Annie Lennox has a very powerful voice. The Eurythmics had a lot of great hits in the 80's-90's such as "Sweet Dreams", "Who's That Girl?", "Right By Your Side", "Would I Lie To You?", "It's Alright (Baby's Coming Back)", "Love Is A Stranger", "Missionary Man" etc. Annie has had a great solo career too with many hits.
Annie is an icon... and Dave Stewart is musician's musician. Very well-respected by other musicians. Such a smooth guitar player. His tone is often solid and warm. Amazing combo!
Annie Lennox is one of the greatest female vocalists of the past forty years. Check out some of her solo work like her cover of "Whiter Shade of Pale", "No More I Love You's", and "Why".
I've been mostly a meta/hard rock fan since about 1973 but the album this song was on is one of my all time favorites. Her voice and his guitar are simply phenomenal.
This song came out in 1983, and I have sang it in my head before it rains since. If I remember right, the music video was really good. Annie has always looked like that, only with red hair, so maybe Matrix was based off her. 😂 Good pick, Biss!! ❤
Listening to the eurythmics live is best especially with open talents of Dave and Annie on stage with backing group. Biss you would definitely have enjoyed concert. Great reaction as always. Cheers. .
Yes Miss Bisscute, thanks for this one👍👍👍 Annie L. It's a great singer and performer for me one of the best female voices. Please continue reacting to live performances those are your best. Next Eurythmics song: Sweet dreams
Can't go wrong with Annie...haven't heard this acoustic version, it was great, you should still check out the radio edit because Eurythmics had a wonderful way of pairing her voice with unique instruments. Annie also did a solo album after this band that was fantastic
When the Eurythmics split up Annie Lennox had a amazing solo career, I cannot recommend enough a song Annie Lennox wrote herself called ( WHY ) the song is phenomenal but listen to the music video version it’s a special video, Annie was voted the greatest white female soul single alive by VH1 and one of 100 greatest singers of all time by Rolling Stone the Official Charts company, the Scottish singer has sold over 80 million records worldwide, great reaction thanks 🙏
Super reaction and even more enjoyable for me because I've never seen this stripped down / acoustic version of the song. It is truly magnificent! Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart are proper talented musicians.
The song was originally performed with lots of electronic musical instrumentation and fast, not slow, so the slow, acoustic start was a newer choice and people expect the song to be faster and rocking, so it makes sense.
Bisscute, it is always a pleasure to see your honest, excited reactions to new bands and songs. The original version of this song is an up tempo pop song. I think this slower acoustic version allows the lyrics and Annie's voice to shine more brightly and Dave to show off his guitar skills.
An even more moving performance is * The miracle of love* live. I hear it over and over again in stages. Thanks for the charming reaction. Eurythmics are great and Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart are absolute musicians.
Yes, they do have sort of a matrix vibe going on here. Their eclectic style goes way back before the Matrix though. What a talented singer! Interesting version of this song to.
Bisscute, truth is I think the matrix was probably inspired by her. Loved this version but you should also see the original version of their songs. They were ground breaking and very different from all before.
Been noting your Love for the Saxophone 🎷...Try "Lilly was Here" it is an instrumental...Featuring Candy Dulfer...I believe she is a Dutch Saxophonist...Alongside of David A Stewart (of The Eurythmics)...I think you'd appreciate that immediately Bisscute! Loved your reaction to our Annie!:) She is Scottish!:) The Eurythmics are a great Band! She also has a few huge Solo Hits! So lots of great Musical 🎶 Discoveries ahead!:)
Oi linda. Annie Lennox is amazing! I've always liked her music, both in Eurythmics and in her solo career. To this day, she makes videos singing like one of her daughters, which is also incredible. I suggest the song "There Must Be an Angel" which also has the incredible participation of Stevie Wonder playing The Harmonica. The video is very good. It's worth checking out.
she is one of my favourite singers. "into the west" from the lord of the ring soundtrack is an iconic song as well. thank you for your fine reaction and appreciattion of annie lennox and the eurythmics, biss.
But this video wasn't, she's referring to the fashion style, not the song, although that fashion style is very much Annie Lennox, regardless of Matrix.
