The most eye-opening thing that Jamie said in this was that Liverpool only lost 4 games in one season and finished second and only lost 2 in another. 6 loses in 2 seasons and not won the league in either just shows how good the Premier League was
Roy was & always will be my idol when it comes to football, but when it comes to his mates off the pitch he can spin any negative to a positive & boost them up
Henchoz and Hypia were two towers at the back. Brilliant in the 00-02 period together, before Henchoz age and injuries caught up. Hypia himself was then and still is incredibly underrated by non-Liverpool fans.
Hi lads, I love the show. Just on a more serious note, can you tell Roy to make sure he checks out that little mark on the skin on his left temple (see 31:55). Hopefully he has and it’s nothing but just to be sure to be sure.. Again, love the show, keep it up 👏
Really interesting watch/listen. Great that they just listen to each other and take proper interest. Mad how Jamie was a striker breaking all the records as a kid, and ended up playing at the back - just shows the levels!
Carra is so much fun to listen. He tells great stories, asks the right questions, great memory and very honest about his opinions, his career and other’s.
That 2005 Milan team had Dida in goal, a backline of Cafu, Maldini, Stam and Nesta. A midfield of Pirlo, Seedorf and Gattuso. Up top they had Crespo and Shevchenko with Kaka in 10. Ancelotti on the touchline. That was like fantasy football come alive, a Galactico team in every sense....and Liverpool won. My club won. I'll never forget that night. It was a miracle indeed. 🥹🥲
@@alansouthall8221 Wouldn't say the worst team but definitely some of the weakest players to win the CL. I know everyone says that Jamie is a great pundit, and I get all that. But I would say he has had a stellar club career. You don’t make 737 appearances without doing something right. I remember him smacking the bar jn his final premier league game. Would have been a grand way to bow out. Chee

@CombatMediaa he was definitely above average and consistency as a CB is a huge quality to have. He'd be a starter for England if he was playing nowadays
First 3 years under Rafa, he was brilliant. His level dropped after that & his style of booting the ball away is all anyone remembers of him but 2005-2008 he was at the top of his game.

Wow he can remember his hobby lol....I think someone is self conscious about his lack of overall intelligence compared to the likes of GaryNeville (and lack of footballing success) and less well spoken etc.. that they have to talk about his memory to justify why he's on the show with them.
@@FootkerSnooball😂
Really enjoyed learning about Carra more there. Even more respect for him now. He does a cracking job with everything he does in punditry on here, definitely done himself and his family proud 👏
Can understand why Carra irks people. But there is no doubting his knowledge, honesty, and the validity of what he says. Like or not, he was a very good player (better than he gives himself credit for actually) and had a fantastic career. Great to hear about it.
Love him or hate him, Carra's memory of events/players/scorelines is truly remarkable. He loves the footie.
The dynamic of questions being asked between Gary and Wrighty works really well.
Wrighty was jumping all over the place.
Neville “we’ve heard it wrighty we’ve hear it” wrighty “ I know we’ve heard it but we’re talking about F****** Jamie carragher” 🤣🤣🤣
Carra's knowledge on the game is really good and hes a great pundit. What impresses me even more is how good his memory is going back decades to his youth days. Sharp mind.
@@Targaryen_Historian He's a savant at best. He's never even cooked in his life.
@@FootkerSnooball Good. If he's a savant in his field and has that much knowledge on the game he was brought up on all throughout his life then it's good for him.
Scholes is a great addition to this. Doesn't say much, but asks very good questions when he does talk. And says absolute gold when he talks as well. Hopefully he'll be on this more 🙂🙂🙂
Totally agree mate
Agreed
Should start a new show with Roy and Ian called stick to biscuits that would be worth a watch.
We need Milner for that one too then!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Tbh I find this show more entertaining than the sport nowadays. So many great athletes but not many great footballers..
Completely agree!
What an episode, Absolutely brilliant. Carra’s memory and knowledge of football is second to none. And the fact that he is so humble, don’t ever change Jamie 👌
I love how when Scholes laughs he then instantly goes back to normal in the flick of a switch😂😂
I don't always enjoy Mr Carrager's opinion but my word he really does speak well and with passion. Throughly enjoyed Jamie's story. Good lad. 👍🏻👌🏻💯
Hate him or love him, no one can deny that Carra has had a successful career.
