My lawn was dead bald and ugly when i bought my house. I subscribed to your channel 2 years ago. Followed your suggestions step by step. You should see my lawn now. I have the most beautiful lawn in my subdevision. Thanks you so much!
This is my story too! We bought our house last yr and yard is a mess. Dead and bald spots! We hired landscaping contractors to fix the ground because we had more than a dozen tree stumps removed cause it was getting too close to our house's foundation. Anyway, you inspire me that we can have a lawn like this one!
I’ve had my garden weasel for at least a couple decades probably over 3 but I usually take the middle one off and use it as a hand tool in the garden EXCELLENT TOOL
Hey buddy, new to your channel. What a great tool that garden weasel is !!! That tool saved me a hell of a lot of time. Seeded two weeks ago and got some good growth already. Thanks for the help and I'll be watching your new vids as they come out and also, 👍. Good luck, stay safe and may God always be by your side.
When you get your new home, and I know you will, you will be in the yard almost everyday if you are a yard fanatic. I know I was out there everyday myself and at one point my lawn was the best in the whole neighborhood. Well wishes on your house hunting.
Yup that garden weasel is great. Just used it to reseed some bare part of the grass. Coming along well. Some birds did eat some seeds. Its like they can hear me throw them into to soil😂. Thanks for sharing.🎉
This is exactly what I’m trying to do and have been looking for the best way to do it and then I found this video. Thank you!! You answered my questions and I’m going to get a garden weasel as soon as I get off work
Was at Home Depot a few days ago and saw the Lawn Weasel, wondered how effective it was but the way you explained it plus folks in the comments make me want to buy one. Thank You for the information.
i'll use this in the fall, seeing this vid in the middle of july haha. idk if i had some moles or what but have several small blank patches in my front yard just about 6-8 inches wide. peat moss sounds good, i've tried straw before but it gets everywhere.
Well done Video. All I need is to get back my truck from the Shop. Go to HD & get this Wissel stick.. U saw it so many times.....never thought it was a great tool to add in my Shed. Thnk U...!!
Ive had one of those hand cultivators for many years and I do the same and when the fall comes I take all the plants and hanging baskets and i add seed and cultivate it into my yards low areas and thin spots, and I recycle any plastic pots… good day …👍
Thank you for the video. I have been looking for a garden weasel for a while and I just ordered one from W+ for $28. Thanks for the tip about the peat moss to keep the birds from eating.
We bought a garden weasel 25 years ago to use in the garden to control weeds. It didn't work to well for that so I stuck it away and haven't used it till 2 years ago I needed to patch up some spots and I saw that thing and thought I'd give it a shot. It works great for this exact thing. I also use the peat moss.
From Illinois! Awesome info from this video! This will definitely help me fine tune reseeding my front lawn. I left out a few steps shown in the video, which will no doubt bring quicker seed germination! 🎉
I was actually pricing similar “Rotary Tools” on Amazon this past weekend. Definitely pushing closer to $40 for anything name brand. Should be around $80 in 2028 should Uncle Joe sniffy get re-elected. So don’t complain about it in 2028 if you vote that way, just saying….Facts matter.
Learned something yesterday. Went to Lowes today and bought their version of the Weasel. It was $35, and it was worth it. Did one large spot in the back yard that has been troublesome for a while. Rolled it, seeded it, rolled it lightly again then dropped some Milorganite and watered. Took care of the side of the house where it was dug up to replace a water line. They did a lousy job filling and leveling the dirt and then seeding. I fixed it once and got some growth. Took the tine tool to it today as well with the same process. Got some rain coming this week. Hoping to see some good results within a week or two. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
@geniepreece2216 I've done it for 24 to 48 hours, changing the water (very important) out every 12 hours. Keep it in a warm area like your garage or shed. You will know it's ready to put down when you start to see roots. I mix it with fertilizer so I can use a spreader. If not, it will clump up in the spreader. Hope this helps
When I hear suggestions to get kids involved I subscribe right away! grass looks good. Just found your channel I will be definitely following your journey. Keep up the good work 👊🏾✊🏾
Awesome Video!! Like many have already said, I have this tool and have never thought to use it in this application. I’m doing yard maintenance tomorrow and this is going to help so much. Adds air and loosens soil. Pete moss is my go to. Have a great season
Totally agree- I have been using them as well- year after year. I have found that with one roller only it is more effective and easier to break up the soil.
I soak grass seed for about 4 or 5 days then mix seed with some peat and Composted Cow Manure then apply over prepared ground. Keep damp until first mowing. Works great
I like to use scotts turf builder soil in the green bag, its easy, its got peat moss and mild starter fert mixed in. I used my garden weasel today lol, forgot how awseome it was.
All good stuff. I would've gone ahead a put down some starter fertilizer and definitely watered the area daily for maximum results. I've also seen some ppl use regular pottery mix instead of the peat moss. Both work fine in this scenario.
Like you mentioned, " Don't add too much seed". Using too much seed is easy to do because you want to make the grass grow back thick. In reality, too many sprouts pop-up bunched together and end up small and unhealthy and all die ending in a waste of effort and resources.
Hey man, great video. I liked and subscribed. Definitely going to try this in my yard and teach my kids, and looking forward to more videos man. Thanks.
It would be great to see a before and after this process. Do you have a vid for that? Ie the after and how long it took to germinate. Thanks for the easy to follow videos!
Well Ii'm here today this works I have been doing it for 20 years for dog pee stains after a long snowy winter. For the pee stains I put the weed eater on it side and take the thatch off right to the dirt then weasel it seed it weasel again then peat moss and give it a little sprinkle of water every night before bed to keep it damp. I bought my garden weasel at a yard sale for $2 lol
Thanks for the garden weasel tip, makes perfect sense. I’m going to pick one up tomorrow along with some peat moss. I have already applied some spring fertilizer with moss control. I’m thinking should probably wait a few weeks to let that settle in before seeding? Any advice on the timing and temperature?
Helpful video, thank you! This garden weasel looks like a great tool, I'm just confused about choosing the right one, I can get so many types and the price range is also very large. Is it worth buying the more expensive one? I know they are also used for crops... are all type of garden weasels suitable for lawns? It is also recommended for aerating lawns, but I would use it for turning seeds and loosening the soil before weeding... and in general in places where I see that the soil is too compacted for the grass. Is either type equally good for any function? Thank you very much!
It totally depends if you're planning to use it for other jobs and if you need a bigger one. But this style should do just fine on different applications

