As far as I'm concerned Steve jones is sound as a pound... I like the way he was adventurous in his life and thought outside the box... He's reassuringly honest and guinely humble and has a great sense of humour. It's really refreshing to listen to him. Cheers Steve
It’s great to hear the guys that shaped my teenage musical interests so long ago. They are only a couple of years older, but that seemed a lot back then when we were in school and they were releasing albums and shaking the music scene up.
Steve and the rest of the boys have kept their dignity - unlike Rotten, who gets progressively more pathetic and egocentric with every passing year. And he was bad enough even back in the day, a major reason the Pistols fell out in '78 was because of Rotten's prima donna attitude.
I was lucky enough to see the Buzzcocks on Long Island maybe 10 years ago(im terrible with time lines). One of the best shows ive seen and ive seen many.Diggle was killing it.The crowd was really into it.Autonomy was a highlight
Steve Diggle sounds hilarious! You just know you'd be in for a treat going on the p##s with him. I've heard him in a few interviews before, and he's very entertaining. Fantastic stuff.
1980 I went to a party and ended up sleeping in high gate cemetery next to Marx's tomb, long story how it happened, seen Buzzcocks with and without Howard both versions were good,
Awesome .... love me some Larry Wallis , Vampires Stealing My Food anytime ... Rollins Band Did Done It mighty fine as well ... the English were very lucky , blessed with the best music had to offer , by far !!
God bless the pair of you , love it! Speaking as an engineer, that even worked with Mr Rushent once or twice, the Eventide H910 was digital amazingly enough even though it goes back to the mid 70s. That and the AMS RMX16 - great favourite of Rushent and Hannett and everyone else - were the first big hitters of the digital FX revolution. That detuned double track effect defines that late70s period for me and I always love hearing it. The lovely MXR flanger/doubler that you mentioned also is analogue though. Anyway, love these shows cheers
@@daevidharvey7113 Weird to hear them talk about tripping and watching Gong. I knew Steve Jones hated Gong. But I went from listening to the Pistols to PIL to Planet Gong and New York Gong. to Gong in a big way..I wonder who the drummer who was tripping. The first Moroccan drummer Rachid killed himself. Pip Pyle was there on Camembert Electrique who actually made Top of the Pops years later with Barbara Gaskin & Dave Stewart ' 'Its my Party'. & then came the virtuoso drummer Pierre Moerlen. Loved Gong. Daevid Allen & Steve Hillage. 🍄🎸🎧☠️
You mean the guy who actually says in the video he has played bass with the buzzcocks for 9 years, and was in a band in the mid 90's, called the Weekenders that Diggle produced, is it that guy with the sunglasses who never says a word you are talking about?
That would be great but will never happen. Lydon seemed like he made a real effort with Steve when he was on jukebox but Steve said before lydon makes him uncomfortable. Both a couple of closets, great guys tho.
Funny ... actually those Yamaha Guitars the SG3000 ? that John McGeogh played are fantastic and very much comparable to a Les Paul big time & very cool looking as well ... seems John was way ahead of his time . Fuck Link Wray played a Yamaha as well at times so screw 'em all !! haha ... I do prefer the king classics myself but there are most definitely exceptions to the rool of cool
john played the sg1000 . just some useless info. there's the 2000, and the 3000 if you are into the abalone trim and all of that pretty stuff. they also made less expensive models starting with the 200, 500 and so on. the 1000 was a nice one and the 2000 has a brass sustain block under the rear bridge. woop woop. the santana guitar way back in the day. it was a morphed from earlier models with the same basic design and shape but different model. theres hundreds of nice guitars out there. just play what feels good and you can afford. many great guitarist started on pieces of junk guitars. it's all in the fingers. class over.

Steve Diggle and Jones are both class acts, love the humour.
Steve Diggle, a National Treasure as far as i'm concerned. Buzzcocks are fantastic live.
Yes, they are not to be missed.
Buzzcocks what a great band .Prince of Wales sounds the place to have a beer up the smoke .
Buzzcocks! :0)

And you wouldn't expect anything less seems like a real down to earth guy

Buzzcocks best band from Manchester
Er... No. Still it's just an opinion so means nothing
A lot of competition there.
Two Steve's. Two legends.
Halfway in m8 and like true crims they haven't mentioned the Anarchy tour yet, shhhh !! 😎🤗👍
The two Magazine tracks Steve name checked Shot By Both Sides, The Light Pours Out of Me ... both Pete Shelley tunes.....funnily enough...
Shelley, DeVoto and McGeoch tunes
Same melody hooks on Shot By Both Sides and Buzzcocks' Lipstick
These guys are so funny. Best guitarists of that era.
"im not going to the pub im gonna go to bed and wet it" fucking class
Could listen to the two Steves all fucking day long.
Interesting chat as usual. Could’ve gone on a bit longer, but this is a good length, as well.
I like a decent interview of at least 30 minutes
You Joker Steve manages to make them interesting, nonchalantly so, and interesting guests, too.
Met Steve Diggle in the Hacienda. Jolly bloke who likes a giggle
I thought Dave Lee Travis was banned from the radio.
lol
C'mon guys, Yammies are amazing!!! Feckin love these guys. Steve Diggle knows how to enjoy himself 😂
Diggle sounds like he would be fun to party with!
He is indeed!
Yep, I can second that 👍
Burp. “Awhat?” Classy
This is great
So much love for Steve Diggle. Funny, sexy, super nice, mad talent and a straight shooter. I adore him. (And Rest in Power, Pete. )

BUZZCOCKS!
Funny as fook! I wouldn't go to Borstal for a Yamaha! ( John Mcgeoch actually played a Guild) dx
No, he played a Yamaha SG
Actually he played various guitars from Yamaha, Guilds and even Ovations. Yamaha SGs were his usual guitar that most associated with John.
Alex Harvey !! ... why do they always play Faith Healer though ?!? ... so many fantastic songs to choose from yet ... !!!
Best track possibly especially the live version. Brilliant band and what an awesome front man?
'Give my compliments to the chef' by a country mile.
Tales of Two Steves. Punk Legends. I'm opening a Sagres for them - interesting concept.
Is there anyone more laid back than Steve Jones?
Jesus 🙏 ?😅
True Criminals ! No Comment on the Anarchy Tour, our loss 😮
u need toget johnny rotten glenn n cookie and do a pistols reunion episode talking bout everything from beginning till now

Jonesy was a bit of a bully to Steve. Too bad. I would have loved to have seen Pete Shelley interviewed by Jonesy.
How was he a bully? Sorry ridiculous statement
Bully? Diggle never shut up and it probably got on Steve's nerves, but that's about it. Steve likes a bit of back and forth.
COLONEL JONESEY
You know
Pete’s gone too 😫
Stop with the belching, UGH!
blah blah blah
How about you stop listening you saddo?
That's Jones. He's not intending to be disgusting. He'll no doubt think that belching is just normal. Human. It's who he is.
