Hi Nick, you and your dad are a pleasure to watch, you seem to have a great working relationship and you're always positive and smiling. Makes us all smile watching at home! 😃👌
Hi nick your dad on the drill reminded me of the days when I used to ride the a Massey drill in the 70s with my dad on the ploughmaster 78 it was freezing in October 😨😨😨👍
Pleased your dad is ok ! Gotta be more careful Dad! And he is a cool guy not old ! mature is a better word lol.. logo fir them beans Vespa scooters if you know about them! ... Charlie 🇨🇦
I’m only 43… and I still work in ( cwt) (acres) etc… but can convert to metric in my head… from working with different age people over the years…20hundred weights in a tonne!!!
Hi Nick. What sort of beans are these? They look as though they could be what I just call broad beans? What are they for? I know that this sewing is a seed crop for next year, but will they be for human consumption, animal feed, or what? Enjoyed most of the video, although Dad’s finger sounded painful. Hope it heals soon!
Hi, so they’re the same species as broad beans but we just call them winter or field beans, can go for human consumption or feed, where we sell year after next will depend on market etc 👍
I think that’s a plan, once we work out rolling radius etc, not as easy at it seems unfortunately but still do able! Dad wants a smaller TM as well now, looking at maybe a 120-150 size and he mentioned putting terras on that but we’ll see 😂😂
@@NicksFarm An old farming friend on mine who I used to help out has a Ford 8360 and 8340 both with ridiculously low hours, only been used for a bit of topping and rolling as he's been using contractors for the last 20 years for everything. If he ever sold them either would be awesome tractors. Maybe take a look at the last of the Fords too, though finding a low hours mint one will be almost impossible - but they do exist as they are on a farm in Northumberland right now! The 60 series looks identical to the TM btw think they just changed the numbering series when the Ford name was finally removed.
Hello Nick, Any chance of some answers at some point please? Why harrow and not roll after sowing your beans? Am I right in thinking that you have chosen to sow them to provide nitrogen for the soil and then harvest the beans for seed or are they sold? Always like the videos although not expert on tractor types. Best wishes to you all there.
Hi Harry, yes we’ve chosen to grow them to keep the seed to grow on next year due to them being nitrogen fixing so good break crop between cereals 👍 as for not rolling, I’ve explained in a previous vid that whenever we drill (wheat barley etc) we tend to harrow before we roll as we like how it levels the field before the rolls go in, just personal choice really! As for not rolling the beans, mainly due to the conditions, little tacky out there and more rain coming! Thanks for watching 👍
Oh dad 🤣🤦♂️. I’ve no idea how you manage to cut yourself on a machine build to smooth!?!?🤷♂️🤦♂️Glad you ok thought 👍. Nice to see the beans going in well Nick 👌
Good thing things will slow down a bit and the season is over soon. There's nearly anything left of Dad, teeth, finger, being punched in the gut and Nick trying to run him over..... What's next 🤣
Great video nick, Claydon doing a good job as usual, although your meant to broadcast them and plough them in !! Glad you got all the drilling done. Shame you can't get them rolled . Hopefully they do okay. Wheres Ray?
Thanks mate, oh no I definitely did it the right way 😉 straight into wheat stubble just what the Claydon was made for 👌 Ray was making up some brackets for purlins for combine shed, still have one side to sheet!! Or he may have been having his lunch…..
I think UA-cam is trying to tell me you have the wrong tractor on the drill. Nice well placed advert for the new T7 Heavy Duty from New Holland.
winter will be here soont oo
I love the relationship between you and your dad, I know you two joke on a bit but you can see the respect between you 🙏🙏
Great video Nick tell Dad to be more careful in future A&E needs to be avoided 🙄😂😂 nice to see the old TW out again 👍
Well my backside has just clenched to watertight lol!

Oh yes Vespa scooters! A wizard on a scooter would make a good logo 🤔
Good video nick
Thanks Paul
Nice video mate

Atleast your dads finger is smooth now 😂
😂😂

Yeah I switch between the two, learnt metric at school but brought up by dad means there’s definitely a mix going on! 😂

Hi Nick and Dad I'm curious about the 12 inch row spacing on your seed drill
Hi Nick that drill doesn’t block as much as the old v drill used too
Yeah v drill did tend to block a fair bit to be fair
What extra is the harrowing bringing to the job?
Loving the sound of the TW engine! Any plans to get terra tyres for the TM to take some of the load off the old girl?

what scales do you use?
I'll work in metric or imperial but metric is more accurate when calibrating because you are using a bigger area as your target.
That’s a fair point 👍

I know, only Dad could manage that 🤦♂️😂
Would the TM pull the drill or the tw 20
No not powerful enough for the 6m Claydon!l unfortunately! Would look smart though blue and yellow 👍
How deep were you drilling those beans ?? Out of interest
Went in about 5 inches 👍
1 cwt or hundredweight is 112 lbs pounds 20 cwt in ton easy Nick 🤣🤣🚜👍🏴
Okay I’ll try and remember that….. 🤣🤣
soooo, it seems 'dad' doesn't have a good relationship with the jcb and the sander now
Nope 😬😂😂
Bet Dad weighs about 1cwt 1st 5lbs. 🤣🤣🤣
