This video was brilliant work. Jason must have been exhausted after doing all the editing for this one. I always get intimidated when I have to work on my bike. I learned a few things by just watching this.
Glad you learned some stuff! I appreciate the acknowledgment of the work too, there’s a ton of hours behind that video. There’s plenty more to come as well so thanks for continuing to watch and give feedback 👍🏼 - Jason
I love mx factory now I am going to buy a Yz125 and restore it so I can use it as my 3rd bike to start Motocross my first bike was a honda crf50 but I big bored it now I'm selling it to my friends brother and I'm about to get a used ok Chinese 150cc fully manual so I can learn how to use clutch and also go to the track sometimes and by the end of this year I will have a yz125 that I will restore Thanks for the help and inspiration I will watch all videos on how to start Motocross without dying.
Super cool video! I'd stress about where everything went but as you say, pictures would help. I'd probably label everything too because I'd forget for sure (old).
looking forward to this series. I have an old 92 RMX 250 that needs this treatment! Complete rebuild. Its in pieces in my shed right now. Motor needs a new crank bearing and new top end.
hey bro, i have 2006 ktm 250sx-f i want to teardown like what you did in that bike, is that the same method you did for the ktm bike??? i just know how to ride but have no idea how to teardown, it's my first dirt bike for the age of 32 mate... thanks for your answer...
9pm, everyone is sleeping and I feel motivated so what better to do than strip down a bike? Lol I have so many projects started already what's one more.
Did anyone else notice that for a 10year old bike the radiator fins were pretty much perfect and I didnt notice any stone chips in the fork lugs, either this bike was hardly used or a few parts have been changed already....
1st please tell me this was the condition of the bike when you got it and you guys didn't let it get to that condition...lol 2nd how do people get their aluminium frames polished to a mirror finish. Great video and I've found that tearing down my 2018 YZ250 was a lot easier that tearing down my 2000 YZ125
They bought it like that I believe. Don't get a mirror finish, it's impossible to keep it up and CAN look pretty wack. But if you must have one it's easy to accomplish with some polishing compound and a bench grinder/drill with the right polishing attachments
@@reeveharper8424 I knew they had bought it like that. I was just giving them a hard time, and grateful that they saved an awesome bike from such a demise...lol. Thanks for the input on the frame polishing I wouldn't do it to my YZ i was just curious how people got it that way, and I can imagine doing that way would ruin the protective coating the factory puts on their aluminium frames to prevent oxidation
It’s really not that hard, I’m 14 and I tore my dad’s 06 yz 125 down. He blew it up trying to keep up with me on my 05 yz 250. Blew a hole right through the piston. I pulled the engine and tore that down to the crank as well. I did a complete rebuild on it. Did so all without a manual and without any videos. First time too. I’m in the process of doing the same with my 05 yz 250, I did the top end on it awhile ago. Just cleaning and greasing every seal on the chassis. Also going to replace my clutch plates.
This is one of the reasons why M x Factory is my favorite UA-cam channel.
Excellent tutorial again.
Thank you!!
For real nice clean tutorial
Hands down the best tear down video on UA-cam
I really appreciate the tip about that carpet. Such a simple idea, but so effective! Thanks, guys!
O my gosh sooooo helpful. I am painting the frame of my 2003 yz125

Can’t wait for episode 2 I have a 07 125 myself I’m intimidated to wrench on so this is perfect
You got it bro!
@@michaelpitta2047 Agreed, thank you dude!

Super useful thanks, I'm doing my first rebuild of my dads 2003 yamaha Dt125r, he said if I get it running it will be my first bike!
It also helps to strap your frame down to the stand so when you pull out forks, swing arm, etc it will all be balanced.
I've probably watched this video 50 times. Just learning to work on my bike so this is awesome!
Super cool video! I'd stress about where everything went but as you say, pictures would help. I'd probably label everything too because I'd forget for sure (old).
your videos are the best
Good video
Thank you!
Can you please do a video on how to ride on rocks and what positions you have to be in 💪🔥🔥🔥@THE MX FACTORY 🏭
Nice teardown!
really nice video! cant wait for part 2
You can remove the subframe the rear plastics fender muffler air box and seat all at once with 3 bolts
Love the pad mount for the drill
Can't believe you missed the very first step, WASH THE BIKE FIRST!!
Exactly! Wash it before putting it away
Lol
Why would you wash it first😂 if your doing a rebuild you detail every part individually
Man do I like Yzs. Hoping to get a 125 myself as a "commuter"

At 9:05 I've been trying that for hours. Any tips?
He says brute force so i guess thats what u wanna do
@@christofferrsnes9508 I ended up cutting it out but I hit it with a sledge hammer for an hour and it didn't budge
Thanks for the great video! I’ll be rebuilding our FC250 soon!
Why drain the oil when it’s all taken apart. I always drain the fluids first before I take a bike apart
Great video guys, I really liked it. I'd love to see more of these how to work on a bike tutorials
More headed your way!!!
I like this channel I subscribed
I love you vids this was a good birthday video thx and keep up the hard work
nice video🤙
nice job
Great work 🙌🏽🤙🏽
What is the drill attachment tool that you used for cleaning & polishing the nooks & crannies.

now I miss my 2004 YZ ... hahaha nice vid!
AMAZING VIDEO MAKE MORE!
Bro thanks
Hey do you have a video to put the bike back together?
This will help me tearing down my kx 250 next winter
9pm, everyone is sleeping and I feel motivated so what better to do than strip down a bike? Lol I have so many projects started already what's one more.
2001 yz125s are typically the best, but I would take any 125 or 250 2 stroke
No there not
You guys should move to LA or Gorman I’m thinking of getting a bike for my husband and son
A little wiggle jiggle on the spleens 😂
Great stufff

Hardly used. That’s why we bought this for the re-build/giveaway. Will make someone a great ride!
@@TheMxFactory awesome, love the channel and you guys!!!
What kind of cleaner did you use on the frame?
You should sand blast any metal parts
Am I late for the giveaway? 😅😅
nice work. i need a garage 4 the winter :(
By any chance do you know what the subframe bolt sizes were please?
Kan jou make a video how to build one in parts
swing arm pivot killed me
been here for 3 days trynna get the wheel thing out
So Tyler is the coach and your the mechanic huh 🤣
He’s the everything else but the Tyler 😂
How many hours did it take to get this far?
How much did this whole process cost you
How much would I need to dismantling to fit in a luggage?
I want to do this to my DT125R to get my frame powder coated, but im scared of all the electronics lol
Now how do I put it back together
what would that cost to have done, if anyone even offers that.
How do people remember how everything goes back togter and which bolt goes where
There’s never not a blown fork seal
Thanks for the video. I think it's worth getting a parts cleaner from harbor freight for 100 bucks with coupon

Thought i was the only one who used the pegs as tool rests 😂
I want to get a Yamaha YZ125
Spleen? I always thought it was a spline all this time
If I get the 1 dollar membership do I still get entered
$5 minimum
Oh
Don’t just sign up for the bike sign up to support these dudes so ppl can learn to ride safely and we can still get this amazing information
I can take anything apart. Putting it all back together right is the problem lol
Good video but I would of cleaned the bike first so your carpet holing the bolts doesn't get filthy.
"Splines" not "spleens." Nice video.
