You're probably gonna laugh at me but you're probably right. I wanted and really wanted to start smoking bcz all my neighbours around me smoke and they have a great time (including me) after we finish helping them on their field work But yea, they all smoke and they're all like: 'Ugh this feeling of smoking after a good work." So I tried and tried and tried for few years now (basically buying a pack of cigarette every 2nd or 3rd month) and I smoked 'artificially' because I did not like it and everytime I get either numb or I wanna throw up (feeling nausea). I still sometimes ask someone to give a cigarette just to try but I always feel nauseous. That is preventing me from starting smoking. I probably wasted 100 $ just trying to smoke, never enjoying it. I do train and run, so maybe my lungs don't accept tar and nicotine, can't say.
Gon Freecss It must be hard for you to quit when everyone around is smoking but using vapes also introduce you to usinhlg cigar smoking in the long run. It would be a good idea to tell everyone around you that you've experience difficulty breathing as an alibi. If they really care then they wouldn't tell you to do smoking. I am not a doctor btw, however try to lessen the use of artificial smoking. It'll help you quitting and you'll avoid the withdrawal effects of it.
The worst part about quitting for me was the feeling of loss. Like a part a part of my being was gone and i had nothing to replace it with. I feared this feeling would last for ever. I have good news for you trying to quit, the feeling doesn't last forever. A day will come when you go to bed and notice you haven't thought about smoking the whole day and you don't feel empty inside. When this day arrived for me i just laughed abit to my self and thought, "Huh, guess i'm not a smoker anymore".
@@brunoderkameramann3989 I used to envy my friends who never smoked that they didn't have the craving for a cigarette. But then I thought that they don't have a craving for it as I do not have a craving for heroine for example, I'm sure there are addicts out there envying me for that. That thought helped me battling the cravings when they arrived and they eventually disappeared, but sometimes the thought of "let's just have ONE for the party" comes in. Don't do it!
I don't get why people have to make such a big thing of quitting smoking. If you are motivated you'll be over it in a week: after that you no longer crave physically but you have to be aware of not falling back into the habit.
@@nicomeier8098 Because everyone is different some people have addictive personalities on top of being addicted to something like Nicotine while one person might be able to kick the habit with ease or a bit of self discipline others may struggle and find it harder to overcome addiction.

No, I appreciate how hard it is, they should get encouragement. But they shouldn’t of smoked it the first place, you choose to smoke that’s fine, you choose to quit that’s fine but don’t expect to be celebrated for quitting a bad habit you shouldn’t of really done to start.
My Grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer this year. We've both been through alot medically. She survived Lung cancer and 2 brain aneurysm's. I went through 2 surgeries that didn't benefit me and i'm still here. I'm keeping hope alive and staying strong for both of us. I wasn't able to eat for a year due to the surgery i had and lost 70 pounds. Even though i'm worried. @@catoshi. for me, the first week was tough, but everyday you don't smoke, the easier it gets. After two weeks, I rarely thought about it anymore...And I was a heavy smoker.
Smoked 20 to 30 a day for 30 years, started to feel generally unwell, had some heart and lung issues, and a few close calls, so decided I had to quit. Went cold turkey and managed to stop smoking. 10 years later I'm still here and able to tell the tale. There's always hope, stay strong and do your best.
In this boat. 30 years of multiple packs a day. Sadly I already screwed myself permanently as I have early stage emphysema. Cant do much without being unable to breath. I had childhood asthma which I outgrew, and as a typical teen thought I was invincible and began smoking and the decades just flew by. I didnt realize how bad my lungs were until it was way too late. I was trying to shovel a driveway last winter and I couldnt shovel more than 1 minute without having to sit down, and even sitting it would take 5-10 minutes to catch mybreath. Little by little through the years my stamina would shrink and I just didnt pay attention until it was so bad that it was hard to not notice. Always told myself I'd quit when I needed to or that I would notice the effect on my body and deal with it but I simply didn't notice until the damage was long done and mostly irreversible. I'll be yet another statistic in roughly 10-15 years.
I remember few years back after my wife died, I was left alone with 3 kids. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got addicted to cigarettes. I smoked for 24 years heavily. Also 22 years daily 5x marijuana. Stopping took me 30 minutes. I was contemplating it for 20 years though. :) It was so easy to do (giving up) I couldn't believe, I still can't.
I started smoking when I was 15. I was a chain smoker for 8 years and when I became 23, I decided to quit smoking. It took me around 1.5 years to fully stop it. Now I am 25 and I am proud of myself that I was able to quit it. If you want to quit smoking, your first step should be to start hating smoking and realizing that you have to quit it today or tomorrow. If I can quit it then you can do it too. no srsly don't search for a subtitue. do the opposite. I always took smoking a cig as sort of an a reward.. but what for? I stopped treating myself for having worked 1 hour or bravely waited for the bus for 5 minutes. I instead chewed a gum (I hate gum) and did the opposite of treating me. it's this circle. it helpes at firs but when you're really shortly b4 smoking 1.. than treat yourself. for NOT doing it. the first 2 weeks are the hardest, so you're halfway there. after that, it's ez not to. I even got drunk with my still-smoking friends and still did not want to smoke. yes. it's been harder to resist as usual, but it's still way easier to resist, than to be weak. but remember!! NEVER be weak. quitting smoking mean NEVER AGAIN. That all sounds a lot like a help-urself-book, but I really made up my mind about this. maybe stay away from occasions, where you'll eventually get temped, for 1 or 2 weeks and after that, you're pretty much done :) And! I gotta say, even thou I gained a lil weight (smoking stops your feel of hunger), I feel much more fit and relaxed. You can do it and I'm very proud of you guys. And don't stop masturbating.

