I really appreciate the methodical way Ox does videos. He does all the minutia and such in a region first, then explores the grander story of said region and refers to existing videos if you missed anything.
Absolutely. I really enjoy when he talks about the divergence from US history. He always does his research. He nailed the aircraft carrier, but pretty sure Grumman made a folding wing jet. But it does look like a P-80
i really enjoy listening to Oxhorn narration of the games he plays. The recorded footage that is actually what he is explaining and even tho its fallout 3 it still feels fresh and exciting. Good Job OX C:
Dear Oxhorn, Thank you so much for all you've done in Fallout lore. Rivet City was the first major Fallout 3 location I discovered and I loved it, but I never understood it. Now I may be able to learn. Thank you
Agreed. I would have been a fantastic experience. Imagine blowing up super mutants from the skies, that's going to be very wholesome. Also. Holy sh*t Justin are you a Demi-god of comment or something?
Justin Y. I hope you know oxhorn is using fallout for money he never played the old games until someone pointed that out watch logical phaullsy or something watch his video on oxhorn
Slavic Canadian, Oxhorn can do whatever he wants on his channel. Is it so bad he took on suggestions to play the older games? By your logic, all youtubers shouldn’t play any games because it gives them money.
I loved this city, I love FO4 but I wish there was some more interesting locations like this. Idk it's just so fun to see cities/homes where they shouldn't be. Like buses turned into houses, or boats into cites. I hope fallout 76 will give us the ability to turn these pre war items into our own cites/homes
I love your videos. You play these games the same way I do. No door left unopened. Every corner explored. Fantastic organized editing and narration. Watching your videos years after I played these games and reliving those memories and excitement of exploration make me happy and I appreciate you!
I side with sea, since his ammo discount is a god send at lower levels. Has for morel standing, I feel that people should be allowed some secrets in their life, for better or for worse. For myself, I prefer practically over favor.
I remember when I first played Fallout 3 and came to River City. I mistook the building out front for the entirety of the settlement. I thought “THIS is the safest city in the Capital Wasteland!?” I was in awe when I figured out what the real settlement was.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how creative it is to use an old aircraft carrier as the setting for a major city? I'd love to see something like this in a future fallout game!
Moral decisions aside, during my play through of Fallout 3, I was dedicated to finding the best weapons that I could get my hands on, as well as any available upgrades to the weapons and schematics. As a result, siding with Bannon becomes necessary, he's got one of only 3 schematics for the Deathclaw Gauntlet upgrade. You can't steal the schematics, so siding with him is a requirement. Sometimes, you don't even get lucky enough to see the randomized Deathclaw encounter that spawns the merchant with the other Gauntlet schematic too. There's been talk that the Brotherhood of Steel killed everyone on board Rivet City and stole their power supply, but I don't think this is true. They probably took over the city and stole the power supply, forcing everyone else to evacuate and move to new settlements. An underhanded play, but a solid one, considering the residents were only using a fraction of the available power output to run lights and keep the science lab operational. The Capital Wasteland does become a great deal safer after the events of Fallout 3, so the other settlements could probably become far more viable long term as places to defend. Also, does everyone remember that purified water is toxic to Mirelurks? After you start Project Purity, and purified water is everywhere, all the Mirelurks swimming around the bay area start rapidly losing health and then suddenly die. Mirelurks were always a problem for Rivet City, but with Project Purity up and running, there might have been a new method developed to deal with them that is much less risky. So, all in all, abandoning Rivet City eventually anyway might not have been a bad idea.
i dont think they took it, even in real life you would have a few choices for a reactor and in fallout they have ben at war for years so they would have even more carriers
The Battle of Oriskany was more skirmish that cut off supplies that lead the victory of Sarataga as for the USS. Oriskany, Senator McCain few several missions of the Mighty O during Nam. my mom works at the museum here in Oriskany, NY
year late in saying this but i think in reality that Bannon was surprised that Seagraves had a dark past, the guy was more hoping there was dirt and was legit shocked when he found out there was dirt. note i dont think Bannon is a saint but i dont think that he did such a thing as plant evidence either, i could care less about the politics though, he has a Deathclaw Gauntlet Schematic with my name on it, while all Seagraves has for me is an Ammo discount, sorry but Bannon has the better offer.
