- It's March 2008 and after dethroning the brilliant Jean Marc Mormeck in Paris to pick up the WBA and WBC Cruiserweight championships, David Haye took on WBO champion Enzo Macarinelli at a sold out o2 Arena. It was one of the most memorable performances of Haye's career.

The Haye who fought Bellew was a shadow of this fighter. Let's not forget he knocked out Delboy Chisora in 5 rounds, and not many heavyweights, even the the good ones, beat Chisora that convincingly.
David at his ultimate best would of beaten Tony Bellew hands down and Bellew was dead lucky David had that injury, Because David on the judge's scorecards was up 4 rounds to 1.
Delboy at that time is far more dangerous than he is now, he have that stamina, fast hand speed, chin, heart, head movement (like his last fight againts kubrat pulev) and strong too
Chisora looked limited, going back to that fight. I think Haye was the one who helped bring him up to world level
9:18 is still, to this day, the hardest shot I've seen anyone take and stay standing.
Yep!
I come and watch this fight a few times a year for that shot! 👍
Hand speed and power !! Haye was an absolute Monster at crusierweight !!
😂 haye had the weakest crusierweight generation, Macarineli would not be even the among top 30 crusiers now
@@redblacktichy7713casual
@@redblacktichy7713yes he would
Prime haye what a monster at Crusier an let’s not forget at this point Enzo was WBO champ an highly touted
Круто молодец
Was never the same fighter after this !!
@@marceltavares9 Boxing is a brutal and strange sport of moments. Enzo not taking a knee or going down when he got caught big ended his career at world title level. His holding onto the ropes and taking those flush power shots on the way down did something permanent to him I have zero doubt of that. He was forever susceptible to getting hurt hereafter.
I’m pretty sure he was the favourite for this fight
And he got caught on the juice. Who's have thought it. Looking at the 2 of them
9:18 what a freaking punch
One of the best punches you will ever see without the fighter going down. And, it was a David Haye punch. Unbelievable!!
Joe Calzaghe’s face at 10:00. He’s just like “Useless bastard.” h h h😂
if looks could kill
Brilliant quality for 2008 Video!
calazaghe shouting 'move ur head!' never gets old
I know he says otherwise but Haye really improved from here onwards. This guy here would have gotten tossed around the ring against Chisora and Klitschko. Haye at Heavyweight was underrated as hell!
I’m sorry but no, Haye at heavyweight was dog shit to watch and I love Haye. His best performances were against journeymen at heavy. He was negative and awful to watch. At cruiser he was a menace.
I reckon calzaghe had money on Enzo, he looked disgusted when the ref waived it off 😂
nope calzaghes father trains Enzo , hes part of the same team and both welsh itallian
The disrespect Haye gets is disgusting, prime Haye was a absolute monster... people also forget he stepped up to heavyweight and shook up the whole boring devision! Class fighter
exactly pal the heavyweight division was getting boring he made it exciting again.
He was a great fighter but he gets the hate i think because he cherry picked most of his career and fought really less wasted alot of prime years doing nothing. That being said i enjoyed watching him fight n loved his style of fighting when his toe wasn’t hurting.
@@abdulkhan2694 dunno if I agree with your view on haye "cherry picking" his fights...he had just moved up a weight, I think he fought whoever he could, I personally think when he did go up to heavyweight most of the big boys avoid him...and rightly so!
@@humphrey_bulldoguk22 not really everyone wanted to fight him because it was a big payday against him at a time when heavyweights had little interest in remember hayes rise he fought monte barret then valuev defended against retired john ruiz then audly harrison i mean whats that all about then klitchko n lost tht easy
@@abdulkhan2694 I think you might be underestimating the valuev win...he was heavyweight champion from...I'm not going to look it up lol but I'm going to say mid 90s to the naughties...that win was absolutely huge!
A prime Haye at Cruiserweight takes out Bellew and Usyk. The speed and power were phenomenal
This performance from Haye was both electryfying and terrifying in equal measure. Enzo wasn't a journeyman by any stretch, and yet after this fight was never the same boxer again. Haye devastated Enzo in this fight. The speed, power and precision from Haye back then was a joy to see. Had Bellew been a CW around Hayes prime, I don't think Tony would have been champ. Unfortunate to see a broken Haye beaten twice by Bellew though. Haye was one of my favourite fighters in modern boxing history.
By
bellew fully admitted a prime haye would have smashed him to pieces
As much as people love to hate Haye, prime Haye like this was far greater than any current British boxer. Those right Haaaannnndddssss!
David Haye was a very hard puncher in his prime 👊
This version of David Haye would have destroyed Bellew and give Usyk a hell of a fight
Awesome demolition job!!
Haye quite beasty at cruiserweight. Looks on gear. Guy was pure entertainment. Awesome when that time he stood up for himself at press conferences vs Chisora. Agree or not he earned his respect ✊
A prime Haye was a monster. People forget that these days
David haye knocked Enzo into the Abyss….🤣the state on Enzo , like a wet bag of chips on the floor
Brilliant performance by Haye, maybe the greatest at cruiserweight...