Carra being very humble throughout this episode on his own ability. Countless games he was vital for Liverpool. Obviously the one’s that stick out was how good he did in the big games in Europe and the Barcelona game I remember where we got run into the ground and was cramping up etc etc and he was unbelievable and obviously how good he was in Istanbul 2005.
I will never forget Carra's last game, when he carried the ball through the whole pitch and launched a screamer hitting the post ! that would've been a perfect farewell but bro wasn't lucky
Like Suarez vs Arsenal that smashed the post in the 5-1 a year later. One of them nearly screams that just lives rent free in my mind lol.
The whole crowd shouted “SHOOOOT” 😂
Worth their weight in gold these podcasts. Always insightful, interesting, engaging, but for me I just love the banter and chemistry that runs brilliantly through them all. Just class.
The show that just keeps giving..
Not only did you bring us joy in your playing says but you are still doing it to this day..
Like most United fans I have loved the rivalry between us, Arsenal and Liverpool over the years but the insight you guys give us of not just the sport but your own personal journeys should be commended and applauded...
It's not just the joy it brings us fans but the insight it gives to the younger generations as they are beginning their own life journey..
Well done lads..!!
Carra a legend! Remember his debut goal at villa.... on teletext 😂 wow those were the days! Great servant of the club! Thank u for your story, journey and commitment to LFC. Great content again from the overlap team! Keep it coming❤
I can listen to Jaimie all day and I’m a UTD supporter! Great story teller!!
Scholesy’s mannerisms and delivery are identical to Karl Pilkington’s. Dry and hilarious. I love it!
Honestly one of the best episodes this. The way Jamie talks about his career and memories was just great to listen to.
All completely different characters but they all respect each other and bring out the best each other. Brilliant !!
Can't wait to get to the office and listen to this while grinding. DAY SORTED. LET'S GOOOO.
👏🏾👏🏾 same
Grinding in an office is an obvious fire risk. Safety first please .
"Grinding"
Love how all the lads played for rival teams back in the day but set up the question for carra to hit back at the haters about his own goals! then they all react by banging on the table and cheering him on!! Love to see it
I enjoy hearing the stories and what carragher has to say. He always answers what questions he has been asked and I've never seen him try to dodge a question .love the podcast lad's and Scholes is a great addition to the podcast.
Dear producers!! Adjust cameras slightly so Wrighty isnt facing backwards or sideways always.
Any one impressed by Jamie’s memory! Literally remembered every score, year, player etc and that’s from the youth games. Super enjoyable watch/listen
Not expecting Jamie to be as interesting and articulate as this. Top stuff!
I used to LOVE Wrighty's talk show. He was a great host. I remember thinking he'd be the next Jonathan Ross. One interview with Will Smith really stuck with me. I remember Wrighty said to him "you are a shining light brother". Such positive vibes with Wrighty 💖
10:00 can someone tell Gary, when he’s trying to sell products, don’t make it look like he’s being held hostage.
😂😂😂
Hahah just got to this bit, he’s terrible at it 😂
Roy is always on he's biscuits and tea ,every single show :)
Typical of us Irish tbh. Biscuits and tea is important business. 😂
100% have to have a cuppa tea and a few biccys while having the chats ☘️@@LoCoAde87
@@LoCoAde87That's British actullay not irish
Roy is why I have breath
finally!!! i mean we all joke about how average carra was, but 700+ plus games for liverpool, back up for terry or rio in england, come on he couldnt that bad
Scholesy back? Unexpected but here for it
He seems to genuinely like Jamie for some reason
@@imnotkevinbrennan5955 must be ill
Dull as dish water
@@mccleandazza4618I think he has a very funny dry sense of humour.
"Don't know it's just holidays" 😮
Scholesy is so authentic it stands out even in a group that includes Roy Keane. What a player. Class act.
Bro broke his leg and did not shed a tear but went home and slept.
Mad respect.
Players these days dramatically cry for a touch ffs
I don't think I'll ever be able to like Carra, but i respect his football knowledge, knows his stuff - can go back decades and have little details, impressive
Why you don’t like him? I saw many people saying Uhh I don’t like him. Why? I’m just interested. Me personally I love his character and story telling
Favorite footy podcast it leaves me “MESMERIZED” 😂
The most eye-opening thing that Jamie said in this was that Liverpool only lost 4 games in one season and finished second and only lost 2 in another.