Feel like when i was a kid , i wake up and run to my phone to see if ox released a video today and when it hapen: i feel like when i was a kid and the looney toons finnaly come after the news
I’ve never understood why the P80 fighter from our timeline continued its service in Fallout until the day the bombs dropped. Strange how something from our 1950s lasted until their 2070s.
Toby Wood better aircraft were thought of and designed making that one obsolete, while innovation did probably come for aircraft after the divergence it probably wasn’t better than the p80 we see in fallout 3
It may have been a museum. There don't seem to be as many aircraft on it as there should be so the ones that are there may be for display. That would also explain why it was parked in Washington rather than at war with Chinese boats and subs in Alaska.
I showed this to my dad who served on the USS Oriskany in the Vietnam war, and he said without a doubt, that the aircraft carrier depicted as rivet city is the USS Oriskany. He thinks it is pretty cool to see the ship he was on, is in the game.
@Oxhorn; you know I enjoy your videos Ox. The word is O-risk-ken-ne. Oriskany is just 10 to 15 minutes from my hometown of Rome, NY. Keep up the good work!
Also Rivet City in the art book has the Island on the port side where as the USS Oriskany like all US Carriers has the island on the starboard side. Great video though, informative as always!
I just found out Oxhorn makes Fallout Lore videos and have watched SO MANY since last thursday night. Thanks for making these and analyzing everything in Fallout, Oxhorn. I am so interested in Fallout Lore and have longed for someone to aggregate all of this data together into one spot, and your channel is that place. Thanks!
I was gonna say that they're supposed to resemble Lockheed Shooting Stars, but you covered it lol. Another awesome video and story as always, now I gotta watch the rest of these Rivet City stories haha.
The most moral choice would be not doing the quest and siding with neither. Bannon hasn't done anything too wrong on the council but doesn't seem to keep the market places' best interest by suggesting a bridge tax that would strangle trade completely - and asking people to break into another person's room to find incriminating evidence is hardly good karma (what if there had been no letter? What would the next step be? Planting evidence?). But Holmes hasn't done anything to suggest he would be a good replacement on the council and wants you to frame Bannon for blackmailing, while what Bannon wanted was underhanded it wasn't blackmail. I wouldn't want to drop him in it however. It looks like he's trying to genuinely reform and put slaving behind him. Making it so literally no one in his home trusts him any more won't help. So morally... Leave them to their stalemate and just pay full price for things.
Funnily enough that was my choice until I watched this video and actually saw Bannon's computer entries. My Lone Wanderer didn't want to get involved with local politics and ignored the quest. Now though after seeing some of Bannon's schemes, the visitor tax, proposed water tax, and his 'weapons programme' I've decided he should be removed.
Rebecca Mumford Ahhh, but is Holmes the one to replace him? Sure, he's reforming like I pointed out... But his history means the slavers have some sort of leverage over him, he could be used as a foothold to establish a presence in Rivet City. Neither one are fit for a role on the council, but the devil you know right? Unless a third option shows up... I am against both, however at least Li and Harkness have a handle on Bannon. They know how to deal with him. They voted down all his taxes so far.
+ Becca Makin If the LW wipes out Paradise Falls, I doubt there would be anyone to even attempt any such thing (and Seagraves already refused the slavers multiple times).
Oxhorn, the USS Oriskany being an Essex class carrier would not have featured a nuclear reactor... Unless it was somehow retrofitted, which is doubt able IMO.
Oxhorn your vids are excellent, it really makes me regret not being patient in my playthroughs of fallout NV and Fallout 4. So much lore and details I've missed not taking my time and going through every terminal, listening to every holotape, and reading every note. You are the only youtuber that I can say I eagerly await the next video upload on. Thank you for the time and effort you put in and you've certainly earned your success.
Why does everyone think the BoS slaughtered the city? That's just a fan theory, it has no basis in fact. "We got a power supply from the city" doesn't mean "we turned everyone into ash and stole the boat's reactor".
Alex FRD It makes sense to them that the -Republicans- Brotherhood would destroy the city, and Danse (who lived in Rivet City) would just smile and nod at Maxson in approval.
Last time I checked, a bunch of former Minutemen were acting as raiders, Gunners, possibly slavers. Yet no one dares throw shade at the current game's knights of Camelot. Every faction in 4 has a glaring flaw to their ideology and operation. It tickles me how a bunch of fans dilute it to good factions and bad factions. They're all grey.
