capcom allegedly have a more optimized version and we are playing an older one and we can expect improvements compared to the beta. It looks like the game forces Ray Traced shadows and Ambient Occlusion based on the noise and ghosting/slow refresh rate from those. That might be the culprit for such poor performance as the PS5 hardware can't handle RT very well
There was a huge difference between the performance and resolution in many areas I've tested. Especially the bushes that this is just unacceptable to be honest. I wonder how much is related to the capabilities of the engine and the console, as some UE5 games that I've played were demonstrating very high quality results in detailed worlds.
@@SpookyFairy The engine is undoubtedly tanking the performance as well. It's the same engine as Dragon's Dogma 2, and that game was a mess. Fuzzy and blur apart, is it just me or the game looks really dull ? Everything is so greyish and not appealing. I've been playing World recently and a bit of Rise and they look more alive at least for me
I tested on PC and I can tell you when you see the final details, especially at night where it's grayish and in the desert it feels much more lively, but when it's blurred like on the PS5, it looks very dull. I am disappointed that game that will relese in 2025 looks mutch worse then RDR2 2018 that 7 years ! Not only that but my pc can run RDR2 on ultra but can even run MH Wilds at all.
It is disappointing, probably engine related. Capcom is working on a new engine but probably it's not ready for prime time just yet. I was also disappointed seeing something like that on the PS5, especially after seeing so many beautiful games running UE5, even fast paced ones looking amazing.
Bro, Rockstar openworld is at the top of the industry. Not everyone can make games look that good with system req like them, they're ahead of this game. And even them take too long between big releases
I thought about buying the PS5 Pro, but I am still not convinced. As a PC player, it's all about exclusives for me and some better optimized titles. PS5 Pro is great for those which the PS is their main console, those upgrading from the PS4 and those who want a great gaming console for their living room rocking 4K.
Who would of thought a performance would not look as good as a mode focusing on graphics and resolution... on an old system that already outdated hardware but then again we got guys on steam still asking if they can handle wilds with 1080's as their gpus strange gamers have unrealistic expectations when it comes to hardware nowadays want hyper realistic graphics hyper performance w/o dlss and framegen etc what stuff super optimized but can't handle if a game takes 6+ years to make but at the same breath want the hobbie of gaming to be cheap.
no real monster hunter fan cares about graphics. we only care about gameplay and performance. its 2025 (on release) no excuses for poorly optimised games.
For PC they are relying on frame generation for performance instead of optimizing the game and for Nvidia, we are fucked as only 40 series have it. For PS, they are replying on PS5 Pro, which means we have to buy a new console just to get 60fps bruh
I've put a few hours into this beta, it really isn't that noticeable when playing.. I get there are some optimization issues.. but it plays great, feels great, And is FUN. The new generation of gaming focuses too much on this kind of thing, walking around staring at a shadow in a bush you will look at for a second when you are running around. I'm sure Capcom will do their best to Iron this stuff out and optimize before full release.. Monster Hunter World was capcoms Best selling game ever. They don't want to mess up this opportunity with the potential 2025 GOTY
I agree with you, gameplay is the most important, but I think it's still important to address the graphical issues. It might make a difference for some people.
I have 17 hours already in the beta and i must say the blurry resolution and 25 fps drops and stuttering and the noise in my character's hair is definitely noticeable
I am interested to see as well, but I have a feeling it will be just marginally better than the resolution on the PS5 at high frame rates but I don't expect a huge difference. I hope I am wrong and it will be impressive.
Trying to get it to run on my PC is a nightmare. I'm not even sure if it's an optimization issue, it's just bugged or something. Only the lowest quality models load in. Crashes constantly as well.
@@kleefirestar I just tried it. Good luck with your 1660 super lol. Its a blurry mess even on resolution mode on Series X and PS5 and looks even worse in framerate.
It's bad on console but much better on PC in my tests. Just benchmarked the game in 2K: ua-cam.com/video/LCXqHphX7Pc/v-deo.html
Regarding night scene, totally, I think they should improve the contrast, color and lighting to make it better at night for sure.
