  • In this video I show you how you can overseed your lawn without using an aerator and get good results. Its not necessary to aerator your lawn every season to actually get good results with your spring or fall overseed process. This method can be used at the beginning of Spring or Fall lawn season and this is just as important to do as aerating.

    I have a video request: a compilation by season, with the best steps you've taken, by week, with links, using old videos. Start with autumn.
    I'm not a video editor, so this may be a huge request. If so, ignore. But it'd be nice to have "1st week of September, I did this. 2nd week of September, I did that."
    You turned that lawn around from a couple of years ago.

      Most grass types get thatch

    • @kingposeidon9362
      @kingposeidon9362 11 місяців тому

      Tall fescue does not tend to accumulate thatch. It appears that what he is removing is what is sometims referred to as "debris", which consists of grass clippings, tree debris (twigs, nuts/seeds, mulched leaves), dead grass/weeds, etc. Despite the name of the SunJoe tool, I think that it is really better described as a power rake versus a dethatcher, at least when using the attachment with tines. The scarifier attachment could be used as a true dethatcher (i.e., removing a true thatch layer (not just lawn debris) for those grasses that do tend to accumulate thatch or it could be used as a verticutter, which can be beneficial for rhizomatous or stoloniferous grasses. For tall fescue, after power raking with the tines attachment, I would use the scarifier attachment to dig grooves in the soil to improve the seed-to-soil contact for the overseeding.