The point is that Maxson may be closer to the West Coast Brotherhood than Owyn and Sarah, but still he cares more than the Western BoS members. They would not destroy Rivet City, especially after the Aqua Pura project.
Does it bother anyone that when you become the general of the Minutemen it seems like you were just an errand boy? Like where the hell are the rest of the Minutemen. I find it funny how after you become a Raider and take over settlements out of nowhere Minutemen want to spawn and protect settlements.
Preston: I don't want to be General, it's not who I am. Either be our leader or you can't join. Welcome sir! Now, do everything I tell you while me and all the other Minutemen just walk around doing nothing. Lastly, there's another settlement who needs "our" help, I'll mark it on your map.
+ Tablesidebeast They are, unfortunately, very underdeveloped. Using Sturges as the source for building the teleporter (when he had trouble using a basic terminal when we first meet him) and coming up with a way to infiltrate the Institute that's never mentioned by the Brotherhood of Steel or the Railroad (and feels lazy if we're being honest) is disappointing. It should have been fleshed out - we should have recruited someone to build the teleporter, we should have taken back Quincy from the Gunners. It feels very much like a secondary faction, especially since Mama Murphy still gives the MM ending (via her prophecy) if you're the General and side with the BoS or the RR.
Irrelevant but I took it as more of how actual leaders were or should be, not sitting at a desk telling others to do things but out in the field doing things before calling backup, what's more inspiring then to be out on patrols and see your leader just walk by with a super mutant corpse over their shoulder and a rescued kid by their side? I think it actually gives me hope for the Minutemen to not suffer the problems that plague the ncr with corruption and leaders letting 1000s of soldiers die each year just to get reelected (great strategy I guess?) sure the life expectancy for the general is low but that just makes sure you have the best leader possible I guess? I don't know that's just how I look at it
Hey Ox, if you haven’t thought to do them yet, there are two vaults that we’re seemingly cut from fallout 4 called 180 and 117. Some mods, 180 was by NVidia of all people, have restored them and 117 is supposedly enormous. May be good to look into for the vault mini series
Ah I've been looking forward to this series ever since you hinted it Oxhorn. We've all been to Rivet City and done most of the quests-or at least I have. But I never manage to get as deep into the details of the lore as you do so most of your videos are familiar but always includes that extra detail or information I didn't find. Occasionally there are quests I never discovered back in the day and so watching your videos leads me to actually doing them on my current playthroughs of FO3 and NV. Its the same with Rivet City. My Lone Wanderer didn't really want to get mixed up in local politics, but now I know what kind of men Seagrave and Bannon are-and their policies I've decided to pick a side. In my case its Seagrave because Bannon is being a sleazy corrupt politician while Seagrave has apparently left his dark past behind him. Everyone deserves a chance to atone and he seems to be doing just that.
Can't even begin to describe how much I appreciate this. #3 will always be my favorite as it was the first I ended up trying out. Such nostalgia. Thank you for these videos, they are amazing
Much love, Oxhorn. Even if it's a story I already know, you have such a great way of telling it. I always appreciate the story so much more when you tell it.
When I use to play fallout 3 before I gave it to an friend I always went to rivet city after I swimmed in the Potomac but I didn't know about the USS Oriskany until I watched this video keep up the good work on fallout lore and the scotch and smoke rings livestreams. There was also an cut mission
Hi Oxhorn thank you for helping understand the lore of fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, i did not really know about it and now i love it because you so thank you!!!
