We just disembarked the Sky Princess last week. We were having dinner at The Catch by Rudi and they had a Juggler in the Piazza while we were trying to have a nice dinner. It was very loud and obnoxious. Evidently, it is not just Majestic Princess. We provided feedback to the entertainment director when we met her in the suite lounge. The string duo would have been a much better option for dinner hours. We are on the Majestic Princess next year going to the Caribbean. And, again in October to New England/Canada. It will be interesting to see if the sail away and the Fountain Pool will be different for our cruises. Thank you for the information.
Hi there! That is interesting to hear that the Sky Princess had the same noise issues from the Piazza when dining at The Catch. I like your idea of just having the duo- violin music during dinner! Hopefully they will consider it across the fleet; it really kind of does wreck the dinner experience when there is so much noise. I hope you have wonderful cruises on the Majestic Princess! 😎🛳️ I hope they do have a fountain pool show and sail-away party, especially in the Caribbean. Keep us posted!
NEW SUBSCRIBER! This was a great, relaxing video. I loved the nature in the background. Can't wait to watch more videos. I'm looking at taking my very FIRST cruise so I'm reviewing all the Princess, Celebrity, and Norwegian videos. I'm trying to find cruisers who are around my age and have cruised on Virgin Voyages as well (since I heard the food was good yet I'm a bit skeptical about the "vibe" of the ship). If you haven't, would you ever consider sailing on Virgin Voyages? I'm also interested in river cruises which I don't see many people taking. Again, thx for the video and I look forward to watching more!
Hi Angela, and welcome to our channel; thanks for subscribing! I"m so excited for you looking for your first cruise! It can be a little overwhelming as there are so many options now; good idea watching lots of videos to help narrow your choices. Are you hoping to go to Alaska? It really was beautiful there, and the nature and views just jaw-droppingly stunning. We really loved Princess for Alaska. We haven't yet sailed on Virgin, but we would definitely try a sailing if the price is right. We have heard good things about the food too, and would probably 'lay low' through some of the 'activities' that aren't meshing with our value system. ;) River cruises would also be fun! So many options. I hope you can find a ship that you like and want to try for your first cruise. I've never been on a cruise that I didn't enjoy, so I'm sure you will have fun no matter which one you pick.
All of this is great information to have. We've only been on one Carnival cruise before and we have been talking about going on an Alaskan cruise. It's interesting to hear how the Majestic Princess does things. That medallion sounds interesting. It's wild that your whereabouts on the ship can be tracked via the medallion - I had never heard of anything like that before! I like that the Majestic Princess has educational programs about the areas you'll be seeing and the wildlife. Hopefully they'll work on the scheduling so that everyone will be able to get a seat.
I’m glad the information about our Princess cruise helped you! We would definitely sail on Princess again, especially to Alaska! They have been sailing there the longest, and really do a great job. Plus they are able to sail into Glacier Bay more than any other cruise line, and I highly recommend going there. So beautiful. We absolutely loved the medallion! I’m hoping other cruise lines get something similar. Have you decided where you are taking your first camping trip to yet? I hope you had a great weekend!
@@weinkeworldadventures The Princess is a beautiful ship and it's huge! Way bigger than I expected. We "camped" in the driveway this weekend to get a feel for it and we are lucky to have some nice campgrounds fairly close to us. So we'll stick close to home at first and then branch out into some of the parks in Alabama, Georgia and further south in Florida.
I'm assuming the sail away party is done indoors because the weather can be very unpredictable and if the weather is bad, or it turns they don't want a ton of people stuck trying to get inside all at once.
Hi Samantha, and thanks for checking out our channel! I think you are right. The weather in Alaska probably has a lot to do with the reasoning in bringing the sail away party inside. We just felt kind of torn, as we really wanted to watch the sail away outside, since it was just so beautiful! It was a no contest for us. But we did miss the sail away party. 😊
Hi guys. I have never been on Princess. I really like the idea of the medallion. I would like to try them. I've been on the Carnival and Holland America. Hal also has a program called have it all which includes wi fi drinks and gratuities. Also you get specialty resturant nights and up to so much on excursions. I watched your update on your home decor, I love it. It's really looking good. You have so many windows to let the light in and the kitty's to look out.
