If you’re a complete noob like I am who bought their first trailer and then bought the furrion just for easy install then don’t forget that these are powered by running lights! (maybe different for other trailers) I installed it and thought some fuse or something needed upgrading because it wouldn’t turn on. Disappointed but then dealer told me it’s powered by running lights. Sigh. I don’t think instructions to install even say anything about running lights needing to be on
You aren't alone. It can be pretty frustrating to figure out why you aren't getting a connection only to realize that you have to turn on your lights. The automatic light setting won't power on the camera.
Thanks for the question. For me, the 4.3" screen is sufficient. We attach it to the windshield, just above the dash. While a larger screen might be nice, my concern would be around ensuring clear visibility of the road ahead. However, if you have a different place to locate it, the larger screen might work well for you. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the question. Sorry for the delayed response and I wish I had a better answer for you. We had the audio on during the road portion of our testing and could definitely hear traffic noise clearly. In fact, I turned the volume down to the lowest setting so we could just hear traffic to alert us to anything interesting approaching - like the fast moving motorcycle in the video. Unfortunately, we realized that we did not sufficiently test audio while backing into a campsite. We'll have to do some additional tests in the 2024 camping season.
@@traveltrailsail thanks for the reply. I purchased a 2021 Rockwood 2511s last week. It has the Furrion camera already installed. I’ve never towed anything let alone a travel trailer. I know the camera isn’t a magic wand but I use backup cameras in all my vehicles so I want to use the Furrion as an aide for my back in adventures. My wife will be the biggest aide. 🤣

Do you like the 4.3” screen or ever wish you had gotten the 7” I’m young and have good eyesight but don’t want to have buyers remorse.
