Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future. Putting our time and effort in activities and investments that will yield a profitable return in the future is what we should be aiming for. Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. "You're not going to remember those expensive shoes you bought ten years ago, but you will remember every single morning when you look at your bank account that extra 0 in there. I promise, that's going to be way more fun to look at everyday", I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life
You're absolutely right, to be a successful in life required not only hard work but awareness and sometime opportunity at the moment, investment remains the best way to start.
@@alonsohernandez-nb5xqI agree with you. Investment is the key to sustaining your financial longevity. And not just any investment but an investment with guaranteed return.
yeah investment is the key to sustaining your financial longevity but venturing into any legit investment or business without a proper guidance of an expert can lead to great loss too.
@@donalderic-zx5jnExactly and many of us don't know where to invest our money so we invest it on wrong place and to the wrong people
@@shawjose-uc9xnObviously talking about been successful, I know I am blessed if not I wouldn't have met someone who is as spectacular as Debra Barton
Dr. McFie is spot on. I am so privileged to have been taught by him at Strathmore University School of Accountancy.
Eiiii,, congrats
Fantastic guy. 💯
lucky you arent a chicken !!!!
Eric Latif, bring this man back again and again. He has an international insight, but from a very Kenyan perspective.
This man is a gem for this country! Saying it as it is, with no political undertone, whatsoever!
I love it! Eric says ati Gachagua doesn't know everything and Mcfie says, "He doesn't know anything"😂😂
Yes true the Snswer Dr ancrdble.nothing about Economie said hhh
The whole KK brigade know nothong.
Haha I don't remember hearing it but that's hilarious
There is no way we can deny, having listened to Dr. McFie, Jimmy Wanjigi and Okiya Omtata that we have a problem and it's not limited to current government. If we still don't understand the gravity of our situation, we need doctors urgently.
Some of us were taken in by the president's campaign rallying call, HATUPANGWINGWI, and mistook it to mean that he is made of a better mettle and wasn't going to succumb to puppeteering from any quarters, not even the WEF, to which his predecessor (together with his handshake brother) danced themselves silly. What we're seeing now, to our utter disbelief, is the president dancing to the tune of this club of criminal eugenist not only in this country but on the international scene. They're literally taking Kenya (and many other countries) down the same path they took Sri Lanka.
@@kw_akafarmer4058 WEF is NOT and has NEVER been our problem. The biggest problem is that of stealing. Pure and simple. Can you imagine all the foreign companies wanting to do business in Kenya being forced to go elsewhere due to bribery demands? The prof here mentioned Qatar Airways, Unilever etc. The guy who took you in was known to be a thief even before the previous regime (of which he was part and parcel of). But you guys ignored that and still elected him.
So an interesting conversation about the corruption and democracy. This topic needs more time for him to explain. More coz this is where most of our problems are generating from.

@@harrisonmurbi8145 listen to the club's (The WEF) chairman Klaus Schwab and it's default spokesperson, Yuval Noah Harari to appreciate how dark and sinister the club's agenda for the world is. It matters little the grandiosity of the investment members of this club set up in this country when their real plan is to enslave us. They've told us in no uncertain terms that 'We will own nothing and be happy'. And you may not know it, but it is this club and it's outcrops, the mega mining, agricultural, industrial, financial, media etc., etc., corporations and non-profits or NGOs owned and run by it's members, that are raining havoc on the world economy today. The fronts on which they're waging war on us are too many to list here but food, energy, medicine, education and cultural (read LGBTQr ) are a few. Do your own research, see independent media.
Just realized how no one is interrupting him. Good insights from Dr. McFie.
I never saw a man who is unbaised like dr mcfie...what a gentleman....he is pointing everyone who is messing around the world equally kudoz SIR!!!!
This guy should be having a big seat in the economics panel.Brilliant
Give that man 3 hrs. He’s got lots to share.
wata wa strathmore economics tuambieni class zake ziko lini twende bana
Is not truth
SpiceFM team, Kindly bring this man back again and again. He has an international insight but from a very Kenyan perspective & Global South at large.
Dr McFie... My lecturer back in Strath... I dont recall much of what he taught me (accounting wasnt my thing in campus) but i'll never forget a one liner he hit us with... "The problem isn't that you don't know but that you don't know that you don't know" 😂😂
He taught me about mergers and acquisitions very well. He made sure everyone understood what he taught and his students passed in masses. His dedication was at another level.
@@mimim4045interesting topic
Dr. Jim Mcfie needs at least 2 hrs. He can educate most Kenyans in a simple economic language.
Someone once said, "I can explain it to you, but,I can not understand it for you."
One of the best shows this year🎉
Wow! If you've had cross interaction with Dr. McFie and you life still remain the same you need to see a real doctor....he is pack of wisdom, intelligence, logic, charisma, openness, articulance and truthfulness...Kenyans need him more.. please bring him again&again.I have learnt a lot in just one session.
