I actually gave them a B- draft ( better than before), but what I didn't like was NO Center or RT at all. Early I could understand, but later there was a few guys available. In UDFA, no Tackles again.
Very disappointed on 2024 draft. We are the same team - Armstead, did not upgrade on OL. Did we learned anything from past games? Purdy run for his life look at other team their OL protect their QB got time to throw.
D. I didn’t like anything they did in this draft. WR was not an immediate need and the pick was a reach. They could have addressed WR next year. If they re sign BA it a total wasted pick.

I agree....I love Deebo but Jennings may be the smarter long term keep. I guarantee if Jennings goes to another team he becomes a #1 & crushes it

That is until Deebo or BA go away then you will probably be happy they got one.
Love the Pearsall pick!! Good speed, route running and hands. Very polished and versatile as a receiver.
2 WR's when the O-line is so weak outside of Williams, need at least 2 new starters so should have draft JPJ who will be a all pro Center for years to come.And still need a RT and a future LT.
Jennings has the ability to get under the other teams skin like no one else. Saw it a dozen times past 2 seasons. He makes the other team commit a lot of stupid penalties every time he's on the field. It's a practiced art that he has perfected!!

I thought more emphasis should have been placed on solidifying the O-Line to give Purdy more time in the pocket…but I understand the WR pick being that price wise one of the current WR’s may have to be traded.

In my opinion you draft your biggest needs in the first 2-3 rounds and then everything else the rest of the draft. Just my opinion.
Honestly thought we would go the same route of drafting receivers amd defensive line lol . But they did a decent job ..
Thanks Chase. You know I ride with you all the way and I think you have it. I see Pearsall as Deebo replacement. he doesn't and won't get the run play package but that is tired now as Deebo is too well known as a runner. If a deal is done that will be it. I think we eat the BA contract for a year as we are all in it to win it. This team can win it. I give us a "B" on the draft. Bang Bang!!

Once a player gets paid well, they start to play carefully and doesn't hassle as much. They also , all of a sudden, develop injuries that require them to rest to 3-4 weeks then start balling before the season ends. Then when they want a bigger contract, they start playing well again and so on until they get a much bigger contract and then wind down their career.

I've already written that I disagree with your B- grade on Peasall and why. I give it a B+. Overall, I lower the grade to B for all 7 rounds because they did not address the need at Right Tackle. I'd hoped Puni was their answer, but after full review including that Puni heard the Niners plan is to move him inside, RT remains a problem for me. However, take that with a grain of salt because I acknowledge that the O line gave up the 6th least sacks in 2023 so despite the RT they got the job done on an offense that was 4th best in the running AND passing game, and 3rd overall. With our system and 2 new toys (Pearsall and hopefully Cowing) the ball should still get out quickly and Purdy should be even better in the pocket, on the move and scrambling. Plus the added OL interior depth should improve us. So I don't foresee a drop off unless McKivitz gets Purdy injured, then all bets are off. And there still might be a trade out there for a Right OT before the season starts, either a rookie or a vet who is better than McKivitz. And I do really like the selection of Green, but would have preferred they used later picks to leapfrog the Ravens to get Rosengarten at RT. Still I think Green has a big impact on the back end of our defense, which should bring the D line back to his 2022 ferocity and glory.

I think we keep both Deebo and Aiyuk THIS year.
I believe the Forty Niner done well for themselves drafting players that will help them now and the near future thumps up to Lynch&the coaching staff for the job done well 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
B A isn’t those other receivers, he’s not a home run threat. He’s a great route runner and a great blocker.
Debo will probably be the one to go, as hard as that is to imagine
If a WR has to go then it’s got to be Deebo he misses to many games we can still win without him

