  • Lets finally finish off the exterior fab work on this truck! Today we are going to build a homemade rear bumper on our J10 pickup truck! This bumper needs to be strong enough for a hitch mount so we are going to build this with pure strength in mind!

    A dimple die is something I've never heard of. I love learning about new things. Man that came out great. "Strong" is an understatement. It's the Titanic!

    Holy crap! Went from a "plain" bumper to a full bore mega tow bumper with some flair...makes that jeep look incredible! GREAT JOB! Simple but makes it look 10x better!

    Great work on the rear bumper. The inverted dimple die was a good idea and it still goes with the front bumper.

    Love the build I think it’s the best build on bj....that rigs gonna look so good out on the trail with a dead elk in the back gonna b a bad ass hunting jeep

    At least you have a press for the dimple dies and not a 3/4 Milwaukee impact with grade 8 bolts. Like the bumper Bro!

    I've really been digging this series. I've got an '86 F150 in similar condition as the J10 with the same goals in mind, so these vids have been pretty good inspiration for my junk.

    I'm keeping my Comanche truck cause I live waaay off grid up in the mountains and snow. 41)2" lift for ground clearance and real rubber. Winch bumper lockers n functional shit. It's a metric ton and meant to work. No lace curtains in the window . Just a gun rack n maybe a meat boom. From the Alaskan Bush n now in NE Washington mountains. Up a serious trail. Dandahermit.

    You should tie in some reverse lights in the bumper little off angle recessed tubes to mount some period style flare

    Nice video. I just finished a JCR Do It Yourself rear bumper for my 1988 XJ. It took me a long time to finish it. I did not like the fit so i had to cut, weld, test fit over and over until it came somewhat close. I do like the fact the bumper does not hang way out like it did when i did the first test fit. Nice video. I am starting to learn a lot from you. Wish I had a shop like yours but some day soon! keep bringing on the videos!

    I a just now seeing the J10 videos and loving them. I recently bought a 1979 J10 with Levi's interior. It is rough and needs new bumpers because of rust and previous owner accident. I wished I could weld good enough to build some. I really do like the looks.

    I absolutely love that truck. I'm collecting stuff to build a rear bumper for my dodge ram. The ones that are notorious for rotting out. I want the kind that sticks out real far so when I hit shit it moves lol

      @@natebleepinjeep9564 I just want a mobile work bench lol. You're very welcome. K do property clean ups, and loan equipment repair, so I often need a work bench. I want to atleast be able to sit and rebuild a Briggs carb. I already have a vice and small anvil that will be able to slid into a hole on the bumper.

    Keep up the work man godly fab skills to be able to fab something that looks and I bet performs amazing can't wait for more please do a xj build nothing crazy but with your fab skills I bet you can make some sick stuff and I'd be interested in purchasing knowing you add extra beef

      Thanks! I'd be willing to build a Cherokee but I have a few projects in between now and then. After I finish the j10 I'll be building a diesel jeep liberty and finally working on my 1960 CJ!
