The people chastising him need to grow up. He's got the mentality of a winner and the arrogance that goes along with it. He's given us some great nights and has came from nothing, respect it! Let him be proud and have his justifications, the man deserves it
I don't understand the hate haye was an elite fighter , did you see him smashing wilder about in sparring . At his best he would give anyone a hard night
Arrogance is never, ever a positive. Haye is not arrogant. Two weight world champ. He may be boastful but not arrogant. Arrogance is a misplaced or unjustified sense of superiority.
He gave the UK boxing scene its spark it needed at the time, Ricky Hatton was coming to the end, Calzaghe was coming to a end, Froch and Haye kept the UK boxing scene alive and gave us some great nights, Never understood the hate David gets.
Great interview. Haye started the interview with an arrogant aura that he’s known for, but once you got under the bonnet he was refreshingly honest. At his peak he has ridiculous one punch power. Personally, I’d like Simon to have asked more about his relationship with Booth.
@@joegugg4129 I agree. Those methods are beneficial to young men but detrimental to older men. He should have changed training styles once hit turned 30.
Its probably not safe to let the Chisora talk drag on because Chisora is the type of person who catches feelings and might track Simon down and throw hands (I'm serious).
The frustrating thing with David Haye is that even though he was a double champ? I feel like he could’ve done so much more. Honestly if he just kept his cruiserweight build at heavyweight during that period when he face Tony Bellew and so on it would’ve been a different story honestly think he’s so much more talented than 99% of the roster in the current heavyweight division.
There was nothing for him at Cruiser. At that time it was a dead division. Whether or not Haye was as good as people claim, given he largely fought average fighters, is up for debate. But stepping up to Heavy was a bold move and probably the only available one. By that point there wasn't really anyone at Heavy either. It had been stagnant for 10-15 years and he lacked the size to flatten the 'proper' heavies. It would have been nice to see him now against Joshua, Fury, Parker and Wilder. We'd have more context for how good he is / was The one or two real misses were not seeing him in against Briggs and Fury
@@liamr194 Didnt he knock Chisora out unconscious? He was pretty small for HW standards but his power was insane and translated nicely into a higher weight class which doesn’t happen too often.
I agree although he achieved a lot I believe he could have done more and been better remembered in history sadly his career was just good not great but he was more than capable of being great had all the attributes maybe it was just injuries and fights not lining up
Always loved David Haye a British boxing legend who unfortunately nowadays gets remembered for his shithousery not his boxing legacy, how he went through the ranks ironing people out bitd was awesome
Great interview. Didn’t live the life in the same way as Aj, and ultimately, his body let him down in the end, but can’t knock the career he had and the box office nights. Haye v Bellew 1 still probably the most excited I’ve ever been for a boxing match.
Is it just me, or is David Haye much more likeable now since he retired I think he was often well matched in a poor era for heavyweights and probably cruiserweights too But he was exciting to watch & had bundles of charisma in spite of all the reasons he was very easy to dislike at the time
Always liked David, great British champ. The Bellew fights were a bit of a low point for a few reasons but in his prime he was fantastic. And a good bloke
He gained the majority of my respect during the 1st Bellew fight fighting on with that injury. Mainly because I once had a week off work with a gnat bite.
In fairness to Haye, I’ve broken my toe 3 times and it’s not fun at all. Can’t have been easy trying to box Wlad in that state. Just a shame he revealed it after the fight. I get why he did it but he kinda made a rod for his own back and was always gonna get stick for it. But yes, he won some of that credibility back in the first Bellew fight. Many others would have quit and there would have been no shame in that. He basically had one leg PS gnat bites are pretty nasty also
Haye win against Mormeck away in France to win the cruiserweight title is a very underrated win. Mormeck was a long standing champion and Haye took a knee to come back and knock him out
He was my favourite boxer at the time, so exciting to watch. Injuries held him back alot just wish he couldve got one more big fight healthy after klitchko
Anyone Haye predicts to win just back the opposite. He was entertaining to watch in press conferences some of the stuff he came out with 😂 Haye v John Fury debate rematch I wanna see it lol.
Say what you want about haye but he was a showman and on he's best night he was one of the best and as you seen in them bellew defeats he's not a quitter through the years we seen the best of fighters quit he went out on he's shield and never ever complained or made excuses for them defeats and gave probs too bellew fair play
Great podcast great host getting the facts out love it AJ for the win to show he's back to top 3 heavyweights undercards gonna be interesting. Keep the interviews coming.
It’s so annoying, personally I don’t mind but as much when he’s tryna help foreign English speakers find the word they’re Loking for but when he does with articulate English speakers like hate, it’s irritating
I love david haye. So derided and disrespected. He was my fave. It was awful to see him lose to bellew which wrongly elevated a fighter so much inferior to him at his peak but pfft. But he is so rudely spoken to and it isnt right. He did amazong and was the most exciting fighter id seen before usyk

I loved David D Haye growing up watching him on sky, he has the swag and could back it up, massive puncher he had a touch of stardust for sure. Prime Haye beats Bellew in the 1st round and Tony knows that himself. Would be nice for Jordan to ask a question and let the star of the show answer it but we he is a narcissist so it's got to be about him!
I will remember haye as haye in his prime and he was brilliant and exciting. The people who talk about him losing to bellew are casuals who have watched boxing for 5 years or 6...haye is light years better than bellew, similar people to who say neymar is better than r9
Ehhhh I believe every part of his story is authentic aside from Audley. You cant whack in Audley Harrison into a title fight and claim it was out of your control. Aside from that very good interview. He was an athletic phenom in his day. Similar to joshua just a bit smaller.

Went out on his shield. Warriors heart.
Whether you like David haye or not it’s still worth listening to him talk
Haye was always a sound guy, he just knew how to play the villain in order to get or sell a fight
