What Do Adjustable Ribs Do?

- We take a Caesar Guerini Summit Impact out to the field, to see what difference adjusting the rib makes. In theory it is like adjusting the ‘zero’ of the gun...
The answer - quite a lot! The ability to change the pattern from 50:50 to 90:10 with the turn of an Allen key is quite exciting (if you need it).
Great videos. Brief, to the point and packed with valuable information. Thank you for producing these.
That was impressive. Makes a huge difference.
Excellent demonstration and explanation . I can’t afford a Caesar Geurini at present but I have been looking at Fabarm RS12’s . The clay ground I shoot at doesn’t have a pattern board stand . I’ll have to get on to that . Thanks
This is a pretty interesting test. It's always good to have options by having adjustable parts. I hope you do a review of the Caesar Guerini Summit Impact that you're shooting with.
been shooting shotguns most of my life and this is the best example of how a high rib is meant to be used. Most never learn the basics at all.
Please use a black marker not a pen on next video. Great info
Top cartridge catcher!
Good video with good advice.
Good video , great looking gun .
Mental Araldite is solid man !
Hey John i want to ask you about Baikal sxs shotguns .Are they worth of buying as cheap and good shotguns or not ean the new models of course
Just an idea here Im not sure what you'll think about it.
When you do the next Cheap to Charming, could you do it to a Baikal Over/Under? Always wanted to see how far one of those guns could be pushed.
I'd like to see that as well. Where I live, I've never seen a Baikal shotgun ever. It would be nice to see if there's an alternative to the cheap Turkish shotguns that I always see for the low-end of the market.
they don't seem to want to review a Baikal.....
The Lethargic Ponderer With the Arms Embargo getting new ones is rather difficult!
@@tgsoutdoors does the arms embargo cover second hand Baikal products?
The Lethargic Ponderer of course not. Just need one in nice enough order to review.
Everyone uses a pen to show pattern test and no one can see it in the videos ... use a big fat Sharpie marker next time.
Pretty much, unless you're Holland & Holland. They shoot at thin sheets of metal and use this giant compass to etch the circle into the metal because they have the money to do that. Fancy!
Took the sharpie, lost it in the grass before we started!
@@tgsoutdoors Yes, grass can make you misplace things!
Jon, why do almost all SXS doubles have raising (not raised) ribs?
Hahahaha.. Araldite footnote was funny.
You should use two piece of cardboard to truly get an accurate pattern.
Has anyone ever wondered if you could just do the exact same thing but with a slug? It would be a lot less to look at that's for sure
John, I know this is an old vid, but which would you set up first the comb or the rib ?
Comb and fit first then tune the rib to the right poi for you
So is the best way to set the rib in the middle first before you adjust the comb?