Yes…They will both still be on the team along with Pearsall and Cowing. But Kyle doesn’t like to start rookie Wr’s unless he absolutely has to do it. Most of this draft seemed to be for next year and not this year’s production. I could be completely wrong and I hope I am. But this draft is a C+ to B-. All the while the Cards, Balt, Philly, KC, GB and Pittsburg all got stronger in this draft.
Did the Cards, Balt, Philly, KC, GB and Pittsburg all get better? I have my doubts. What bothers me about the draft coverage in 2024, is that the sports writers seem sure that this is a great draft, but the past month I have seen article after article saying the 2021 or 2022 drafts had a large number of busts. Why is this year different?
@@johnfleet235 time will tell. But by moving around and maximizing their draft capital they all picked some players that were studs in college and on paper. They covered weakness and built on strengths. The Chargers did well too. Vidal and Rice that late are genius picks imo. This year has a lot of 5th and 6th year seniors. Maybe those kids in 21/22 came out too early to really be developed fully. Covid really F’d this sport up and we’re still feeling the effects of it.
We don't know until they pad up! Could have all hitters or busts.. I like lynch and Shan as a team.. We been in the post season conversation more times than not in recent years.. Let's wait and see
I likes everything they did with the exception of the first draft pick because Keon Colman was available, and he's a better wr.
I don't hate any of the picks in the draft, I just thought a lot of them were about a round or two earlier than they should have been, (with the possible exception of Puni, who might turn out to be a steal but at the wrong position, if he plays at guard as it seems he will). I'm really disappointed that we continue to not address OT year after year, and Trent isn't getting younger, and McKivitz isn't getting better.
The 49ers always had a problem with round 1 except for bosa I would have liked Oline tackle or guard or center

Maybe Kyle wants to move more towards a traditional zone run and west coast pass style offense with less gadget plays . So that means deboo would be on the outside looking end . Ricky will move to the slot and maybe we draft another WR next year or trade for one
In my opinion the NFL is now running though the Wide Receiver position and one thing the 49ers can’t afford not having depth at that position if BA gets hurt or Deebo, now with slick Rick you gets a plug and play guy and easier to find open in 3rd down situations
I think of course we have Deebo Aiyuk Pearsall all playing together in 2024. Despite what media was trying spin I didn't pay much attention to it at all. For me 2024 was never a question, now if we get to the off season of 2025 and both Deebo and Aiyuk haven't resigned then the question is what will be in 2025. To me the media was reporting anything they heard and blowing this entire thing up 1 year to early.

Good stuff, nice recap. I see a whole lot of 2025 talent here. The writing is on the wall, the Niners will have to pay Purdy and they will probably part with Deebo to make room. They are going to need a new Left Tackle by 2026 and who knows what else they are going to have to pay for by then. ***********The common thread I have heard about every pick of the 49ers is that they all have grit, drive and a personal commitment to winning.******. These are the types of personalities you need to win when things get tough! Love it!

I rate their choices an A- prediction Brandon will strike a deal and Deebo will restructure the contract he wants to win for than one Super Bowl

All the increase in salary cap just means the fans will be paying more and at this rate the NFL will price itself out of the middle class budget. Lot of old school fans I know have already lost interest and most of gen Z are not into sports in general. NFL, along with other pro sports will at some point price itself out of the middle class fanbase. And it may happen sooner then we think.

I don't think they'll get AIYUK signed. The money 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑💰💰💰💰💰 has grown exponentially because the market has grown exponentially. And it hasn't even got to J.J. and Cincy yet. We should've got this done sooner but maybe the NINERS ( Lynch has got something else in mind. I wish I could be optimistic, but AIYUK is worth what the market has dictated.
Purdy is going to have a hard time staying healthy & hitting on these weapons with this shady O-line
Simple decision keep both and dump GRAY, TAYLOR, and give BELL one more chance but only one!! Figure Pearsoll will be good and probably the other new guy. Do go with 9 for this season!

Chase is actually an Eagles fan that covers the Niners…But the Niners are growing on him. He knows football and could cover any of the teams tho. Sometimes it’s better to have an outsider prospective so it’s not all Rah Rah cheer cheer BS.

You are intelligent and it shows, the 49ers selected players to give the backups as strength, because they want to maintain the level of strength that exists at this time. No body better than CMC, deebo, George or Brandon, just players to heat the backups

Leverage and they could franchise tag Brandon and extend it out two years the employer has the leverage