Thanks so much, Carol! We are enjoying our place more and more each day. ❤️ I do love the windows, and hope to do something with the curtains eventually so we can bring in the light even more. And the kitties really do love them. That’s great to know about Holland America! That is on our wish list of lines to go on in the future. The Have it All program sounds great, and it’s nice to have so much included. The specialty restaurant nights would be a plus! I think you would like Princess. It’s definitely a step up from Carnival- more classy, without being stuffy. The medallions are amazing! I hope they bring them to more cruise lines.
We love Princess and the Medallion experience. Just to contrast Princess with HAL… Holland America counts water bottles in their 15 drink max. With this approach, my wife would be adversely affected as she drinks a lot of water during the day and doesn’t really like the “tap” water on the ships. Another issue for us is that you can’t use your drink package on Holland America’s private island. This reduces the value of their drink package when sailing in the Caribbean and visiting Half Moon Cay. You miss almost an entire day when visiting there - even though you’re paying for the day. Princesses’ drink package works on their private island Princess Cays. And water bottles don’t count in your drink limit. With the other perks for Princess Plus and Premier, it starts to really make it a good value. Give them a try - you may really like it.
Thank you for all the likes and dislikes on princess majestic. Is the service gratuity included with the princess plus. I sent that it says crew appreciation but wasn’t sure what that means.

One thing with the princess plus. With this plan you get two trips to the “ casual dining venues “ like Alfredos. - which used to be included. But you can do a 3 night cruise and get two visits to Alfredos. Great. You book a 55 night trip ( cost $7500 extra approx for two to get the plus package) and guess how many “ included” visits to Alfredos you get ??? TWO !!! What the hell. Oh they give you other stuff. 2 x sundaes per day. … what person would have 2 per day. They are huge and ridiculously bad for you … so MOST people would have one or two per trip anyway…. Two trips to the gym for an exercise class. Big deal. So other than drinks and wifi - they don’t offer much of any real value .. Try HAL. $10 more for the Have it all package. You get specialty dinners, money off excursions AND drinks and wifi. Much more useful
Wow, that is sad that Princess doesn’t give more trips to the casual dining restaurants on longer cruises with Princess Plus! I did not know that. We will have to check out Holland America soon! The only reason we went with the Princess plus was because of the gratuities being included, which we felt made it almost worthwhile. But it’s sad that they cut out some of the dining and things to save a buck. 😕
That makes sense. We definitely would’ve liked to have seen the party, but we just couldn’t pass up the views as we were pulling out of port! So beautiful!
Really enjoyed your likes and dislikes. Wow, very noisy in the piazza especially if you have paid for a romantic dinner in a specialty restaurant. What is the point of a sailaway party inside? Doesn't make sense unless the weather was horrible. Also again I don't understand why Princess won't step up and enforce reservations in the theatre. Why even offer it if you don't follow through ? Anyways love that you love the food, medalliion etc. We are heading off on a cruise with Majestic soon so can't wait to try it out.
Hi Cindy! Cruises have gotten a lot more casual, and there is usually no requirement that you dress up anymore, even in the main dining rooms. Sometimes they may have a rule that there’s no shorts, T-shirts, flip-flops, bathing suits, or caps in the main dining room or specialty restaurants during dinner or on formal nights. (1 or 2 per cruise) But you can always eat at the more casual restaurants or buffet too, and they are super casual. I’m like you! I prefer dressing casual, and usually only bring one or two nicer outfits on a cruise for the formal nights. But that is totally optional. 😎
Hi there! We totally understand you want to see the ship, but this video was more about our opinions of the cruise, so that is why it is more more of Vlog style.
Sail away party inside was because it was Alaska
Thanks so much for your feedback! It sounds like we agree on many areas. 🤗
I hope you have an amazing cruise on the Majestic Princess!
Is it a requirement that you bring "dressy" clothes on a cruise? We're minimalists too & don't have much need for dressing up.
That's very helpful - thanks!
@@cindyonyoutube you are very welcome! 😎
Do they play the love boat theme on all the princess cruises?
@@jlewber2003-hi6ii no
we have been on the majestic princess twice and the food was dreadful
Thanks for sharing your experiences. It sounds like you didn’t like the food at all. Which cruise line is your favorite? 🛳️
Please show me the ship, not shots of yourselves.
Hi there! We totally understand you want to see the ship, but this video was more about our opinions of the cruise, so that is why it is more more of Vlog style. If you want to see our tour of the shift, check out this video, and happy sailing! 🛳️