Usually, I sided with Bannon, but now that I've seen this video I've changed my mind. Sure, Seagrave was a slaver, which I would usually punish with death, but he's reformed and is already having to deal with his past. I wouldn't be surprised if he had to use a Big Iron against slavers sometime soon to really clear his name. I'm not siding with Seagrave for the reward I get, I'm siding with him because I don't like Bannon's agenda. Let's take a look at that. Fence on the Flight Deck: It's probably the best idea on his agenda, after all the children and, well, a good man, could use something like that while they're on the flight deck. The thing I don't understand is why it has to be the council to do it. Surely a concerned citizen or two that cares about his or her community could put up a fence just as well, if not better, as the council. It just seems to me like a waste of the council's time. Gate Tax and Water Tax: I do like that drawbridge, and the defenses of River City could always use the bolstering. I think the two taxes are reasonable, I just hope the council doesn't get tax crazy, with things like Income taxes. Weapons Contribution Program: I see the name of this, and immediately I get red flags. It means one of two things, and neither I like. One, it's a program that collects the weaponry of people in River City, which is absolutely awful. Two, it gives out weapons to the people of River City for free, which is slightly less awful. I see no reason to ever put either into place. Besides my love for the second amendment in the bill of guaranteed rights, this goes against what Bannon is supposed to represent on the council, the marketplace, specifically Flak 'N Shrapnel's. If that program ever passes, it'll be a massive blow to the revenue of the two business owners, perhaps even put them out of business. Seagrave is my choice for the Market Representative Council Seat, and he should be yours too. Make Rivet City Great Again!
Thank you coolcleverstone, I hadn't touched this quest in my current playthrough as I was on the fence about which side I should take. Didn't know who to side for so I didn't get involved. After this video and your comment here I've now decided to support Seagrave next time my Lone Wanderer passes by Rivet City.
I imagine the council would be responsible for putting up the fence because fencing in the entire massive flight deck would require resources that would be more expensive than any one citizen could afford, and that’s kind of the role of their government. As for the taxes, yeah not too bad with just those two. With the weapons program, I always assumed it was a program to reward citizens that donated extra weapons to the city security, which I think is supported by the fact that their armoury basically has a pistol and a hammer in it
Rivet City. My favorite FO3 rest stop. Load up on Mirelurk Cakes and Nuka Cola. After the F-80 was decommissioned the were turned into the T-33 trainers that stayed in service till the 1980's. The naval version was the TV2 trainer, some of which had folding wings.
Your chanel and especially the Fallout Lore videos are awesome to me! I played FO3 and New Vegas, recently started playing FO4 what made me curious about the lore backgrounds which you explain very detailed and on a nice storytelling style, appreciate it
Thank you for all the videos you make Ox... I love the lore of fallout and you do an amazing job explaining it and you definately deserve way more subs than you get... keep up the good work
Hey ox. While the bridge extends you say that we only see the animation once, but it actually happens twice. The first is when you go there before finding "dad" and again after you find him and go back to rivet city with him.
Even though siding with Bannon is the morally straight thing to do unless you are playing a melee character he is as useless to the protagonist.Holmes on the other hand does have a steady supply of ammo wich in the later part of the game becomes useful making the choice immoral ,but clear .Fallout is notorious for making you choose the option for wich you would not do in modern civilization .
3:18 One thing i would like to point out is that the broken Bow is actually the ship's Stern (aircraft carriers don't have a flat bow, since that would slow them down)
Everyone deserves a second chance. Seagraves seems like a great guy but the people also deserve to know, and yet they shouldn't be so harsh. If I'm correct it was a while ago and has changed from that, so he should still be safe although we know he won't be safe from verbal abuse.
When I first got to rivet city, thought the platform that the bridge extended to WAS the city, not the boat. I spent about 30 minutes trying to figure out how to get in.
I think this is going to be the most riveting series so far...
A-hah...
Good one.
That made me smile.
You should be ashamed, but I know you aren't.
Get out
Personally I think Rivet City is the coolest city in the fallout world. It's just such a cool and creative idea for a town.
The-Changeling-King Definitely. The broken bow is also one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever seen.
Until BoS came
Still prefer the strip
Andrew's Lego, Tanks and More megaton!
In fallout 4 I used the castle settlement to make "new rivet" pretty cool
"To keep this city...afloat"
I see what u did there Ox, and im gonna let it slip for this time.
Also that ship is a good spot for a mirelurk den xD
Aladin Lizalo noooo XD
Yeeeessss
Aladin Lizalo what video was that from

Woah! Seagrave Holnes was actually at his shop! In every through I've played, he's never at his shop.
Satanic Sponge he's only at his shop one day a week (Mondays maybe?) I think. As in a fallout week not a real week of course.
Same! There’s been play throughs where I have to wait several days before finally getting to talk to him
Saku Rose I think one of the characters in rivet city might tell you which date he appears at.
30:38 HEY!