What would we do without your great presence in the chair Bisscute as you always add something extra magical to when you present us with your great thoughts on some amazing performers and especially Annie Lennox who has one truly amazing beautiful singing voice shes a true legend and I remember back in the 70s when she was in a band called the Tourists she was great then and nothing has changed she's pure magic as you are also with your take on whatever you play as you understand music and you appreciate great bands as we all appreciate you well and truly thank you Bisscute you are awesome ❤
Thanks for this Biss, I've never seen this performance before - I love an accoustic guitar too and Annie's Lennox's style predates The Matrix by some years. I really enjoy it, when you feel the music, good for you, great reaction. :)
It seemed like everyone focused more on “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of These)” as far as it being a big hit, but I always liked this song better. And this atmospheric live rendition is incredible.
🔥🔥🎼 .. this is a hot one Bisscute. I also really felt the 🎸 guitar ! If you want to see Annie Lennox with her full DIVA on display .. react to the amazing cover of Queen's " Under Pressure " .. performed by Queen with Annie Lennox & David Bowie singing at the Freddie Mercury honorary concert after his passing. She is dazzling 🔥🔥🔥
I actually like this version of the song more than the original. The Eurythmics consisted of Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart (guitar). You want to hear a rockin' Eurythmics song, react to "Would I Lie To You" (official video) or their reggae song "Right By Your Side. They are very versatile. 😎
While I wouldn't suggest Anne's voice could be considered beautiful but dynamic and distinctive she slays. One of my favorite. Bonnie Raitt Floor Jansen Haley Reinhart Regina Spektor
Nice tone on that guitar. This was a killer duo. Annie is a stunning contralto. She won an Acadamy Award for her song "Into the West" from Lord of the Rings. Check out the original video of "Sweet Dreams are Made of This", She was gorgeous with a red crewcut and a red lip.
HEYYY Honey…. Annie Lennox is a GODDESS! AND… she is an honest-to-goodness CHAMELEON. The earliest footage I’ve seen of these two performing live was at a 1984 music awards show… And Annie was completely dressed up as… ELVIS PRESLEY! In the Eurythmics 1980s era, Annie always performed dressed as an androgynous “man” as a statement against how women were treated in the music industry. Later in the 1990s, she did some solo albums with a series of FANTASTIC music videos where - in every video - she appears as a completely different “character”… including a couple of Marilyn Monroe-style “blonde bombshells”… and, one dressed like Minnie Mouse!😸 (There’s also one where she’s wearing part of a horse costume.) Then, in 1997, there are some infamous “Red Bra” live performances of the Eurythmics song: “Would I Lie To You”.😵 My FAVORITE Eurythmics music video is the song: “I Need A Man”.😁 (One of Annie’s blonde bombshell performances) I love two of her solo albums: Diva and Medusa SO MUCH, I actually wore out my CDs of them.
Thank you. Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart have been performing together since 1976. There first big hit as the band "Eurythmics" was in 1983 with their second album, "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)". If anything the look of the movie "The Matrix" might have been inspired by them.
I think that was Dave Stewart on guitar ham and Candy Duffer do some good stuff I could be wrong about this guitar player Dave Stewart what is mannerisms looks like him end of the way he plays the guitar. But she did an excellent performance I love it.
Probably in the chat of twitch, I usually come late only for the last song if I am lucky, they already talked to you about the guitarist Dave Stewart, one of the best in the '80. You like also sax so you must react to Lily was here, a duo between him and the female saxophonist Candy Dulfer. The duo between the guitar and the sax is amazing, one of the best ever for me. P.S. Probably Matrix was inspired by her lol
Your reactions are fascinating . You obviously have good taste in music. The Eurythmics are one of the best 80s Bands Ever. Annie lenox is a British legend. Lose Rob uk❤
Hey! You should really check out Dave Stewart( Dave is the guitarist here in the Eurythmics ) and Candy Dulfer “Lily Was Here”. You get both guitar and sax!
This is my favorite song by this band, but never heard this version. You should listen to the official video to see why I liked it, but this wasn't bad. I agree with that guitar solo too.
It was mentioned during the live stream by a really smart guy named "TheBackupGoalie" (and how do I know that he's a really smart guy? Because he is me)...and it has also been mentioned elsewhere in the comments...but, I really hope you get the chance to check out "Lily Was Here" with Dave Stewart (the guitarist in Eurythmics) and Candy Dulfer (a sax player, who, among other credits, has toured with Prince).
Annie Lennox predates the Matrix by a large margin of time. She did not get her style from them lol
I would say that it fits with her typical ambiguous fashion, although it does look kinda Matrix inspired, it's typical Annie Lennox style.
I think she inspired the movie LOL😅😅😅
Do you mean early 80’s.