Dr Jim McFie.. always a pleasure to listen to you and learn from you, always telling things as they are, in plain black and white.
Very clever economist...we need such people like Dr. McFie and Kwame Owino in the highest position in Kenya
how now?
They will kill him
I love this talk. Dr. McFie has given the analysis of economic problems we have in Kenya. Political decisions rather than professional decisions is our problem.
This man is a fount of wisdom. Thanks for this lively and enlightening interview.
Mcfie the legend, taught me Finamcal Accountng at Strathmore .Ever green.
Thanks McFie. This is the most objective analysis of our economy I have listened to of late.
When I listen to this guy breaking down our economic problems in bits, I am both happy and sad. Happy because there are many educated Kenyans with the same level of knowledge & sad because they will never get the jobs to apply their knowledge & improve our economy. The electorate lacks understanding of who the right leaders are and therefore we end up with policymakers who do not know exactly what to do!
This is by design of the political elites.
That's what is happening on the entire continent of Africa. It is sad.
McFie taught me Financial Accounting 1, long live McFie
The biggest problem we have in this country is that we view positions of power as avenues for enrichment...
This is so true. Looting looting looting in the name of "doing business with the government".
Looting by individuals in the Government, tribalism, greed, and hatred. The stomach is small, but government officials are greedy, and anyone truthful is removed from their position.
Dr. Mcfie talked about families without a father but the lady reporter didn't realise what role that plays in the poverty of a country!!!! It is these small things that matter first and foremost. Stability
My Mwalimu dispelling his wisdom as always....viva Strath.
Stealing is the best word, stupid people call it corruption.
Dr Jim McFie, the legend 🙌🏾
I love his intellect, He's talking sense.
Our "leaders" in Kenya are not leaders. They are people in positions of leadership
Very few leaders in the world today, most are puppets who implement global elites' orders, and Kenya is definitely one of those.
An extremely intelligent and focused gentleman. Dr Mcfie taught me group accounts in the 90s at Strathmore College then. We'd always joke that if one couldn't understand group accounts taught by him then you're unteachable.😂😂
Kenya is broken in so many ways and i don't even know where one would start in terms of fixing it
It starts with politics..the day we start rejecting corrupt leaders we'll start moving in the right direction fast. Tribalism itself is corruption
Same as NIGERIA.
Pro,Dr mc fie is 💯 legit on point. I love how his breaking down every problem and giving an immediate solution. Where is ruto's government to take notes?🤔🤔🤔
Profound wisdom. Unfortunately money ruined the creator side in us. Only the creature side of our being is alive and ticking. Hence our preoccupation with only achieving creature comforts, at the expense of creatively solving thorny issues of the land.
Corruption has all along been our problem just like other countries. But different from the rest, we escalate instead of arresting it. Like now we have put at the helm of our economy the high priest of corruption and we still expect to fix the situation.
@@anastasiahmwangi8188 I really do concur with your point, owing to the impacts of this character's political fallacies rampant in day -day speeches.
I have gone from every office in Kenya, everyone is a con.Uhuru once stated the same.
And we believe the best way to fix it is put in more...
Jim Boyd Mcfie !! My accounts lecturer at Strathmore. Principal School of Accounts. Still, the same very foresighted observer that he always was. You should also ask him about Wanjigi's odious debt theory, the price of Unga, the Effect of Maandamano, practicality of housing levy, Effect of the Finance bill. He would give valuable insight into those as his area of specialization. And without those political biases.
True.
Him(Mfie), Jimmy Wanjigi, Omtata,
Great guests at the situation room!
Thank you very much,
The standard media group!
Latif.. Can this conversation continue! pls.. Invite the Dr back for more insights..
I respect Dr McFie very much and I hope he helps Kenya reform its economy. I love Kenya and the Kenyan people.
Finally,.... someone who gets it.
Stealing is the main problem here.
British Brainwashing Cooperation: this man is just so direct!
BBC😂😂😂
how mind-opening
this mzee has brought. thank you so much
Three people that need to be at the top of leadership, jimmy wanjigi, omtata and Dr. mcfie then the dream of Kenya will be fulfilled
Don't be deceived by jimmy wanjigi sweet tongue n talk. Hes one of the problems.. Watu wa ma-deals na kaf-ment
Wanjigi hell to the no. He is using the debt topic as a bargaining chip to get deals from above to keep quiet however true the info he presents
Wanjigi is exposing the problem because he was cut off. That guy is a joker, wachana naye huyo. Omtata and Mcfie are sincere
Wanjigi is a joke. What has he ever built that is worthy of mention? He's just a high level broker of big-ticket tenders. He then used part of his loot to fund politicians. He only started talking when he was cut out.
The politician that he mentions demanding 20% is exactly what Wanjigi did to get wealthy.
I agree with you 💯
Very true kenya should not mess the tea market or coffee market.