I was looking for a comment about that! :')
LISTEN!
What? we're not doing that?
HEY! 0/ *bends backwards

Should I go out with my friends tonight??
See’s New Oxhorn video.
Sorry guys I’m busy

Hello Harkness my old friend.
I’ve come to talk to you again.
We see what you did there 😅
Great "timelapses" and camera shots during narrations! You raise the bar once again, Ox!
Genuine question, how do you pronounce your last name?
I loved this city, I love FO4 but I wish there was some more interesting locations like this. Idk it's just so fun to see cities/homes where they shouldn't be. I thought the house the super mutant with the dogs built out of a crashed plane was kinda cool. But yeah, nothing like Rivet City.
I do love rivet city hanging out with Ted strayer getting high , but diamond city is pretty cool too
Well this aged poorly💀

RoadRoller yeah xD
These are documentaries in a way, aren't they?
But, yeah, he's definitely got the voice for it.

Rivet city is my favorite location in all of fallout. thank you so much for giving it a multi episode treatment.
Oxhorn, the USS Oriskany being an Essex class carrier would not have featured a nuclear reactor... Unless it was somehow retrofitted, which is doubt able IMO.
this is the fallout universe my friend it was probably built with one in the 1st place
8bitfrenzy so, your saying the fallout universe managed to create naval reactors in 1945?
More likely it was retrofitted with one during a refit,.

That could happen, but I think that the Lyons, who were at the time, leading the BOS in Fallout 3, would not do that.
I'm really glad this channel exists, it gives me a chance to have a nerd out on one of my favorite video game series, Fallout.
Greetings from Australia Ox.
My favorite place in Fallout 3, and out of all the recent Fallout games.
I don't know that's just how I look at it
Tablesidebeast I personally liked doing the quests also it’s a god cap farm
What does this have to do with the video lmao
It TOOK ME AGES for my small little brain to figure out you have to talk to the intercom to enter Rivet City, years ago.
BECAUSE WE BUILT THIS CITY ON NUTS AND BOLTS RIVET CITY!!!!!!!!!
Hey Ox, if you haven’t thought to do them yet, there are two vaults that we’re seemingly cut from fallout 4 called 180 and 117. Some mods, 180 was by NVidia of all people, have restored them and 117 is supposedly enormous. May be good to look into for the vault mini series
i wonder if a young not yet synth Paladin danse is wandering around in rivet citty
2006 was the year i started watching your videos, your voice brings back so many memories! Keep these coming, love em!
"young people longing for forbidden love" as the camera pans to a woman running towards a dog.
2:39 The synth plot line was brilliant foreshadowing to the events of fallout 4
Alright i'm rewatching this video again because I keep falling asleep. Ox why is your voice so calming
Can't even begin to describe how much I appreciate this. #3 will always be my favorite as it was the first I ended up trying out. Such nostalgia. Thank you for these videos, they are amazing
1:08 You cannot convince me that you didn't purposefully say "many raisins" as an Old World Blues Reference.
Alex FRD I'm certain he had a very good raisin for doing so
Nv came out a year after f03, so its the other way around
I read that wrong sorry lol
Jim Lahey 2 Years
Alex FRD Or Futurama, "The Day the Earth Stood Stupid"
I also gave the thirsty man some purified water. No charge. My character is also a good karma character.
Would it be the oriskany or just a generic Essex-class aircraft carrier?
Much love, Oxhorn. Even if it's a story I already know, you have such a great way of telling it. I always appreciate the story so much more when you tell it.
Seagrave is clearly not morally sound, you just try to talk to him and he points his crotch at you!
When I use to play fallout 3 before I gave it to an friend I always went to rivet city after I swimmed in the Potomac but I didn't know about the USS Oriskany until I watched this video keep up the good work on fallout lore and the scotch and smoke rings livestreams. There was also an cut mission
First time playing FALLOUT.3 , going to rivet city for the first time . I thought the city was that little fort with the intercome XD
+Coolcleverstone Well, you convinced me to not side with Bannon
Bannon confirmed for commie
Thank you coolcleverstone, I hadn't touched this quest in my current playthrough as I was on the fence about which side I should take. Didn't know who to side for so I didn't get involved. After this video and your comment here I've now decided to support Seagrave next time my Lone Wanderer passes by Rivet City.
ua-cam.com/video/pPArO-OI_3U/v-deo.html :)
I imagine the council would be responsible for putting up the fence because fencing in the entire massive flight deck would require resources that would be more expensive than any one citizen could afford, and that’s kind of the role of their government. As for the taxes, yeah not too bad with just those two. With the weapons program, I always assumed it was a program to reward citizens that donated extra weapons to the city security, which I think is supported by the fact that their armoury basically has a pistol and a hammer in it
Yessssss. One of my favourite fallout locations of all time. Stoked for part two!