After the first few days you are done with the physical needs. Then it's just a stupid habit. The absence of the logistics of being in supply is one of the things I like the most. No checking before the store closes. Nothing before I go somewhere. Just leave. I'm free.

One of the most important things I learned just before I quit smoking (40 years ago), was that aside from all the paradoxical effects of nicotine withdrawal (morning sleepiness, nighttime insomnia, mood swings, etc.), was this: *your cravings will arise about as often as you smoke, and will remain intense for only about 5 to 7 minutes, which is about as long as it takes to smoke a cigarette.* So here’s the key to getting rid of the habit, once you’ve determined that you are DONE with it and want to stop forever: *As soon as the craving kicks in, get up and do something physical that requires your whole body to do, AND your focus- sweep a garage, shovel a dirt pile from one side of the yard to the other, then back- until the craving stops. As you do this, the cravings will become farther and farther apart, and less and less intense, until you no longer need cigarettes at all.* You MUST NOT go drinking- stay out of pubs, and out of the cars and homes of people who smoke, for a month. *Youll know you’ve quit for real when you smell tobacco smoke, and your first thought is “Echhhh... gross.”*
It sucks because some of my coworkers smoke and I would chill with them on a smoke break and lately I decided to wuit smoking because i got sick and started coughing out some icky stuff… no more of that.
Thats facts. When i ate fatty foods (especially fried meat) or drank cup of hot coffee my craving arises. So about 10-15 minutes its getting peaking. After 15 minutes i think i dont need to smoke rn. This circle keep going like that. Almost every time im smoking after a good fatty meals i eat. I think after eating fatty hot meals makes nic addiction kicking off

I quit smoking in December 2013 cold turkey after 40 years and 2 packs a day. I'll admit the first week after is the hardest. I kept thinking ( a week ago I was smoking.) BEST ADVICE: You yourself will know when it's time for you to quit. Not because of New Years Eve, not because someone tells you to quit. DO THIS FOR YOURSELF !!!!!!!!!! GET RID OF ALL TEMPTATIONS When you decide to quit, make sure there are NO CIGARTETTES ANYWHERE in the house, in the car, ANYWHERE. Focus on the goal and not on "I need a cigartette". Good Luck and Stay Strong.
I disagree. I kept half a carton of smokes in my drawer for 6 months. My wife continued to smoke. If your going to be successful your going to need to quit while being around cigarettes. Avoiding them only teaches you to quit with no cigarettes around, but as we all know that is not the real world of quitting, cigarettes are/were everywhere!!

