This is one of my favourite songs from them last record - HARDWIRED... TO SELF-DESTRUCT (2016)!!!! Well, this is EVEN my favourite Metallica's album of all time - everything sounds just TIGHT and AMAZING for me on this record!!
Fun's fact: This song was written after James Hetfield saw a video/documentary about Amy Winehouse!! It's all about how she was struggling with fame since the very first time she's trying it, I believe (and a little bit about how her addictions were also probably trying to kill her)!!
Music is definitely more important than lyrics
The reason this song sounds familiar is because Metallica tried, more than other times they said they were trying, to go back to their old style with this album - I'd say this album is somewhere between And Justice For All and Master of Puppets. This particular song reminds many people (maybe not you two) of Disposable Heroes, and the album quite has that effect on listeners. "It sounds similar."

I don't even consider post Black Album Metallica to be "Metallica". They sound like a completely different band after the Black Album. They sound pop. They lost their youthful piss and vinegar. They got kids, got old, etc.