6 loses in 2 seasons and not won the league in either just shows how good the Premier League was
Yep from 2004-2010 the quality of the prem was head and shoulders above what it is today.
@@gribbo78agreed. It’s higher than ever today
Absolutely love it lads, great show, have been missing carra
Roy was & always will be my idol when it comes to football, but when it comes to his mates off the pitch he can spin any negative to a positive & boost them up
Ian Wright is a gem of a human ...thats all
Fantastic! Carragher's New York and now this!
This show is brilliant, I love it, make sure you never drop Roy Keane
Henchoz and Hypia were two towers at the back. Brilliant in the 00-02 period together, before Henchoz age and injuries caught up.
Hypia himself was then and still is incredibly underrated by non-Liverpool fans.
Henchoz was ridiculously underrated
Just one hour...this could have been 2 hours easily. Great listening great watch. Amazing personality Carra.
0:43 keano wanting ginger nuts as soon as scholsey walks in is the underrated joke of the century😂😂
😂😂
I'm so impressed with Carras memory and detail on his career, a great interviewed loved the entire hour, well done Carra!!
Great episode that. Carra seems a decent bloke and his football knowledge is insane!
To be fair. His tackle in the champ final was game saving.
I could listen to jamie speak for hours. Remembers everything explains the details perfectly and he doesnt think he was better than he was
Hi lads, I love the show. Just on a more serious note, can you tell Roy to make sure he checks out that little mark on the skin on his left temple (see 31:55). Hopefully he has and it’s nothing but just to be sure to be sure.. Again, love the show, keep it up 👏
The team does.
Good catch mate, hopefully they see this, pass it on and give you a shout out for it. Top man 👍
Carragher is a really good interview. This was excellent.
Gary not licking the lid of his yogurt was offensive 😂
Licking the lid is disgusting, especially in public. Have some decorum.
@@SteveAustin-zv1nnGrow up
@SteveAustin-zv1nn Do you consider it more acceptable in private? If so, what makes doing it in public more disgusting?
He isnt from Liverpool lad
Honestly one of the worst things to see is someone eating yoghurt 😂
Really interesting watch/listen. Great that they just listen to each other and take proper interest. Mad how Jamie was a striker breaking all the records as a kid, and ended up playing at the back - just shows the levels!
Scholes' face when Gary Talks is priceless
an affront to football that.
that liverpool side were arugably the worst team to win the trophy in recent times
@@alansouthall8221 Wouldn't say the worst team but definitely some of the weakest players to win the CL. They would just never let themselves get embarrassed by anyone and would always think they could win no matter the odds. Reminds me of Leicester winning the Prem, not great individuals, a few good players, but as a team they just wouldn't stop for each other.
@@alansouthall8221"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH"
He was injured most of the season but Inzahgi was in thatbsquad too. Also Rui Costs
That team is insane
I know everyone says that Jamie is a great pundit, and I get all that. But I would say he has had a stellar club career. You don’t make 737 appearances without doing something right. I remember him smacking the bar jn his final premier league game. Would have been a grand way to bow out. Chee
I remember that too. Would've been life-changing had that gone in. Not even overreacting.
He just needs to know when to shut up on these shows - sometimes he overshadows the guests.
Carra’s memory is ridiculously good. The details he remembers like it’s nothing is impressive
My sister done that show and won a trip to Vegas, great show and I had a chat with Wrighty Friends like These
Keane says Jason McAteer on the right for Liverpool all time XI and everyone laughs 🤣🤣
That was honestly a great watch, you can see the respect keane and scholes have for carragher even though he hasn't won half the amount of titles than them,, respect 💯
Carra was unfortunate to be around when England were blessed with the best Centre Backs. Three all time great defenders ahead of him, but still a brilliant player. Every team needs that kind of personality - the guy that will run through a brick wall for you and do everything not to lose. Massive for Liverpool.
I dunno about brilliant he was a solid prem cb that’s about it. I actually have a lot of respect for him but never anything but average and consistent
Cara’s football history knowledge is so underrated. ELITE
I remember that show Wrighty hosted he would always wear his super tight leather trousers hahaha
Really enjoyed this episode with Jamie .. all the insight into the back room staff at Liverpool and his memory for the fine details dates and matches he’s played is exceptional.. well done lad !! And I’m a gooner .. 😄
Feel that players like Carra are rare now. Could do a very good job in about 5 positions.
That champions league final performance optimises what Carra was all about! Legend.
