In memory of all those heroes who sacrificed their lives in the air, on land and sea in the wars for independence and freedom from tyranny and oppression. May God bless them all.

While sad, unbelievably so. I would love to be the priest in these circumstances. Supporting those in distress. Its what we should be about.

When Mrs Ryan looks out of the window, one of the most emotional bits of the film ever to get such a response for such a simple act. Crying again, is an utterly brilliant movie.

That was the scene that did me in. It was exactly as I had pictured in my mind when they came to tell my mother her only son had been killed in Vietnam.

I cry every time. The cemetery is difficult when you know we sent our generation and they had their lives ahead of them. We never can thank the Greatest Generation enough.

I saw this movie opening night, my Grandfather served and fought in WWII, he didn’t live long enough to see it with me but I know he would’ve. He passed in 1993 after losing his fight with lung cancer, I was 17. I was the last person he asked to speak to, his only grandson. Those final words played a huge part of my becoming a man. I wish I could’ve experienced this film with him at my side.

Do you realize we are losing our World War 2 heroes nearly 1500 a day. There are only 135,000 still alive. They are due our respect and acknowledgement before they pass . God Bless the Greatest Generation.

My Dad served from the beginning of WWII till the armistice, from North Africa to Sicily then to Italy and over the Italian Alps into Austria. Fifth Army, First Armored Division he was on the frontlines without a break for 209 days, the longest of any military service. He was a machine gunner on an M16 halftrack and was wounded twice earning two Purple Hearts. He came home and coped with the help of alcohol.

Exquisite Music.....the Opening Scene of the Mother visited with the Announcement of the Deaths of her sons absolutely shreds me.....from a Vietnam Veteran who made it home safely. on a body flight headed to Dover Mortuary. I owe a great deal .

That scene is from the movie "Saving Private Ryan. The story goes that there were 4"Ryan" brothers who signed up for the Army & when the paperwork was being done it was noticed that the 3 other Ryan brothers had been killed in action so they sent some soldiers to find the remaining Ryan hoping he was still alive so he could go home. I am not going to say anymore than that but if you have not seen the movie i completely recommend it. There is a lot of violence, death (Well it is a war movie), very sad & emotional. On the day i saw it at the movies about 40-50 people walked out in the opening scene due to the violence. Many returned Ex-Soldiers say this is the closest in accuracy of just how bad the landing of Normandy was. The film will stay you for a long time. It's emotionally exhausting but well worth the ride.

Beautifully done. The movie scenes you chose were perfect. The scene of Mrs. Ryan in the farm home is just perfect. Everyone should go to Normandy and see that cemetery and reflect on the 9500 young heroes who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Lest we forget.

I got to play this piece in highschool, we had pictures of each of the grave yards and how many people are buried there. I tell you I’ve never cried more in my life than when I was performing this song. My Grandpas father had fought in WW11, so it was very touching for him as well while he listened and watched. Very emotional piece of art!

Thats back when there was a sence of PRIDE in this cointry, serving 21 plus years in the Air Force serving our country, its hard to see what has happened to our Armed forces to day. Those who died fighting for us in previous wars would wonder now if it was worth it, but, they would still fight because this country is still worth fighting for. Two of my sons are serving and I know they understand understand why they are there, I only hope our men and women in uniform are ready when called upon. God bless all those who have served in the armed forces, and public service

I will walk you home too when the time and when that call comes.
You will walk us home too when the time and that call comes.
You will do so with the same honor, the same sense of duty and above all else, the same courage you did when we raised our hands.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for honoring and mourning the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
What not to do on Memorial Day?
Don't wish anyone a “Happy Memorial Day”
This is not Christmas - Memorial Day was not founded
in joy with the promise of bringing glee each year. ...
Don't thank the current troops. ...
    Don't disregard its importance. ...
    Don't forget it exists. ...
Don't let politics keep you from rendering respect.
    //
This day is our day of Remeberance for all of the men, women, young men who have gone before us in Battle to fight and keep Our Republic, the United States of America FREE from tyranny. To Aide all people around the globe to bring them Freedom and Liberty.
Millions of our men and women in the military are gone now, who fought wars here and abroad. Let us never ever forget their sacrifices and what they fought for.
"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." (John 15:13)
Memoria De valens vivat tamque vestri
    Requiescat in pace
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Thats one of the hardest jobs to have in the military is the notification officer. In the cemetery, it is maintained by the American Battle Monuments Commision. They maintain American military cemeteries around the world. The interesting thing about the French cemeteries, is that French families will adopt graves in the cemetery and tend to it and place flowers on it, when the families cannot.

This is a magnificent performance. Very moving. I have visited that cemetery in France. My father was fighting in Europe during World War II. To think we have someone running for President of the United States (Former President Trump) who didn't want to visit a cemetery near Paris for Americans who fought and died in World War I because it was filled with "suckers" and "losers," John Kelly, his longest-serving chief of staff, said. The defense officials said Trump made the comments as he begged off visiting the cemetery outside Paris during a meeting following his presidential daily briefing on the morning of Nov. 10, 2018. We need a leader with integrity who values the supreme sacrifice made by our troops. I'm thankful I have a good choice to make in November.

You are correct insofar as the victors write the history... nonetheless, there is only one supreme rule of politics: "Might makes right." The weak suffer the strong; and, the strong do what they will. This is the one absolute truth and summarizes the history of mankind.
