    It takes trauma to create the trigger. So what you’re saying is kind of wishy-washy, and I’m having trouble trying to understand.

      I'll assume you didn't mean any offense and are genuinely seeking to understand the message being conveyed. The essence of her explanation revolves around a choice we have, especially after engaging in healing practices: to view life through "trauma goggles"-lenses colored by our past experiences and the associated shame-or through the perspective of our true selves, unburdened by the stigma of our traumatic experiences. Around the 1:39 mark, she succinctly encapsulates the message: "What I want you to see is that you are not your trauma. Your trauma is something that happened to you that's been invalidated. And the more we validate the trauma, the less the goggles are so clear, right? We start seeing through the truth, rather than these trauma goggles all the time." She proceeds to introduce strategies for beginning to remove these goggles.
      Therefore, while trauma may trigger certain reactions, the aim is to show us how to manage and work through these triggers so that they no longer tether us to our past traumas. It's what Candace always says, "Get real about how you feel so you can heal."