What,????
Holy field goat
Come off it. Nowhere near the same class as Holyfield or Usyk.
@@chriswilliamson7694 Yes he was. If he’d stayed at cruiserweight his legacy would be very different. The perfect cruiserweight.
@@videolad3057 , stopped by Thompson, on the deck and all over the place against a blown-up Super-Middleweight in Mock (he had to rugby tackle him to the floor to get through that), even the Fragomeni fight became a bit of a struggle where he took way too many shots. He has two title fights at Cruiser, good win (albeit decked again) against Mormeck and then Enzo Mac....the less said about Enzo at the highest level, the better. Compare that to Holyfield or Usyk, be it in terms of performance level or opposition, and Haye is nowhere near them. He's nowhere near them as a Heavyweight, either. He was a good Cruiser but hardly amazing. And his heavyweight career was a glorified Ponzi scheme.
@@chriswilliamson7694 You have educated me sir.
This haye (in his prime) would have beaten bellew in my opinion
Would have walked through him
Definitely
Obviously
100%
He was great to watch in his prime, fast and tricky with explosive power. It would be fun to watch him against Holyfield or Usyk while it lasted.
Holyfield would’ve destroyed him I think Usyk would’ve out pointed him aswell Qawi would’ve whipped his ass aswell still a good fighter tho
Prime haye was a problem.
So does Enzo these days ….he’s still stumbling around from that punch 🥊 …in 2022
9:45 what speed!!!
3:14
*Die beste Boxerhose, die es je gegeben hat!*
⭐️🇹🇷⭐️🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷⭐️🇹🇷⭐️
Calzaghe shouting instructions give the game away, listen, calzaghe shouts step in with the jab , Enzo does it , and haye clocks him
Love to
See this haye vs prime roy jones
Indeed, they have similiar styles. Would make a great fight
9:52 nice lil dance
That shot from Haye at 9.18 would’ve knocked a horse out
Those were the days and these were the fights. Real fighters.
What the fuck is up with modern boximg
sadly I think that ended Enzo's Career
That version of Haye was a fking monster
I always wondered what what would have happened if haye fought Cunningham although Cunningham had 9 losses he had some talent and i always wondered what would happen if David haye fought usyk
Cunningham at the time had only loss once an revenged that loss it would of been very interesting but a fight i would of loved to of seen is Haye vs O’Neil bell 2 of the biggest punchers ever in the division
Haye would ko usyk
@@hamzahussain1933 , hahahaha. If anyone's getting beaten inside-schedule there it's Haye.
Cunningham was actually a very good fighter, I know he lost a few times, but when he was disciplined and came in fight mode he was a beast.
At CW Haye vs USYK would have been IMMENSE, literally a 50/50 coin flip.
The look Joe calzaghie give Enzo when ref stoped fight he had disgust in his face with enzo
Disgust*
@@mauriciosauliman9494 bet your fun at parties bud
Never knew Haye was a Cypriot and Booth once had a barnet.
Calzaghe looks pissed when the ref waves it off😂
Lol i always chuckle when i see calzaghe's reaction 🤣 im glad you noticed that too
@adamoliver5589 lol its even funnier when you see his instant disgust where's he was barking instructions at him less than a minute beforehand 😅
@@crazychrisfromessex1740 i know lol its funny af 🤣
Not once did David Haye give credit to his fallen opponent.
What a shame.
lookin david haye short right legs northen cyprus flag!!!! we love u brother!! respect from turkey
How did Haye ever get away with the body armour waistband shorts.
Haye was a great boxer,Bellew fights changed him,he was not the same after.
I think the ref could have let it go on. Bit of an early stoppage. Enzo was up and on his feet.
10:54 HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAAHAAAAAAAA THE REF
We need another David Haye in todays boxing, just all to money focused, the majority of drama for money, just wish they stopped being like wwe lol
Enzo was a fucking beast! And Haye destroyed him! Underated to fuck
At the time I quite vocally picked Maccarinelli to win this. Oops.
It happens, mate.
Shoulder roll 2.23 🤣
Enzo’s girlfriend’s reaction explains why most men won’t fight.
Love David but he’s not a natural Heavyweight 😂 18:12
Imagine this version of david haye vs tony bellew. Haye would have knocked bellew out cold
Enzo quiter always have been
PBC on FOX.TBE Leonard The best promoter ever Ellerbe 💯. 🇺🇲🇨🇦🇬🇧🇪🇺💰
Not on this planet
@@acetofresh1 That's the same thing your mama said to you When you try to get in there🐟🤣💯🇨🇦🇬🇧🇪🇺🇺🇸🏴
Enzo lost coz he kept dropping his left hand after his jab and Enzo Calzaghe didn't tell him to keep hid hands up in training since Enzo joined Calzaghe gym he went downhill
Macarinelli was so overhyped
That referee is an idiot. He stopped the fight early and the most damaging blows came after he had already been knocked down. It’s not Haye’s fault he’s doing what he’s supposed to do. The referee is supposed to get in there when the fighter is knocked down. When the referee puts a damper on a win tha kind of sucks.