That would be correct 55 year old X burnout still feeling the effects LOL
Annie Lennox has a very powerful voice. The Eurythmics had a lot of great hits in the 80's-90's such as "Sweet Dreams", "Who's That Girl?", "Right By Your Side", "Would I Lie To You?", "It's Alright (Baby's Coming Back)", "Love Is A Stranger", "Missionary Man" etc. Annie has had a great solo career too with many hits.
Indeed they did. Plus Annie had a string of hits with the Tourists too.
One of the best voices of the 1980s. 🤘🏻🤟🏻
I dont know whats better your accent or the songs you react too.I love seeing your generation react to the songs I grew up with.
Agreed, cute and very charming. And don't forget those beautiful eyes.
The accent
My friend was part of the crew (drum tech) on many of Annie's tours and always says that you couldn't wish to meet a nicer, humble person
Annie is an icon... and Dave Stewart is musician's musician. Very well-respected by other musicians. Such a smooth guitar player. His tone is often solid and warm. Amazing combo!
Annie Lennox is one of the greatest female vocalists of the past forty years. Check out some of her solo work like her cover of "Whiter Shade of Pale", "No More I Love You's", and "Why".
her voice in Whiter Shade of Pale is almost other worldly.
I love the Procol Harum original best.
“Why?” One of my favourites ❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥.
I've been mostly a meta/hard rock fan since about 1973 but the album this song was on is one of my all time favorites. Her voice and his guitar are simply phenomenal.
"Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves" and "When Tomorrow Comes" are pretty good.
there must be a angel 😍
This song came out in 1983, and I have sang it in my head before it rains since. If I remember right, the music video was really good. Annie has always looked like that, only with red hair, so maybe Matrix was based off her. 😂 Good pick, Biss!! ❤
Listening to the eurythmics live is best especially with open talents of Dave and Annie on stage with backing group. Biss you would definitely have enjoyed concert. Great reaction as always. Cheers. .
Annie and Dave, both are MASTERS ❤
Best version I've heard. Thanx for posting!
This song was released on January 12, 1984...that makes it 40 years old. How time flies!
Yes Miss Bisscute, thanks for this one👍👍👍 Annie L. It's a great singer and performer for me one of the best female voices. Please continue reacting to live performances those are your best.
Next Eurythmics song: Sweet dreams
I saw Dave Stewart in concert last month and he was great.
"My goose-bumpy legs are goose-bumping" Bisscute 2024 - epic sweetie! Fantastic reaction to a deeply gorgeous song.
"Why" is such a gem of a song, combined with its rawness and the grace of the music video its a emotional rollar coaster.
Super reaction and even more enjoyable for me because I've never seen this stripped down / acoustic version of the song. It is truly magnificent! Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart are proper talented musicians.
Annie Lennox is just so phenomenal. One of my favorite female singers ever. So mysterious, otherworldly, her voice just has a million layers.
The song was originally performed with lots of electronic musical instrumentation and fast, not slow, so the slow, acoustic start was a newer choice and people expect the song to be faster and rocking, so it makes sense.
Always loved Annie Lennox's voice. She really is iconic (an over-used word but applicable in her case.)
Bisscute, it is always a pleasure to see your honest, excited reactions to new bands and songs. The original version of this song is an up tempo pop song. I think this slower acoustic version allows the lyrics and Annie's voice to shine more brightly and Dave to show off his guitar skills.
Your reaction to the guitar solo has to be the cutest I have seen…and also sensual.
I love this song and Annie Lennox is an amazing performer and this is a great take on this song!
An even more moving performance is * The miracle of love* live. I hear it over and over again in stages. Thanks for the charming reaction. Eurythmics are great and Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart are absolute musicians.
Wonderful performance. 😊😊😊
If you want more try "Would I Lie to You?" or "Who's That Girl" or "Missionary Man".
Волна нежности и любви! Такая песня! Такая музыка! Превосходно! Темпераментная ведущая показала глубокий анализ и красивые эмоции!❤
Yes, they do have sort of a matrix vibe going on here. Their eclectic style goes way back before the Matrix though.
What a talented singer! Interesting version of this song to.
Would I lie to you is a simple amazing rock song.
Bisscute, your mind has officially been blown.
Annie Lenox has a beautiful voice. And what a guitar! Thanks for sharing this one. 🙂 Her solo recordings are fantastic as well.
