Last year, one of these call centers called my mom. My mom is in her mid 60’s, but is slowly showing signs of dementia. Long story short, I ended up calling the banks for her. I hate scammers and I’m glad you’re putting up content like this.
If you're British and your mother is showing signs signs of dementia, I strongly urge you, if you haven't done it already, to attain Power of Attorney. I left it too late, when Mom entered the stage of paranoia and thought I was stealing her money. What a complicated mess followed afterwards. Just saying. Robert, UK.
This happened to my 80 yr old grandpa he thought he had a virus and paid “microsoft” $1,500 for full access of his computer to get rid of the “virus” they got all his bank info but my uncle was there and called my gma and she turned off the internet and unplugged the computer the scammer called PISSED 😭😭
@@2eleven48 To add on to that, if you are in the US you want to get that before it gets too bad (if it does). Gist is only someone who is mentally competent can sign over power-of-attorney. At the point where you really need it, they can't sign for it anymore. There are also different kinds of powers-of-attorney and some have limited effect/duration. We got into the that boat with my dad. In order to keep him getting the help he needed, they needed to evaluate him and, due to Alzheimer's, declare him incompetent. We had to rush to get some power of attorney paperwork signed *before* that evaluation or else the papers would no longer be valid (if anyone contested them).
just to clarify for some people not all call centre's are to scam people, most of them are to promote a product or for charity donations. I've worked at a call center for promoting products to people and if they say no then it's a no, we are not allowed to push it any further and recently I joined call center for cancer patient treatment charity so I have to call people and let ask if their interested in giving even the smallest donation for the cause. so in short the misconception of all call centre's being full of scamers is wrong :)

so glad there is people like you showing scammers how it feels to get screwed. so many people, even poor people get screwed by this crap all the time and the scammer literally don't care if it destroys their lives by doing it... quite pathetic that they do that. some lowly people...
I got the “we are going to shut your electricity off” scam call last week- I ran them around as long as I could and finally told her I know it was a scam- then asked her why she does it- she actually talked to me for a few minutes and said “someone has to” “if you fall for it, it’s your fault” and”it’s not like I’m killing anyone” Very defiant and proud. I told her I was sorry her life was so bad that her instinct was to screw over other people- that got her to hang up.
It pisses me off when people try to justify their shitty behavior by blaming victims. I bet it someone broke into her place and tried to rob her she wouldn't be so quick to say it was her fault for not having enough locks.

@Sounds Channel. Obviously you don’t understand how international law works. It also sounds as if you take exception to the fantastic work done by scambaiters who EXPOSE these pogs, and why would you take exception to that - unless you’re one of them?
@Pandu Kamat. That’s why so many Indians hate your guts and they dime you out and turn you in to the authorities at every opportunity. You can justify your robbing and scamming all you want but the United States Justice Department just keeps adding more and more and more names to the list growing longer and longer of names of scammers. And the US Justice Department - not to mention India’s own government! - doesn’t even begin to address the bad karma you continue to accrue by scamming people and stealing their money. Face it, bro - you scammers are a laughingstock and everyone gets a kick out of watching scammers look so fucking foolish. Enjoy the scamming while you can because more and more of you are going to jail every day!
Or expose them in international media such as BBC, just like what Jim Browning did. Jim Browning collaborated with BBC and did documentation, exposing a scamming center. I hope other UA-camr-Hackers do the same.
It really pains me to say this but I do not conduct any business matters on the phone with anyone with an Indian accent. It's not a racist stereotype. I've been contacted several times by scammers trying to get my SS number, telling me they're going to seize my assets, telling me that my credit cards have been compromised so they need to verify the number, etc. It's a huge problem. The last one just called me yesterday. I told him his mother should be ashamed that she has a thief as a son! Hope that struck a nerve at least.
I am from India, and you are doing a great job brother. These guys should get what they deserve. Actually these types of guys are ruining India. So sad
I actually don’t understand how you can do this to people all day every day and live with yourself??? I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night, this is proper evil shit
I doubt it. Theyre "job" is to get money for their boss to which they'd likely get a percentage depending how much they got from scamming. Example they may get $500 for every $2000 or something. 🤷♀️ They don't really care about being hacked themselves. They'll just shut down the computer and move on to the next poor victim.
IDEA: u should have a file that says the word “nudes”, and when they inevitably open it, it should just have a bunch of pictures of the scammer’s face. That’ll really freak them out

@@dreamcoyote ....thank you for replying and giving an illuminating US slant on power of attorney (I wasn't sure if you had the same thing). Hope you and family are well and safe. Robert, UK.

so glad there is people like you showing scammers how it feels to get screwed. so many people, even poor people get screwed by this crap all the time and the scammer literally don't care if it destroys their lives by doing it... quite pathetic that they do that. some lowly people...
I got the “we are going to shut your electricity off” scam call last week- I ran them around as long as I could and finally told her I know it was a scam- then asked her why she does it- she actually talked to me for a few minutes and said “someone has to” “if you fall for it, it’s your fault” and”it’s not like I’m killing anyone”
Very defiant and proud.
