Ruto's presidency does not show that anyone can become a president because of these factors: 1) He has been in all governments since Mo(dynastic), 2) He is Kalenjin (political dominance - one of 2 tribes that produced all Kenyan presidents), He is a multi-billionaire.

Ruto has been in almost all the governments, so it doesn't make him a new comer, and that doesn't make him different from the dynasties, coz he's also a kalenjin and they we're in power for 24 yrs, it would have made sense if he was to be someone from one of the magnalized communities, I think Ekuru is happy on how his brilliant choice has negatively affecting poor Kenyans.

Ruto is not going anywhere whether we complain, demonstrate or take away our support unless the IEBC and the Supreme Court miraculously refuse bribery. Ruto said that in 2027, even the opposition agents during elections will not exist and he is already laying the foundation for that as we speak. That is why whether we complain about him removing the taxes for his helicopters spare parts, and taxing us to the maximum doesn't give him sleepless nights.
Daktari has given an academic argument which makes sense. What he is forgetting is that elections in Kenya can never be audited, and our last experience tells us that IEBC is the one that determines who becomes the President. The electoral systems exist, but don't help us if they can be interfered with, and not opened for auditing. What happens in the IEBC boardroom determines what will be verified and declared. How deep your pockets are to handle the Supreme Court judgement, will not only uphold the IEBC declaration, but give you colorful words like "hot air".

Raila is actually the outsider to the dynastic nature of Kenyan politics. His only undoing was being propped by the so called dynasties in the last elections. He would have broken the two-tribes dominance and at the same time demonstrated consistency and meritocracy pays in the end. He's been on the side of the poor way before 1992. Look at the way he avoided openly bribing voters like Ruto did (it worked against him), chosing a relatively "clean" running mate etc. Ruto is a good student of what Kenyan voters reward esp around central Kenya. He observed how easily Sonko and his ilk swept themselves to power. Upcoming politicians are watching and it may get worse.

Ekuru Aukot is right on one thing and I'm happy he is saying something I have been saying all my 90 years.
How could Jomo Kenyatta be a freedom fighter when at the height of that fight he was busy marrying a british woman?
But he is wrong about the dynasty narrative.
Dynasty doesn't mean that you have to be of noble birth. If that were so, who then birthed the first King? and to make it worse, the Real King of England is languishing in Australia. By that token, Mudavadi is Dynasty. Ruto is dynasty and George Khaniri is dynasty.
The only problem I have with Auko is his flip flopping. The an is the type that wants to be the most intelligent in every room and if the room fails to recognize him, he spews bile.

Uhuru was young and inagressive being Moi's choice so even after he was traused, he went mum. Moi himself valued the nation beyond personal interest. Moreover, he went silent to give his successor time and space to work. That was support enough. Raila was on check now that he was the king maker and for that matter, no one could spark violence.

If WSR is a "surrogate" of those former regime, then you also confirm that no one out of the woods can come with good ideas and just become president...noh! You must have been "passed" under the "grace" stool for you to get there...which is essentially a "dynastic" approach to be exact. Let us not take "dynasty" to be the families of the founding fathers and their influential ministers of back in the day. A "dynasty" in this current context is having strong ties to former overlords, which qualifies WSR as one of them, just rebranded with no forerunner in his family to make him appear as a "dynasty" in the flawed sense we seem to be talking about it.

    3. He overlooked to care for the protection of the constitution to manage reforms.
