Holy shit. That was an amazing play through. As a developer, you hope players "get the game". The dread you experienced is exactly what I was hoping players would feel...then that feeling of overcoming impossible odds. Also, you can cut down trees;) Can't wait for the next play through.

only 10 minutes in and im calling it, this is the closest we will ever get to a Shadow of the Colossus sequel. SoTC is one of my favorite games of all time and to see a game finally get this close to capturing the original feel of it for me is incredible. It takes me back to when i was a kid and saw the Colossi for the first time. That breathtaking, jaw dropping "Holy shit!" moment that was rarely captured by other games. God of War got it with Jormungandr and thats the only example i can think of from a game. This game does a wonderful job.
The developers of this game were encouraged by the actual team of SOTC. However, I can't find a source. They are good friends with the developers of Subnautica as well.
The gimmick of the title is that it can be read as "Pray" OR "Prey", so I don't think IGP misspelled anything, guys. He put it as both A and E to represent the dual nature of the title. However! IGP, I think it would be really cool if you used æ or Æ instead.

The game was originally called Prey for the Gods but Bethesda forced this company to change it to Praey because they thought they would be copying off their game Prey even though this game is nothing like that.

One thing I found interesting is their introduction of Nordic and Viking sigils and symbols. The biggest one standing out to me was at 14:37 on the rock, which is the symbol for Vegvisir, or the Viking compass. It is a symbol which means "That which shows the way." Its an Icelandic symbol which was a visual spell of protection against getting lost (particularly, but not exclusively to the sea), which would have been very important to the Vikings
A possibly Scandinavian-ish style of SotC, with more exploration and interaction?... While it will never replace the masterpiece of SotC, HELL YES MORE OF THIS! I am hooked like a hook shot!
Ooh! This is developing nicely! I still think the monster fights need a little more to them, because the way you exploit them is almost identical to SotC. It’s great to give something homage, but it should still be unique enough to be its own experience.
11:02 reminds me of a lynx I tamed in Assassin's creed: Odyssey. I named him "Link". He lasted a good couple main missions. Unfortunately he was not strong enough to make it with me on the journey.. I actually got attached to him pretty quickly. He was Link the lynx. A strong wild fierce kitty. The best type of kitty.
Breath of the Wild meets Shadow of the colossus. Also, I don't see how people aren't comparing this game to BOTW. It's so alike, but with big monsters. The sailcloth, the stamina meter, the yellow rune stuff, the food eating, climbing, and even the items/inventory.
Its pretty cool how the devs. used the Vegvisir(Asatru Compass) for the thing that unlocks an area of the map. Really sticks with Norse mythology kind of.
I love how Indie's first instinct in an open world game is to stray early on from the "Story line" thinking he could survive. Maybe he should do the parts of the game that the "game" itself knows he can handle first.
Question but will you be continuing you playthrough of the Blackout Club if so are there certain days you will just because I really like that series and I look forward to more of it as well as this one and many more
This is amazing, it also reminds me of the Forgotten Vale from Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC, the giant Glaciers, ancient ruins, and large caves remind me of it so much. The ruins remind me of Nord, not Elvish ruins though.
Not only is this a visually stunning and plot driven game, at least if it's anything like Shadow Of Collasus, but you do a very excellent job playing it. Please continue with the playthrough IGP.
What would be really great is if they added a whole upgrade and survival element to the polish, along with a story. Like if the goods you collect could be amalgamated into refined equipment and upgrades and so forth to help you in your quests, and have it be it’s own particular focus in the game. Then I would be all over this game. Some real potential for a well received and popular game if only they add dimensions to the gameplay. This looks incredible like Breath of the Wild meets Shadow of the Colossus. Wish a finalized version would debut on console.
It's T for Torch and I for Inventory, IGP GAWD Joking aside, it makes me think of Tomb Raider + Shadow of the Colossus, and I'm *very* excited about it! Some of it is taken right from Shadow of the Colossus, but I appreciate the unique monster design and different driving force of the main character, as well as the survival aspect beyond fighting the monsters!
I'm actually glad this is close to SotC. After I beat SotC, I was hurting so badly for another game with giant epic boss fights like that, and this looks extremely promising.

Shadow of the Colossus is my favourite game of all time next to Knights of the old Republic. The feeling that the world of shadow of the colossus gave me was an eerie and hollow feeling, and i loved it for that. I'm definitely getting this after seeing the gameplay.

I'm not completely positive if that is 100% true but this whole game seems to have Norse inspiration.