Yes, for me the challenge really started when the constantly smoking people were back in my life again. After a month being far from any. Alone, the battle was fine. The urge for a cig doesn't last so with none around, it's way easier to let go of that urge. Then, I got back to the city and the constant smokers. Break : cig. Drink : cig. Between drinks : cigs. A 5mins walk : cig. They want to talk to you : cig. That was so hard. Right now I still don't feel capable of resisting to it because of higher than normal stress, so I cut off a lot of social interactions. That's sadly necessary because you can't expect people to quit, and I've noticed most smokers feel ashamed around a former smoker, and they lash out, like " It's easier for you than it would be for me because you never been that big of a smoker ". Heard that one a lot, especially from girls. The last thing you need during a challenge against yourself is someone putting himself in the center of it. For all these reasons, social environment has to change, at least for a time. But you do get to realize that cigarette really is associated with junkies talks and habits.
He can, he just doesn't want to. I smoked for 7 years and quit because I wanted to... But I do admit that I smoke pot from time to time once every 2-5 weeks since edibles are not that easy to get or make here because it's illegal in my country, and also the price is one of the highest in the world as much as I know, otherwise I would eat only edibles since I enjoy the effects. Also, smoking pot is fcking awesome with LSD which I like to use every few months.
The worst thing that anyone can do for himself is to smoke really.. my fingers shaking, my feet’s pain my lung and heart as well but i decided to stop smoking once and for all and i did it!, it’s just a decision and you stick to it, i really now felt that i didn’t feel or taste anything in my life with this bad habit of smoking!

I didn’t know your body returns back to normal after you quit smoking this is amazing. One of my family members stopped smoking and never smoked again.
I’ve quit smoking for a year and 3 months now. My last cigarette was in front of my house. I was smoking while it was hot as hell because it was during the summertime n I remember looking at my reflection on the window of my car and thinking, how disgusting I looked holding a cigarette and when I threw my pack away I remember going inside to play with my son and remembering thinking he doesn’t deserve to smell like cigarettes after I just got done smoking and how he doesn’t deserve to have me smell like cigarettes around him. That smell lingers for a couple hours and it’s probably one of the worst things u can do around a kid because kids pick up on habits that u do in front of them. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made for myself and my family. Before u even quit, don’t pick up on it and if you’re trying to quit, make sure your “why” is greater than anything u believe in. Good luck to u all.

You won’t succeed. I did that too to my dad when I was little. I myself have now smoked for about 7 years, the last 5, at least, quite heavily too. I know for a fact that only the person who smokes can stop it and no one else. This applies to drugs and other things as well, it’s all up to the user and the user alone. After all you can’t tell someone to stop loving someone either, it’s all in their own head and nobody else has control over it.
I Wish you succeed buddy....my dad just pass away 20 days ago because of lung cancer, I am also an ex smoker,I quit for almost 7 year now...it’s hard to stop it... just don’t give up,on your dad...do your best,to help him and encourage him....

I had been vaping for about 5 years, I started when I was 17. I ended up getting extremely addicted to the point where I was doing it from the moment my eyes opened, to the moment I fell asleep. I'd sleep with the vape in my hand, ready to go in case I woke up in the night. 2 weeks ago I decided to drop nicotine altogether, and wow. It's only been 14 days, and the physical benefit is already noticeable and tremendous.
I vape myself and I was wondering if quitting vaping would have the same effect. Thank you for your input. Looks like I need to quit vaping myself. Thank you! 🙂
For me the hardest part of quitting is kicking the habit, it has been my routine for the past 16 years and I’m only 29, I wake up have my tea and smoke my cigarette, I eat breakfast and have my cigarette, I leave the house and I light a cigarette while I walk, I go in the car and I light a cigarette, I’ll have lunch and smoke a cigarette and so on, the most difficult part is this, I do the same things but without the cigarettes, is like my body is expecting the cigarette after I eat, I don’t know how to explain it but it is truly like this, is like now I have lost my favourite past time, but I am trying so hard my oesophagus is irritated due to the smoke and I want to heal it
Ahmed Hamadi is the worst thing ever, every cigarette I light I think to myself God I need to stop, this will end up killing me, but I can’t stop what the hell, I think cigarettes are worst than heroin addictions, if you think about it ex alcoholics and ex drug addicts can cut the abuse but can never stop smoking 😩😩😩
I smoked for approx 47 to 48 years quit cold turkey 4 years ago in December. Actually dreamt I was having a cigarette 3 different time. Woke up in morning and swear to God I did have a smoke during the night incredible
Please never start if you haven't.
I totally agree!
I smoke and I regret it every single day... :-\
I smoke almost every day for 3 years and enjoy it very much, do not really care about the diseases after all everybody is going to die anyway
Dakath Ulatris But you'll suffer as you age so...
Hey that's what's up and inspiring
Damn i can relate to this so much. It feels like smoking is a part of your life and personality, but after quitting the feeling fades away.

