Ha Ha ! That has happened to me too! That seat is usually the first to be sat in, because it gives such a good view ahead of the train. The guard knows that too!
A ride on a train that I have not been on for a few years...excellent. DMUs were my favourite when I was a young boy. Its had me searching for my Ian Allen books? Great trip down memory lane>
I attempted to do something similar a few days ago on a differernt part of the line but the window glass was rather less clean and it started raining part way through the journey so I haven't uploaded the footage.
A nice trip, those old DMU's do roll a lot, like a cruise ship at sea. Reminds me of the short trip on the Avon Valley Railway near where I live on a similar DMu
An up to date comment for you. Track and trackside looked well maintained. Interesting to note changes especially at Watchet but sad to note the demise of the S and D Trust which at that time seemed secure and business like. Still not sure what is actually planned for this site. Thank you for repeating this trip.
@howarth004 Thanks for the lead to the stabiliser grip Dave. I had not come across it before. Steady cams have a history of being rather bulky and expensive. This one is reasonable for what you get for the money. It looks worth experimenting with. Its probably better on a camcorder than an SLR as we dont change lens or filters. The demo video also gives ideas as to how a similar home made one could possibly be made!
@ADMIRALSCORNER All very interesting Mike, it's the continuation of it when you turn away on arrival at Watchet, that made me wonder further.....would love to know if anyone has the answer..it must be the OFO DMU WSR CDM syndrome !!!!....Bob
@ADMIRALSCORNER I've thought of reflections from watch or ring, then perhaps a white sticker on the window, but none of them seem right when you watch the video to the end....any suggestions from your end Mike?...Bob
@robmasterman Hi Bob. I believe its all down to accidental operation of code HS25 p56! However, the Object continues to hover at the end of the ride, even when the camera is turned away! So could it be a UFO??
You were right at the end Mike, a lovely little trip....Tim.
A very nice video, can`t wait for the next production.
I wonder if you have seen my latest video? it also features the DMU with an unusual addition!
Lovely sound these old units make ( rattles and all! ). ian
Very interesting view. Like it! :) Beautiful landscape, thanks for the ride!
You said it all at the end Mike..."A very pleasant journey"...and thank you for taking me along with you free of charge...Bob

Very great CAB RIDE Mike.
Thanks.
Thank you! That window at the front of the DMU does give a fine view!
Planes, boats and trains? I'll take a train every time! Lovely ride!

I wonder if you have seen a more recent video where I get the chance to ride beside the DMU driver in his cab along the whole of the WSR.
@@ADMIRALSCORNERYes, I have watched it . Enjoyed it as is always the case.

@robmasterman Now theres a good story to spread! Come to the WSR, where strange things can happen!

Nice to be reminded of a normal world before this lockdown crap..........👍
Yes I find that reassuring too.
@robmasterman My pleasure Bob. I wonder Bob, have you realised why the UFO is ahead of us? You have a special reason to understand what was going on!
@siobhan104 I was fortunate to find that seat empty!
@canvids1 This time i tried to concentrate on the view of the track as the driver sees it

Just realised this is 10 years old ! But it was fun nonetheless... I wish it was a steam loco 😜
I have made similar videos videoing out of the carriage window in steam driven trains.
@@ADMIRALSCORNER - I'd love to see the videos
@@janinapalmer8368 There are many. Have a look and a listen to the one titled NOSTALSIC AND WONDERFUL RAILWAY SOUNDS FROM GWR 5553
