Mike, even though he may not enjoy the title, is a punk rock legend to us Orange County kids. I'm glad he's still here and rocking. He branched out and really is a versatile musician. My first punk gig was Social Distortion in 1982 at the T-Bird roller rink. I had found my tribe!

But here's my biggest takeaway: Mike talking about classic-rock listening jocks in '79, '80 "focusing on the different" and not being able to deal, even though punk actually built on the roots of rock 'n' roll. Well Mike, that working class farmer, who listens to punk rock, was rebelling against your politics at your show, those are traits I relate to you. But you focused on the difference, he's on the "wrong team", and it became ugly.
