Yea thats what i am saying! Sadly we still had some more wiggle room to make more power. I could have added some octane booster from VP and made 300 easy but thats pushing its limits as a K20a3 with stock internals

Yup and sinformant is right on that. Dang Karen’s ruined my flow when they complained about the painting I was doing at the dead end on a back road I live on but I’ll get it done for sure.
That’s the most power I’ve seen on a stock a3 👍💪
I know someone made more power at one point but they don’t last long after 300whp unless they are built. But the stock k20a2 can make 400 easy all day

LOVE this build. Just some advice from a fellow DIYer. You can find a diesel truck shop that rebuilds clutches. I use one in Ennis, TX. They have done one for my B-series turbo build and my Mini Cooper build. I always have them do kevlar clutches for me, they rebuild the stock clutch with kevlar pads and new rivets. You just take them your clutch, flywheel and pressure plate so they can test the clutch once it is done. My Mini Cooper holds pretty well at 22psi with this clutch and it only cost me $350
You can really tell that 14psi is getting into turbo efficiency range. That manifold prob helps ALOT

Yea exactly! If I had a built bottom end I could have cranked the boost up more and made over 300

I was watching the new dipyourcar video and fonzie was was talking about how in the early days of youtube it was all fair, you make content that people liked and everyone would see it, nowadays there are tons of UA-camrs that have great videos with real things to show people that deserve views and subs but don't get them because it is all about the money and promotion.

I made over 480wjp on a stock k20a3 and ebay 35 at around 24psi. Went to 32-34 on the street. Shit ripped. K20a3 did work
Finally! 😜you need to find an a2 head. The vtec on the exhaust side should help the turbo spool up faster.
Yea with a stock k20a2 it could make 400 easy and safe. But I’ll get there eventually if God is willing.

Btw if it’s an a3 from the rsx base it has a k20a2 oil pump in it I’ve checked the numbers (Honda tech) which can handle 8k

Yes 100% stock inside I pulled it from the junkyard came off a stock automatic k20a3 rsx

I’m about to pick up this truck tomorrow, I have a kt1000 motor from 4Piston and a 6870 turbo I’m gonna be throwing into this, if you’re interested in following it let me know man, I’m gonna do crazy things with this
I’m pretty sure that intake manifold would fit a k24a2 with no problem but you can use the k20z1 z3 or a2 head but the k24a2 head flows better then your a3
But 7500 is safer which is the smart thing I would presume
Yes we are on the safer side plus the a3 has weaker rods that’s why we stopped there. The one in here is from a automatic rsx base model

Hey man the truck looks dope, I have a question and maybe I’m just new to the Honda k series but why do the swap with small amount of performance increase over stock? I’m not hating at all, I feel like I’m missing something
287hp is pretty much double anything that was offered in the Rangers. with the exception of the 4.0sohc which came in much later models. I wouldn't call that a 'small' amount of peformance. Now that aside this is a bone stock k20 running 12 psi. If he wanted to do some work in the head and up the boost he could be pushing 400+ on a stock bottom end. 287hp I'm sure makes the gutless ranger somewhat quick and fun to drive. and he could always go higher on the boost pressure if he wants more.

This is the “d series” of the k series engines of that makes sense and i am happy with it. I can get more and if God is willing I will 😁

Truck should move out making those numbers I had an extended cab with the 4.0 sohc and stock it was a high 14 second truck and those engines only make 210 hp and 250 tq at the crank
Ihad a scion tc that made 210 stock but the ecu only gave it that only after the 3rd wot. I put a sri and E85 and won my 1st vs "huh thats a buick?"
If u do k24 the k20 head is best way to go apparently so that works in ur favor . Pls i think that stock block can hold like 400hp b4 needing forged internals
Hi!!!! I'm thinking of a plain 2010 Ranger with the 4cyl - and considered putting a Honda K engine. Would this be possible without the turbos and with an automatic transmission?

Adding a turbo to an engine that wasn’t designed for a turbo will burn up the engine quickly bc the internal cooling system wasn’t designed for all the heat that comes with the turbo.
You’re asking for trouble.
You really have no clue what you are talking about lol, turbos can cool charge temps and increase scavenging causing a cooler combustion all the way around lol

🤣🤣🤣🤣 people have been throwing turbos on stock engines since forever and they live and die from the tune, even engines designed for turbos have been “burned up” due to tuning errors, wiring or fuel issues so that statement is all kinds of wrong. Not sure what internal cooling system you are referring to but oil heat is transferred to the coolant system but an external oil cooler is a simple add on to cure any excessive oil temps.

287 on an A3 isnt bad at all man. Rods start going past 300. He could swap an A2 head and cam and make more power on the same setup, but will have to go with forged rods once he does that since the A3 rods are weak compared to the A2
