I have to say I made the leap as discussed before from the browning prosport to the invictus ascent and I love it and my scores are improving the more I get used to shooting it 👍

Even on a flat rib you she see plenty of rib when mounted to allow your head to be in a more upright position, 9times out of 10 it’s gun fit and not rib height related. Great vid again 👍🏻

For myself it’s about being in a head up position without seeing a lot of rib which isn’t doable with a flat rib unless you mount the gun uncomfortably high in the shoulder

Beretta A400 MultiTarget, adjustable rib and Monte Carlo stock allow you to dial in the sight picture you want to shoot and benefit from the high rib clear view of the clay. I do love the CG ascent option.

I keep looking out for one of the A400 to try

@@roymartingunsmiths814 Once you adjust it to your shooting picture style, its sublime, utterly reliable.
Just one thing that bugs most... the Clang.... you'll notice it if you get one :)

Great video Roy. I am picking up my new XL Evo Lux with 31" Step Rib barrels this weekend and cannot wait to get smashing some clays. Keep up the great content.

Probably one of my dream guns at the moment is a DT11 step rib with 31 in barrels. Not a fan of the acs or x trap, but would still have one. Love the head up and look around the rib shooting.

The only reason that I have not purchased a DT11. I have been leaning towards the Zoli MR and the CG Ascent.

I have two perazzis I shoot a full flat rib mx8 but a step up from the factory 1980s mx3 special and with my neck pain I makes a complete world of difference

All my semi autos have them and I find it really hard to now shoot my new Ceasar Guerini invictus mspec it’s more a sight picture thing also my benelli has a monticarlo stock which I find helps my gun fit needs

What were the practical differences that made it take a couple of months to get used too? Does the higher rib mean you’re aiming lower than before? Thanks

Is there not an attachment that would fit on an existing rib? Or would that alter the balance of the shotgun.

The only people i have ever seen that actually need a step up rib are those who need a monte carlo, the step up suits a long neck and narrow frame, i myself don't like a step up, gets in the way of targets lower than muzzle

694 berretta acs or a step rib

Your Head position is exactly the same. Your hands are just lower....

    • @roymartingunsmiths814
      @roymartingunsmiths814  2 місяці тому +2

If the centre of the pad is placed in the middle of the shoulder the same as any gun the head is higher due to the Monte Carlo stock being higher than a standard stock. If you place the stock lower in the shoulder then yes your hands are lower but that defeats the objective of the gun

That’s a ramped rib not a true step rib 👍

It can also be called a mid rib or a high rib, there is a lot of terminology that can be used to describe that rib configuration

@@roymartingunsmiths814 Not from what I've seen. Stepped rib has a drastic/sudden "step up" to the rib's max height. A ramped rib, is just that: a ramp. An even, consistent upward slope from the receiver to the rib at full height. It's not just different terminology for the same thing. I have both. My Zoli MR is stepped and my Kolar Max Lite is ramped. Both are mid ribs.
