Its amazing how calm, well spoken he is, (having learned english not long ago) the mental strength of Francis is on levels that many humans cannot even see. He truly is an athlete that can wear his heart on his sleeve, and still have the essence of a warrior locked in until unleashed. Nothing but total respect for him and his family.

"I decided to leave, not to quit" - very powerful words that totally give you different context. I admire how thoroughly Ngannou has listened to what Steve was saying and asking and how mindfully he was answering the questions.
Easily the most elaborate Ngannou interview ever. Coming from Cameroon, you hear a lot of stories about his life, but never this concise and elaborate. Kudos to Steven and the team for putting this masterpiece together. Very good interview. Ngannou to the world 🌎 🇨🇲🥇
Can someone honestly name someone who's a better role model than Ngannou? Never had a personal controversy, always calm and respectful, came from less than nothing, went through hell and back to get out of Africa, learned a completely new sport in a few months, started competing at the highest level, lost against the champion, lost his comeback fight, then went on to obliterate everyone in his path, became the UFC HW champion, brought the belt back to Africa and stopped at the sand mines he worked at when he was a kid to give a hand. Fought the Man, never gave up on his ideas of fair compensation for EVERYONE and not just himself, got ridiculed for sticking to his values,, fought out of his contract, got a boxing fight against the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time, was dismissed by everyone, almost beat Fury, got generational wealth out of two boxing fights, and he's now fighting through the most awful pain a parent can feel. And he will come out of this stronger than ever, and we will love and respect anything he decides to do because he just fucking deserves the world. Big love Francis, you're such a huge inspiration

Unbelievable strength to be interviewed after 2 months of loosing his son 🥺 I lost my beautiful baby boy when he was 10yrs old 💔 you never fully process that kind of grief!! Never!!! Trust me it doesn't get easier 😭 you have no choice but to except it and learn to live with that incredibly priceless peice of your future missing .. missing forever 💔🕊
Similar here, lost a 6 yrs old son, a replica of me and whom has qualities I could have asked God for. Devastating. Anytime I want to buy gifts for my other kids, I grieve that I couldn’t buy for him again since he’s no more. 💔
My heart breaks for this man. Losing his son after everything he went through. Rest in love little man ❤️ I will never get tired of hearing Francis's story. It needs to be a movie/autobiography one day

My parents crossed borders with two kids when I was just one year old. We have so many heroes around us who never get the chance to be interviewed. Thank you again for this beautiful, inspiring story. ❤
It is humbling to hear his story. When you think you are stressed, your life is tough, you have problems , life is not fair, think of Ngannou and you know whatever you are facing is trivial. He is such a calm person! Wow! So many valuable lessons from him about life, struggle interpretation and move on while you literally have nothing. He started from zero! But, how calm he is! I'm impressed! Nowadays whenever checking social media, everyone screaming about everything they believe/voicing for regardless a less famous or highly popular influencer/celebrity. He is very different. I didn't even know his name until this podcast, hearing first time giving me hope and another level of respect for him. I gotta google him and see his boxing matches!
I am only nearly half way through this video and I have so many mixed emotions - sad, surprised, motivated, happy. What a right time for you to introduce Ngannou’s story to the world, especially to UK. I hope most of us in UK watch this.
As a Nigerian , his story is an indictment on African governmental lack of leadership to provide adequate living conditions to all their citizens. It’s ashame that his father had to come to that tragic faith due to lack of resources and opportunities. Thanks for the inspiration. Your story is African story and we appreciate you. Your naija brother. Chukwu nna gozie gi ooooo

@@besmart2350 We are NOT behind. The problem is our leadership group mismanage and use all the resources for themselves and their families. We are NOT behind. My son died as well at a very young age, they never found anything wrong. He was perfect, no genetic diseases, no illness. They have no idea why he passed away. You get no answers, then you go through scenarios and its very bad for your mental health, they say time heals but its been 5 years and it still comes and hurts any time of the day. I live for my son. I don't fear death, I actually embrace death, if I feel like my heart is about to stop I dont panic, because if there is a small chance I can see him again I embrace that, and when I don't die, I live my best happiest life, I do things I want to do. I help people because that makes me feel good, because in the end its either eternal life or nothing and I am fine with anything in between, win win for me.
Yeah even being an Atheist like me, yet Animist still no one knows what's on the other side even concluding that probably nothing happens, and souls even the ones we hate (that we could love in other circumstances) we likely go all at same place or same void = we simply die and cease to exist...the fact that thousands of generations before us kept moving forward with our species, the absolute unknown surrounding God, what the Universe means, etc we can still have that last thought that we'll be reunited with people we love that passed away.
Can you imagine this ,it happens daily many die ,infections, illness, drinking sea water, no food ,non sanitary conditions ,mental health. They would rather die just for a chance to work and eat daily in another country. Just the basics to live. On top of this racism and hate ,the country blames you for ruining their country. Human being just want to live. I boy said to me ,the pain of not able to see your mum eat ,you can't get it out of your head. So they risk there lifes for basics. We then people turn around and hate them for wanting what you have THINK ABOUT IT.
I had no idea who this man was but I am a subscriber listenning to all interviews. I am crying now after listening to this interview, what am inspirational man!

