- I enjoy going out and trying new fishing tackle, especially cheap stuff but this was a real challenge! the cheapest casting combo that I could find on aliexpress with some of the cheapest bait, what could go wrong?!

Cheap doesnt equals bad. Sometime people open up their fishing company with good products but for X reason it doesnt go well and it falls appart. So all the gear is sold as cheap as possible due to money and other reasons. I have a good quality rod and reel but i buy my braided line in Dollarstore, it is cheap and super hard so i do not mind changing it once a year for 10 bucks.

I still have the first rod I got in the 60s, it cost 19/6, ask some old dude what that is. I caught roach, pike, sea trout, brown trout, salmon ,cod mackerel and goodness knows what else, if that's what you have, then you go with it. Now 40+ rods later I still have fond memories of the rod my dad bought me when I was 11 years old.