Bisscute, truth is I think the matrix was probably inspired by her. Loved this version but you should also see the original version of their songs. They were ground breaking and very different from all before.
good one Dave stewart of Eurymithcs olso Annie Lennox , one of my favorite but live its not so dark as the studio
Been noting your Love for the Saxophone 🎷...Try "Lilly was Here" it is an instrumental...Featuring Candy Dulfer...I believe she is a Dutch Saxophonist...Alongside of David A Stewart (of The Eurythmics)...I think you'd appreciate that immediately Bisscute! great version of this song-great guitar!!! great choice sweet nice smart lady !!!!!!!
Dave Stewart can play the guitar well so bisscute becomes completely shy eurythmics are best live
So much different than the studio version. I love this version though.
This song was out 30 years before the Matrix
But this video wasn't, she's referring to the fashion style, not the song, although that fashion style is very much Annie Lennox, regardless of Matrix.
16 years before.
@@zebedeemadness2672 annie has always dressed like that though but i get your point
@@CaptainCaveman1170 close enough
I am writing this to help out bisscute and this video and this channel with the algorithm 🥰
It's a cracking album. The soundtrack to 1984. So much delicious detune!
- Your "rant" toward the end when the energy of the song picked up had me rolling w/ laughter!!! :D
Biss, your facial reactions have almost as range as Annie's voice, so fun to watch.
The song was released long before the Matrix movie Listen to the studio version of the song
The Matrix probably watched Annie Lennox...the Eurythmics predated the movies by decades.
Thanks for this Biss, I've never seen this performance before - I love an accoustic guitar too and Annie's Lennox's style predates The Matrix by some years. I really enjoy it, when you feel the music, good for you, great reaction. :)
That guitar gave me goosebumps.
I've never heard this sensuous version before. Love it.
It seemed like everyone focused more on “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of These)” as far as it being a big hit, but I always liked this song better. And this atmospheric live rendition is incredible.
My god such a beautiful song.
Annie Lennox is another great Scottish singer
Annie is one of the createst singer i've ever hear in my life. And Dave is a great Guitarplayer
Dave and Annie were sometimes labeled as the 'Captain & Tennille' of the 80's.
Hi Bisscute. The song came out in 1983 you should check out other songs by the band ❤❤❤❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💋💋💋💋
Annie's voice has been at the top of my list of female singers since the 80s
I like Love Song For A Vampire (Bram Stoker's Dracula soundtrack)
Great song! 👏 👏 👏 👏
🔥🔥🎼 .. this is a hot one Bisscute. I also really felt the 🎸 guitar ! Bonnie Raitt

I believe you'd like "There Must be an Angel", Biss Cute
Thanks biss
I love Annie and if you like Dave Stewart, listen to dave stewart with candy dulfer play “lily was here”.
Annie was probably the inspiration of those matrix outfits!
Excellent twist to the studio version. Annie still has it.......

When "SWEET DREAMS" came out in the 80's, those 2 were a couple, think they were married, Annie Lennox, and Dave Stewart
Annie and Dave broke up as a couple nearly 3 years before Sweet Dreams came out. They formed Eurythmics after separating
I think that was Dave Stewart on guitar ham and Candy Duffer do some good stuff I could be wrong about this guitar player Dave Stewart what is mannerisms looks like him end of the way he plays the guitar. But she did an excellent performance I love it.
It is Dave

Biss, I love the song, but I prefer the 1983 version. Thanks for giving us a look at this updated version.👍 Yer-rith-mics 😊
You can’t beat Annie. What a gem.
The song strikes a chord.
HELLO Biscuit. William s
You NEED to see Annie and David Bowie do 'Under Pressure' with Queen at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. It is a religious experience.
Great song from back when lyrics were important.
The Matrix wants to be Annie Lennox and Grace Jones when it grows up.
Epic Eurythmics
This is my favorite song by this band, but never heard this version. You should listen to the official video to see why I liked it, but this wasn't bad. I agree with that guitar solo too.

Annie Lennox was this cool long before "The Matrix" was even thought of! You need to check them out more!
I was waiting to see what happened to you when Annie cut loose. I wasn't disappointed. Some of the best Annie can be found on the Diva album.
Please.. React to the first album of Thirty Seconds to Mars.. No one else have a video of it.. 🙏
Bisscute.
Please consider 1987 Sydney Live performance of THE MIRACLE OF LOVE. I promise you will get the 'legs' feeling again and so much more.
Annie was a punk in the 70s, she definitely wasn't inspired by The Matrix!🇬🇧
Pcas bandas entendían la música como lo hacían ellos!! Gracias por reaccionar a éste concierto! 😊