Went cold turkey and managed to stop smoking. 10 years later I'm still here and able to tell the tale. There's always hope, stay strong and do your best.
Very good story king

One of the most important things I learned just before I quit smoking (40 years ago), was that aside from all the paradoxical effects of nicotine withdrawal (morning sleepiness, nighttime insomnia, mood swings, etc.), was this: *your cravings will arise about as often as you smoke, and will remain intense for only about 5 to 7 minutes, which is about as long as it takes to smoke a cigarette.*
So here’s the key to getting rid of the habit, once you’ve determined that you are DONE with it and want to stop forever: *As soon as the craving kicks in, get up and do something physical that requires your whole body to do, AND your focus- sweep a garage, shovel a dirt pile from one side of the yard to the other, then back- until the craving stops. As you do this, the cravings will become farther and farther apart, and less and less intense, until you no longer need cigarettes at all.*
You MUST NOT go drinking- stay out of pubs, and out of the cars and homes of people who smoke, for a month.
Handy not handsome thanks for your comment! I'm going to put it on my fridge to remind me!Have a great day! Love from Australia!🧡🦘🧡

Watching this makes me feel so bad about my dad. I wish he could quit :(
He can, he just doesn't want to.
I’ve quit smoking for a year and 3 months now. My last cigarette was in front of my house. I just quit smoking today. I had 3 cigarettes left. Smoked 2 and broke the last one into pieces. Hope I never smoke again.

I have been Cigarette free for 13 months and I feel great. I smoked for about 6 years and I successfully kicked the habit for good. I notice after a month my mouth was so cleaner and my teeth were cleaner. My family said my breath was a lot better. I did it by cold turkey, no vape, no gum. just will power
Cody Peters And then you'll notice you feels like, reborn
Melisa Atay cold turkey mean straight up quitting no AIDS no gum no patch no nothing just quit
i am on my third day of cold turkey, and it kills me, i want to smoke like, when u eat something very salty and u need to drink water, how long it last....
Cody Peters any other good effects? I need all the motivation I can get.
please help yourself, read this: docs.google.com/file/d/0B3ugFPnbtHHnQ2w0SlZmSU5kQU0/edit?pli=1
i hope it helps, it worked on me (1&half year non smoker)
I had been vaping for about 5 years, I started when I was 17. I ended up getting extremely addicted to the point where I was doing it from the moment my eyes opened, to the moment I fell asleep. I'd sleep with the vape in my hand, ready to go in case I woke up in the night. 2 weeks ago I decided to drop nicotine altogether, and wow. It's only been 14 days, and the physical benefit is already noticeable and tremendous.
I vape myself and I was wondering if quitting vaping would have the same effect. Thank you for your input. Looks like I need to quit vaping myself. Thank you! 🙂

@@SPILLROFGRAMS bro I got bronchial irritation and shit had me feeling like I was having a heart atttack
For me the hardest part of quitting is kicking the habit, it has been my routine for the past 16 years and I’m only 29, I wake up have my tea and smoke my cigarette, I eat breakfast and have my cigarette, I leave the house and I light a cigarette while I walk, I go in the car and I light a cigarette, I’ll have lunch and smoke a cigarette and so on, the most difficult part is this, I do the same things but without the cigarettes, is like my body is expecting the cigarette after I eat, I don’t know how to explain it but it is truly like this, is like now I have lost my favourite past time, but I am trying so hard my oesophagus is irritated due to the smoke and I want to heal it
Werewolffy I wish you luck with quitting
u r not alone with this routine
Thanasi Kambanis thank you 🙏🏽
Ahmed Hamadi is the worst thing ever, every cigarette I light I think to myself God I need to stop, this will end up killing me, but I can’t stop what the hell, I think cigarettes are worst than heroin addictions, if you think about it ex alcoholics and ex drug addicts can cut the abuse but can never stop smoking 😩😩😩
so whats happen do u stop smoking ?
I smoked for approx 47 to 48 years quit cold turkey 4 years ago in December. Actually dreamt I was having a cigarette 3 different time. Woke up in morning and swear to God I did have a smoke during the night incredible
