Hello! I'm a Thai person and I'm proud to see our culture being appreciated! In Thailand we usually will add fish sauce or fermented fish and dried shrimp.
terasai alias belacan from JAVA for our millenia old bussies in Siam. There is a salad-chilli-fishy dish in Java- called rujak- but we don't have green papapya- BUT we have a papaya flower dish- bunga papaya (with fish and chilli and lime) which is quite bitter it is Manado (Sulawesi Island) dish. Stupid Malaysians (no culture) call it "rojak" (vowel u shifts to o as you go north from real Melayu (Sumatra on Jambi river)). Nyamuk becomes nyamok, amuk, amok etc. PS Malaysians are behind all the terrorism- proof- Abu Bakir Bashir ran to Malaysia when chased by Suharto and Indonesia has still many buddhists
Awesome salad recipe I made it for the time today I had to use green chili instead of the bird eye chili since it was not available. But yummy everyone liked it I made it today 23/11/22. Stay blessed
If original Thai papaya salad we use only fish sauce, bird eye chilly, jaggery palm sugar, lime juice ,and some area we put picked fish ,peanut , we are not boil the long bean we eat fresh same the green papaya and carrot
@@haruthaichanokdechpae2031 It is mentioned in the title of the video. I eat chicken but not a fan of seafood or any other meat. I can't stand the smell of fish sauce. So I don't add it to my salad.

A-ya-yai, where is fish sauce, where is dried shrip, where is tamarind? What does vinegar doing in this dish? Or at least show the more ways to julienne veggies, not with this torture device, which even in your video performs so horrible. And explain for how long ( like 15 minutes) and why do we need to keep veggies in iced water.
Hi, Elvira! Hope you’re having a good day! Well, vinegar adds a nice tangy or sour zing to the dressing and Ice bath helps in making the veggies nice and crunchy! Hope this helps.🙂❤️
@@rajshrifoodthank you, however, my questions were more rhetorical. I live in india and can easily find all necessary ingredients to make authentic Thai salads without substitution of lime juice for vinegar, or missing tamarind- such an important ingredient in Thai cuisine. Should you have called video "Thai inspired " - I wouldn't make any remarks.

Mere pass bhi hai yeh knife, that’s what my mom said.
You should say "Papaya salad" or just remove basil from your recipe if you want to put "Thai".
Is papaya not bitter
No
You forget the main ingredient which taste amazing is peanut
No fish sauce.. No shrimp paste.. No Thai salad.. 😅 That's Indian salad. 😁