I have to say thank you for this very kind and interesting interview! Francis is such a strong and outstanding character! Sorry for your loss dude, hope you find your inner peace and way out of this heartbreaking situation. I also want to talk about the interviewer! You are such a kind person with such an empathy ,allowing yourself to show emotions, that is ispirational for me. I like your style ..... you don't interrupt, you give the other person time to answer and you are well prepared! You do some good job here!
Francis is an example of what it looks like when you truly take responsibility for your life… what an inspiration. A survivor to a thriver. Putting all that aside, when you truly love someone and loose them, the world gets divided into two; those who know grief, and those who don’t. It never goes away, just the gaps between the devastating spaces get bigger. R.E.S.P.E.C.T FRANCIS through all that, you still have dignity and a big heart.

Unbelievable strength to be interviewed after 2 months of loosing his son 🥺 I lost my beautiful baby boy when he was 10yrs old 💔 you never fully process that kind of grief!! Never!!! My son passed away 11.08.2011 his angel-versarry is just around the corner, again!!
May Allah give you and your family the strength and more belief my brother or sister, whoever you are
Sorry Michelle. May God confort you to find the strength to live.RIP
Not forever Michelle you'll meet again with your son, Love is bigger than death as we have been shown by His Almighty's Grace.
My heart breaks for this man. Losing his son after everything he went through. Rest in love little man ❤️ I will never get tired of hearing Francis's story. It needs to be a movie/autobiography one day
Nothing hurts more than not being able to protect your child when you are a Man like Francis. I hope that pain lessens in him over time
It is great to see Francis here, he has such a incredible back story.
I had never heard of this guy so nearly didn’t watch it…but omg it’s the best interview ever!!! Im
blown away! ❤
Francis, YOU ARE THE BEST !
YOU TOOK ME AND ALL OF OUR PEOPLE with you, TO THE MOUNTAIN TOP. THANK YOU FOR THAT.
An incredible story. Captivated. The experiences he has had in his life. Such a wonderful human being.
This is incredibly inspiring. I also want to bring awareness to the fact that many people, including my parents, crossed borders like Francis. My parents crossed borders with two kids when I was just one year old. We have so many heroes around us who never get the chance to be interviewed. Thank you again for this beautiful, inspiring story. ❤
Stephen, Your ability to empathise with a father who has lost his child is very touching. Bless you and my heart goes out to Francis too. ❤
Wow! This is by far the best episode I’ve seen.
His story is truly fascinating, what a guy.
Steve, watching and listening to Francis' story put my life in perspective. "Being grateful for life and understand what is important."
The authenticity of this beautiful , brave soul touched me so deeply , bless you Francis Ngannou 🙏🏻
Lots of respect for Francis Ngannou. Inspirational character.
It is humbling to hear his story. When you think you are stressed, your life is tough, you have problems , life is not fair, think of Ngannou and you know whatever you are facing is trivial. He is freak - so strong, so powerful, in such a short time, he became the UFC Heavyweight champ. All the best Ngannou. I salute you!
Well put
life changing interview, this was one of the craziest ive seen
Beautiful interview, strength, resilience...... Everything!! Thank you.I did not know who Francis Ngannou was but I will ot ever forget again, humbled!
now these are the true sportsman that we should be telling our children to look up to! so confident yet respectful ...love from Zimbabwe
Such a Thoughtful, Brilliant Orator. His ability to describe his inner thoughts and feelings so eloquently in what is Not his language of birth is a testament to his Brilliance.
He's a philosopher, a superhuman "hardest punch recorded" his achievements are bonkers and keep coming he's the actual spokesperson I'd vote for from all humanity to be the 1st contact to 👽encounter "welcome to Earth, we are humans and I'm a great specimen for you to understand our limits!"
No excuses. The failure is not taking action, not even trying. Thank you, Francis ❤
I didn’t know of this man before this podcast. Thank you for sharing your story of triumph and heartbreak. It put my world into perspective. 🙏🏾your heart finds joy and peace 🧡
Got me in tears near the end. You're an inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing and I'm sending you so much love and light, and it's so nice for you to share your resilience, it helps everyone around. Thank you
Fav quote from this ep 2:05:49 "So whatever you have, keep trying. It might work, it might not. But atleast you'll be in peace with yourself knowing that you have given it your all." Immediately going to my codes for life. Words to live by!
The pain he has gone through and trials unimaginable. As always thankyou for sharing
😢 beautiful and yet, tragic story. From one Cameroonian to another, I'm proud of him. I support him. 🇨🇲❤
When he said lets talk about something els i directly burst into tears. We are just human and creatures. I wish you both guys te best
This is the most inspiring interview of all times🔥
Thank you for hosting such a great Legend ‼️
There's some people that are among us that are just really good hearted people. This guy exhibits this to the highest level. Love his story, great guy.
I have never watched a +2hour interview without taking a short break... This is definitely the most inspiring & relatable story I've heard from the internet. Thank you soo much for making this interview happen!!
No break... me too
MERCI FRANÇIS ! MERCI POUR CETTE VULNÉRABILITÉ QUI EST TON SUPER POUVOIR. Love from Cameroon.
As a proud Cameroonian 🇨🇲 and a Ghanaian 🇬🇭, l’m so touched with his story, so inspiring, l have learned alot about his story. From Grassroots to Grace. You’re my hero
AMERICA AND CHINA RUN AFRICA! LOOK AT HOW COUNTRIES TREAT THEIR CITIZENS, DESPICABLE.
Fellow Nigerian here, and I agree 1,000,000%!!! I watched in disbelief as that potato head Tinubu (emi l'okan) was "elected". I couldn't believe we were willingly screwing ourselves AGAIN! Some dogs never learn no matter how much you whip them.
We are pathetic. It disgusts me!
Why is African countries behind economically and citizen level? Is it because you don’t have natural resources like oil?
@@besmart2350 ... you're kidding, right?
@@besmart2350 We are NOT behind. The problem is our leadership group mismanage and use all the resources for themselves and their families. We are NOT behind. We just need selfless and caring leaders to think about their citizens. Europe, America and Asians countries depend on Africa for their wellness
Sorry for your loss 🖤
We then people turn around and hate them for wanting what you have
THINK ABOUT IT.
@@USFighter sending heartfelt blessings to you. Keep going ❤️
You will see him again
This is the first episode I actually teared up on. The last 20 minutes, wow. Everyone needs to hear this.
What a story men!! This is one of the best stories I ever heard in my life!! Definitely we need a movie of his life.
Not deserts or oceans or forests or barbwire fences many feet high but the love of that beautiful boy.
I had no idea who this man was but I am a subscriber listenning to all interviews. I am crying now after listening to this interview, what am inspirational man!
This gentleman’s gentle polite respectful voice and story puts me in a humbling beautiful place..I’ve got my story but this dudes is another level