🤣🤣. The birds definitely watch me seed the lawn
That will be my problem, the birds eating my seeds.

Hopefully your lawn gets into shape! That fence looks like it could use a little love as well.
The lawn is coming along well as temps heat up but its still too cool for the fence to be powered washed and painted but coming soon
Ordered my garden weasel after watching your video. Thanks for the info and demonstration. Hopefully, I will have a better looking yard this year.
Just stay consistent and it'll come together

That garden weasel idea was very clever
It works great
Average price of a garden weasel is $34.99. 04.01.24
That's interesting because I found it for $20
Yeah, inflation has me doing a double take at prices almost weekly.

Just the way it should be done, simple and fast. Subscribed!

I do the same with a garden weasel and peat moss. Works great. I saw professional landscapers using the garden weasel.
It's a great tool to have.
Great video! I personally soaked my seed prior to helping get them started and then spread them in. It speeds up the process.
I heard of people doing that

All good stuff. I would've gone ahead a put down some starter fertilizer and definitely watered the area daily for maximum results. I've also seen some ppl use regular pottery mix instead of the peat moss. Both work fine in this scenario.
I always wait atleast 7-10 days before putting the starter fertilizer down to give the seeds a chance to germinate first

It won’t break up hard yards. It’s good in flower beds with soft soil.
Yes sir I have one and highly recommend it. It works for left handers too!😁

I’m in South Carolina. I wish we could overseed now (Bermuda ) but it’s still too cool.
Only aerate Bermuda I'm told by Eastern Turf, especially if you have a sod yard. Do a little research first.
Great idea. Hoping you post a follow up video with how it turned out.
I sure will. Thank you for your support
This is a must have for overseeding. Shreds dirt, doesn't go deep. Reasonable lat workout as well.
Definitely lol
I have 2 garden weasels. 1 is 15 years old, and a newer one which is built a little stronger. I like them that much.

TTTF is good, take a little longer to germinate but doesn't like to be mowed short. My weasel broke, never replaced it, need one
I always cut my fescue at 3.5 to 4 inches. But I've been reading they have new varieties that can be moved low