Your advice is a little late
Kudos..you are truly the biggest conversation ❤
Please give this man enough time.
41mins 27secs just ended like that?!!! I need more of these..
We need a part 2 with Dr McFie . ❤
We want that gentleman back again and again!!
Imagine someone speaking the truth as such, and some people are just ignorant of the real situation,Things are very tough and we will have to speak out.
I can listen to this again and again. Intelligent talk
I have a small company in Kenya but moving it to Tanzania.
I want McFie back ASAP
Dr.McFie lecturing is amazing.
Proud of you my lecturer!!!
You are the best
He taught me advanced audit..very articulate 😊
When Jim said Kenyan men should become men, not bloody chickens, pinched some strings.
As a former student of McFie, it was good to listen to him going off on his tangents.
My Finance and accounting lecturer at Strathmore many years ago
I'd looove to hear more and more from him. He has alot of wisdom and true facts without favor or bias. Bring him for a longer session
Jimmy Mcfie is a top notch economist and accountant. When he talks, listen!
Very intelligent man.
The best dissection of the Kenyan situation
Great mind! Great man!
My teacher, mentor . A great man.
Mumias, Portland, Kmc, and we can go on and on.
Spot on. Truth
Doc is goodfella , really enjoyed ! Thanks
Dr should be finance minister in Kenya!
Brutality honest! He even mentioned his former student who was among those who destroyed Mumias.
Kenya needs to change the law so that economic sabotage which includes stealing from public, destroying public property should be court-martialed at military courts because it is a crime against Kenya. Maybe it will make sense in us.
Cant happen...the courts just said life imprisonment is unconstitutional. No deterrence whatsoever!
@@iamsyourdadi yes because our courts are foolish, they are trying to run a third world country like a first world...We have bad culture, our governance etiquette is zero....we still from relatives, friends, government...we can not resolve our issues amicably.....reason we have maandamano that is distractive....Kenya wasn't ready for the constitution that we gave ourselves....
@@kennedybutiko7651 You've spoken well. Nothing but facts. what is the remedy you think?
Kidero.
Bloody waste of time. This people steal the money and then swan around in our midst as the daft people swoon over them. Putting them on trial is a bloody waste of time and money, they should be summarily dismissed to hades; if you catch my drift.
Paying bribes and some people asking for bribes is destructive to the economic situation, of a country.
Zakayo said that fighting corruption isn't a priority. I don't see any changes in the next twenty years
However, he's right about democracy in our setting. Representative democracy in Africa has to ask this question first, how does the average person want to be led. Then we can create a system from there. The writers of our constitution meant well, but once that constitution met Kenya, the only outcome was going to be, we'll find a way round it.
nah, they just copy pasted american one, silly fellows.
Dr Jim..
YES
That's FCPA Dr. Jim for you. The best we have - we need local solutions to our local problems.
40 minutes is not enough for this man
Spot on.
Absolutely edifying, honest conversation. We need to look inward at our morality - why have we condoned stealing in our country
Wonderful and Brilliant Conversation though at a glimpse, Kindly invite him more and More Dr McFie is such a guru and well versed on matters Economy and understands very deeply about Kenya's trajectory
Great insights from outright intellects.
Spectacular ❤
👌👌👌He Is right our biggest nightmare is ( Greed and corruption) that will never change until we see corrupt government Officers getting arrested and imprisoned.
@Dr.Macfie I am listening now...
BRING MCFIE BACK AGAIN. PREFERABLY NEXT WEEK. WE'D LIKE TO ASK HIM SOME QUESTIONS TOO !!!
This guy is right. Too much democracy in Kenya
Stealing is an addiction & we know the impotence of trying to avoid the issue.
Great conversation n eye opening.
The ripple effect......I love this.......Let leaders understand the effect of their actions
ive learnt alot today
I like this guy, Let him do what he wanna do with Ndu.
😂
I do watch Dr Mcfee on Sokoni on ktn news, we need more time for this brilliant mind
Very insightful.
The government is a representation of the people and that's one of the ideas that go over most Kenyans heads. Corruption, theft and all ill and selfish acts are happening from the top office right to our homes. Merchants selling fake products, overpricing, littering the streets, destroying a working marriage etc.. all the minor issues contribute to the major issues. Leaders and office holders are the product of our society, they don't fall from the sky. People won't hesitate to orchestrate "deals"- contracts through the backdoor- but in public will claim how the government is doing not so good. We are a country WITH NO MORALS and we continue to cut ourselves off at the knees. A self-sabotaging nation.
KE needs a revolution at this stage. There's no hope
Great conversation!
Dr.McFie, thank you for having trusted in this village boy who had never seen a computer in his life, yet you gave him an internship on his first semester.
From South Africa, Scotland, Kenya, teachers at university.
Thought provoking conversation
What a conversation!
Respect!! Wisdom at its best
This is awesome
