Thank you I appreciate the support. The best time to overseed your lawn is early spring or early fall when the temps are cooler. I apply milorganite about 4 times a season May, June, July August.
Hey one more question...first of all my lawn is greatly improved. I wish I could send you a pic. It's been raining like crazy in Orlando. How do I stop this mushrooms 🍄 in my lawn ? Thanks brother..looking for your response
Mushrooms popping up in the lawn is not a bad thing. That shows your lawn is rich in organic matter but if you want to slow Mushrooms down you can spray a fungicide on the lawn. I use bioadvanced you can find it in home depot and lowes. I'm glad your lawn has greatly improved keep up the good work. All it takes is a little TLC. so, I put Milorganite down Sat. thinking it was gonna rain, I didn't water it in. Same for Sunday, Monday we got a monsoon and have at least 40% chances for the rest of the week. Did I waste my money, will this product still work? thank you!
Milorganite is processed Milwaukee sewage. (Thus the name) I've used this on my lawn for 2 yrs. This year I bagged grass and dumped into my garden compost bin. After a week and some rainfall the bin smelled like poop. The smell is so strong it is disgusting. Lesson learned don't bag the grass and make a pile. Pew pew !
Nice man! I have 6000 sqf of grass, i wish i could buy milo but where i live is 15, almost 16 dollars a bag. is getting expensive. Right now in using liquid fertilizer since you can more than 8 apps a gallon.
Oh yea I definitely seen the prices jump up recently. I've purchased my milo in the offseason last season when they were on sale I have more than enough to last me through this season.
Darryl, I put milo and tenacity down last week. The weeds I saw coming in one section are dying out How should I repair? Do I dig the weeds up then add dirt and seed? Thanks again
@@LawnAmateur thanks that's what I'll do. I also noticed a spot that looks silver.. I'm gonna monitor to if it's just a lack of water or fungus. I trimmed the Japanese maple back so it could lack of water.

No, you can still fertilizer in May just make sure you use the right amount of fertilizer and water it in properly. If you're using Milorganite it has a recommended schedule of when to fertilizer right on the bag.
Hey Darryl, I just applied milorganite in my front yard 1100 sq ft, the bag says to use 11.5 setting on the same edgegard spreader that you use and in no time I started running out so I set it to 6. Ended up putting down the 32 lbs bag that covers 2500 sq ft over my 1100 sq ft area. You think this will do some damage? What setting do you use? Thanks
Not at the moment but I did use started fertilizer around late February to jump start the growth and root development. Now I'm using Milorganite but I may use another fertilizer soon to prepare the lawn for that summer heat.
This you can apply anytime to your grass when you need that little extra feeding and boost of nitrogen to your grass. The rates are so low that it won't harm your grass. But the main feeding schedule is all the major holidays Memorial day, 4th of July, Labor Day and last feeding Thanksgiving.
At least 4 times is recommended on the bag but I was applying it 6 times a year especially during summer months because its low on nitrogen so it'll give a nice feed without major growth.