How does this guy manage to keep on smiling , what a guy.
This was tear moving and thought provoking. What an incredible man. Honestly brilliant interview. I hope this proved somewhat therapeutic for him. Much love.
A gentle giant with a lion's heart and a beautiful soul with a difficult path and the wisdom of elders.
beautifully and perfectly stated
This man is incredible... One of the best interviews I have ever seen.
The last 15 minutes of this hit me right in the feels. What a story, what an inspiration.
I will neverEVER complain again, what a FiGHTER ❤
He's a warrior King 👑 💯 No matter win or lose his story is one that no other fighter today, can match. I will add him to my Great Gladiator list 👊🏾 God's speed my Brudda 🙏🏽 Keep knocking down Mountains
First of all... give credit to Steven as a MASTER interviewer. Others can learn from him on how to keep quiet and let the person speak. Secondly... Francis you are an absolute inspiration and more importantly a gentleman. May God bless you and your family on your journey ahead. Best podcast ever!!. Thank you.
One of our greatest champion, we have🇨🇲 proud to be Cameroonian💯🔥😊
Francis is so real, he is the furthest thing from a failure. He is inspiring and he just gave me some inspiration. Thank you Francis 💪
One of the best interview I have ever watched. I know as an African we dont really believe in therapy but he should. You have to go through things but u dont need to do it alone. ❤️❤️❤️
he wasn't alone in his journey's steps, the truck, the boat, the ring, the family...
My thought
I have never watched an interview in the past and felt so much emotion. I can listen to him all day long. Steve was short of words at one point in time lol it as so tense. I love this guys
This was deep, raw and deep, leaves me so regrouped of what our purpose in pursuing our goals is, life has many courses as we sail. Thanks Francis😘
