man you are one talented guy thanks for the vid. Been building Toyotas for awhile now, I never even thought of welding a bolt onto the shackle to thread it through the plate for extra reinforcement, good work 🤙

Wow, you need to use a welding blanket when welding/tacking on bumper! That's a nice new looking truck. I would be one upset dude. But bumper looks good. My friend had a new white dodge and he did grinding welding without a welding blanket like you. It was always parked outside. Then he started getting rust spots all over the place on his truck, he was upset. I had to say well if you don't use a welding blanket that's what happens my friend, pretty sad he was,, live and learn.
Absolutely a welding blanket would help and I do not recommend grinding or welding without protecting your vehicles paint and glass. Luckily there was no damage to the paint or glass. If you leave metal shavings on surface they will rust into the clear/coat if moisture get to it. Thanks for the input 👍

Any Steel Supply Store will carry all the metal. The hinge was from 4x innovations