I remember buying a Chinese jumpsuit from the clothing merchant Bannon
Love your stuff Oxhorn. Thanks for making the Fallout games more immersive by explaining the Lore so well.
Thank you oxhorn, very nice
it's very nice.
👌
Rivet City. My favorite FO3 rest stop. Load up on Mirelurk Cakes and Nuka Cola.
After the F-80 was decommissioned the were turned into the T-33 trainers that stayed in service till the 1980's. The naval version was the TV2 trainer, some of which had folding wings.
Tbh after telling Carlos I had no water I shot him with a laser rifle
26:05 maybe an F2H-2?
The effort you put into these is top notch. Your really good at what you do
9:46 yeah a fancy lads snack cakes is a nuka Cola

“There was some sort of battle yesterday in the city, the gate guard said she heard gunfire”
“I am the fucking gate guard”
I love this guys voice!
Tom Hanks did it first.
He is not just, “This guy” he’s a goddamn god of narration...
Kurt Cobain He makes me uncomfortable
Kurt Cobain i loved yours too before that noscope

You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this!!!
This was a riveting video that made me want to play fallout 3 again.
TheDarkKnight7R Saw what ya did there
Your chanel and especially the Fallout Lore videos are awesome to me!
I played FO3 and New Vegas, recently started playing FO4 what made me curious about the lore backgrounds which you explain very detailed and on a nice storytelling style, appreciate it
"which is a lieeeee!"
thanks for the video. Fallout 3 is my favorite Fallout game.
Rivet City = Vegas Strip = Diamond City
Diamond city. Did you like it? I‘m not sure.
Thank you for all the videos you make Ox... I love the lore of fallout and you do an amazing job explaining it and you definately deserve way more subs than you get... keep up the good work
"a pile of blood" is that accurate? 😂 wouldn't it be a puddle? if it's dried blood, simply a blood stain?
Hey ox. While the bridge extends you say that we only see the animation once, but it actually happens twice. The first is when you go there before finding "dad" and again after you find him and go back to rivet city with him.
Even though siding with Bannon is the morally straight thing to do unless you are playing a melee character he is as useless to the protagonist.Holmes on the other hand does have a steady supply of ammo wich in the later part of the game becomes useful making the choice immoral ,but clear .Fallout is notorious for making you choose the option for wich you would not do in modern civilization .
quinton quill
Bannon is a liberal tho.
In love with your content man. These videos help me relax late at night when I can’t sleep!
Oxhorn do you like river city of megaton more?
I am a human male that's not gay
"River City"
"R I V E R C I T Y"
"*R I V E R C I T Y*
Fanfiction Writer we need to blow megaton
Jusweb le québéquois ;)
megaton is better my house is there.
Lol
3:18 One thing i would like to point out is that the broken Bow is actually the ship's Stern (aircraft carriers don't have a flat bow, since that would slow them down)
Hey oxhorn in all of fallout what is your favorite and least favorite faction just wondering
Big Stinger maybe just maybe MINUTEMAN FROM FALLOUT 4
Oxhorn love your work on the old world blues fallout new vegas series. Keep up the great work.
Bannon is a greedy fellow and seems very narcissistic so I always side with Seagrave
Of the amount of play through a I've had on fallout 3, I never knew about this quest
ASMR OXHORN
Oxhorn you are my favourite Fallout youtuber :D
Everyone deserves a second chance. Seagraves seems like a great guy but the people also deserve to know, and yet they shouldn't be so harsh. If I'm correct it was a while ago and has changed from that, so he should still be safe although we know he won't be safe from verbal abuse.
When I first got to rivet city, thought the platform that the bridge extended to WAS the city, not the boat. I spent about 30 minutes trying to figure out how to get in.
