In todays video, I finally fix my turbo 2RZ Toyota Pickup! Previously I built this entire truck on the channel and had a blast doing it, then when it was all done I put it on the dyno where it made really impressive numbers but unfortunately the transmission couldn't keep up and went out on the dyno. This week I finally got a replacement stock transmission so I can get back to enjoying my sweet street truck!

Where would you go next on this build?
You should definitely do a drag build on it and put a electronic Locker rear end out of one of the newer Toyotas and get some slicks for the back and some skinnies for the front and see what she does
Oh yeah the turbo I'm running on mine is the T3 T4 Max speeding rods 97 dollar Turbo.... I think the compressor trim is 57 at first I thought it was too big but it's spools really fast like no lag at all
@@sebastianharrison6118, yes, that would be a cool direction to take this truck, at least for a little while. It's a perfect sleeper truck to have fun in. We tend to widen the stock wheels in the back and then put Mickey Thompson street slicks on sleeper vehicles. It will need a better set of adjustable shocks and ladder bars on the back to make a set of slicks hook up. And of course a driveshaft hoop for safety...because more power and more traction put all the stress on the u-joints. ;)
Hi , great news , VERY well done. Many thanks from UK.
Thank you very much i appreciate the support!!
I love what you're doing with the yotas
Thanks! I’m trying to make some cool old truck and cars!
Don’t apologize for not filming stuff! You got the truck done and you’re happy which is all that matters 🤘🏻
I appreciate that, I’m also just wanting to make sure I get all the footage possible to tell the full story!
LETS GOOOO turbo truck is back. Keep up the great work man!
Yes it is! I can’t wait to keep the ball rolling on this project and get it dialed in to be the ultimate turbo daily!
@@redlineranch. Also, I was wondering if you know of a good site to buy a head for a 2.7 3rz?
I just picked up a 1999 Tacoma 2wd with the 2.4 (5 speed manual). It's amazing how torquey it is. 5th gear still pulls, absolutely love driving it. 75 mph no problem. 28 mpg.
Right on, they are seriously amazing trucks!
Awesome, gives me motivation to treat my transmissions better!!!
Sometimes they need a little love to keep ‘em going!
Pretty sure you'll have a manual somewhere down the line
Great channel mate 👍
You know it, it’s going to be the only way to get all the power to the wheels
Great video once again.
Many thanks!
I would install a huge external transmission cooler on it, or you will probably cook the fluid and kill the new transmission
I’m looking into how to best do that, or debating letting it cook itself and finding a nice manual that will hold the power!
A cooler and a magnifine in-line filter are cheap insurance.
Loving this content
Love watching the videos man! From a fellow New Mexican your videos are appreciated. What part of NM are you from btw?
I’m in the east mountains! Appreciate the support and hope to see you around sometime
Let's go!!!!
Take out a gear box back in the day so easy now with the front wheel drive, shit drop the a frame all shit nowadays
It was only so difficult because it was never designed to Go into this chassis!
What turbo from ebay did you go with?
Honestly don’t remember, it was pretty much the cheapest one capable of 300-350hp lol
@@redlineranch. also, did you block off the stock FPR and go with the aftermarket one? Can’t remember if that was in the video.
Is this a a43d transmission?
Yes it is, a 4 speed made for 140hp with no torque converter lockup, it’s struggling to keep up
@@redlineranch. love the swap you did. Iv been fixing up a 1997 tacoma 2wd with the a43d transmission 250k and still going.
What is that weird sound? Never heard anything like ,
I believe it’s the pump internal to the transmission