This is on PC: ua-cam.com/video/7pN8SMru3xw/v-deo.html
Up your saturation
I am disappointed that game that will relese in 2025 looks mutch worse then RDR2 2018 that 7 years ! Not only that but my pc can run RDR2 on ultra but can even run MH Wilds at all.
It is disappointing, probably engine related. Capcom is working on a new engine but probably it's not ready for prime time just yet. I was also disappointed seeing something like that on the PS5, especially after seeing so many beautiful games running UE5, even fast paced ones looking amazing.
It does not look much worse then RDR2 what are you yapping about
@Kaicovishnival My pointa was that my Pc cant run Wilds at All but Can run RDR2 on High .
Bro, Rockstar openworld is at the top of the industry. Not everyone can make games look that good with system req like them, they're ahead of this game. And even them take too long between big releases
@@jeronym894 they are working on the optimization of the game for the rest of the development. They said themselves the spec will most likely change.
First step to buy ps5 pro 😂
I thought about buying the PS5 Pro, but I am still not convinced. As a PC player, it's all about exclusives for me and some better optimized titles. PS5 Pro is great for those which the PS is their main console, those upgrading from the PS4 and those who want a great gaming console for their living room rocking 4K.
Who would of thought a performance would not look as good as a mode focusing on graphics and resolution... on an old system that already outdated hardware
but then again we got guys on steam still asking if they can handle wilds with 1080's as their gpus
strange gamers have unrealistic expectations when it comes to hardware nowadays
want hyper realistic graphics
hyper performance w/o dlss and framegen etc
what stuff super optimized but can't handle if a game takes 6+ years to make
but at the same breath want the hobbie of gaming to be cheap.
no real monster hunter fan cares about graphics. we only care about gameplay and performance. its 2025 (on release) no excuses for poorly optimised games.
Exactly i just want stable 60 fps on ps5, its strong enough @chuckster999
For PC they are relying on frame generation for performance instead of optimizing the game and for Nvidia, we are fucked as only 40 series have it. For PS, they are replying on PS5 Pro, which means we have to buy a new console just to get 60fps bruh
@@almoni-o9t it’s absolutely shocking.
Personally I think it's DEFINITELY noticeable. But it plays well, so I don't mind too much.
I have 17 hours already in the beta and i must say the blurry resolution and 25 fps drops and stuttering and the noise in my character's hair is definitely noticeable
How shit will it be on pc?😊
I am interested to see as well, but I have a feeling it will be just marginally better than the resolution on the PS5 at high frame rates but I don't expect a huge difference. I hope I am wrong and it will be impressive.
@SpookyFairy i hope i can run it i only have a 1660 super
Trying to get it to run on my PC is a nightmare. I'm not even sure if it's an optimization issue, it's just bugged or something. Only the lowest quality models load in. Crashes constantly as well.
@@kleefirestar I just tried it. Good luck with your 1660 super lol. I have an amd 6950xt and a ryzen 5 3600 and without frame generation and upscaling I could barely hit 30fps at 4k. only 50fps at 1080p. It's absolutely horrendous and I feel bad for people who can't afford to upgrade because if this stays as it is, the game will be such a bad experience to play
@@andrewandalexkrol808 ryzen 5 3600 and gtx 1660 here and yep, it was shite. Good thing the demo came out, i was waiting to see if i'd grab the game or not...guess i won't, unless there's an optimization down the line
It's a beta test chill
This isnt just a beta thing dude. The game comes out in 4 months. They aint gonna fix or improve this by then. Dont get me wrong everything else about this game is amazing but if you cant enjoy the game because of performance issues then its a scrap
"it's just a beta" - everyone always desperately clinging to hope that the final release just a few months away will somehow be better when it literally never is.
The combat feels shitty, its clunky and very outdated. It feels like shit
It does feel somewhat clunky and I also feel when I hit a monster that I don't actually hit it, unless I hit a part where my sword just bounces back and I ear a sound like I hit a rock. Something feels off there for sure.
@@SpookyFairy you must not know about wep sharing huh
This game is very much keeps the old part of previous versions so you wouldnt understand why it "feels shitty" If you dont like it oh well millions will like it.
I was playing on Resolution the whole time not knowing there was a frame rate option. Game still runned well though. Only had frame drops at the beginning of initial loading times, besides that- not even once.
