"We have a secret weapon - Aladino". Absolutely, a master craftsman! And coupled with a master videographer and musician - Maya! A winning combination, love your work guys!
Beat me to it
Exactly... well said my friend!
Agreed!
A magic couple for two Magic Carpet.
Yes this is a great time for young people to be alive if they have compatible skills
I watch in absolute amazement as you two, artists, and craftsmen, perform a waltz of love on this beauty of an old boat. It is obvious that you love what you do, you love this "ole -gal-of-the-sea", and you love sharing your passions into the hearts of many. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you so much Neil, we're so appreciative that you're here on the journey with us!
Excellent! You two are setting new high standards for quality education, entertainment, and subject matter for those of us who appreciate “The Real” in reality UA-cam sailing videos. Thank you.
I love watching you two work as one. I'm 68 years old and have never found it in my life, but I fully believe that there is nothing that a man and a woman working together can't accomplish. I have been watching you guys for a long time. It started with the violin music. I'm so glad I found you. Please keep the videos coming.
The incredible amount of patience you guys have to not cut corners along the way is truly inspiring!
Yep this is one of the most impressive things... same with Mads on Sail Life. Whilst I'd love to try this, and am in awe of them, I know that I even cut corners replacing the transom on my 12ft wooden dinghy! Plus I only watched this 17 min re-cap rather than all the other episodes so I think I have to accept I'm one of life's bodgers!
Awesome great to see a couple living their dreams and working together to achieve those dreams, well done guys.
Love the epic music, I'm really looking forwards to this project continuing...
Aladino..
You Are an absoloutely magician.
A craftsman, if ever there were one.
These are the type of video's that should be used in schools to show all of what can be accomplished in your. Not just your parents narrative but all that is out there and above the kindness and love shown between these 2 beautiful people. I am truly humbled to embrace you. Man have your kids got a wonderful life ahead of them. God Bless you both all the best for 22.
I love watching Aladino work it's always a good reminder while doing my own refit, to slow down, don't rush and do it right!
Thanks Aladino!
Great work! Who doesn't like days of hard work squeezed into minutes.
I love it when you said "we were out of money but we have Aladino"! That was the truth! I have enjoyed watching him work these last few months and look forward to more! Be safe in the Netherlands!
Hi, guys. Firstly, I have to tell you that I adore you. You are beyond the ordinary sweet, polite, very good, with uncommon skills. On top of that, you are both beautiful!
I've been following you for a long time and I missed your videos and from now on I will start watching them again every week. I am Italian, from beautiful Sardinia, but I live the winters in my home in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where the climate is always very mild. Summer and autumn I usually spend it in Sardinia where my relatives and my dearest memories live. I love you all!
Extra extra EXTRA big thanks for this beautiful and inspiring season!
Looking forward to the next adventure, I'll be waiting on you guys. See you soon and have a safe journey 🙂
Thank you, guys, for the inspiration, the education, and the tireless hours of videography and editing. What a fantastic job you're doing, in every way. Looking forward to the ongoing adventure! And thank you for making this special recap episode. What an amazing journey!

A great completion of many tasks with many great videos documenting a lot of the craftsmanship (WORK)...My very heart felt thanks for the last few years of videos...watched it all and really look forward to your return to Magic Carpet and its final refit with videos of course!!
I love watching the transformation of a total rebuild of sailboat.there are numerous sailing channels on UA-cam that I’ve watched turn their boats back into a beautiful boat.but you two take it to another level!! watching a true shipwright do it is amazing.can’t wait for you to get back to continue this amazing undertaking!!⛵️
I have loved every single episode cant wait to see your return to pick up the great work again much love to you both
Real treat! Maya, thanks for the wonderful sound track - it fit beautifully!
What a wonderful work you have done so far guys!!! I admire your patience and passion for what has to be done! And of course, I always love watching you! Many thanks for the journey!!!
I'm looking forward to your return to complete the boat. She looks amazing so far. Thanks for the great videos.
You both have done a great job thus far on his refit. It's sure is looking Good. Wow you really have come a long way with this refit. What I like about Alidino's work is that he is thought out, and through and you both make sure things are done to perfection. You' both are going to have a wonderful vessel when its all said and done and it will be worth all the labor and inconveniences that have come your way through this refit. cheers guys. Wish you a great new year to come.
so much progress in just 6 months. Congrats you two, its looking so great.
Excellent compilation of your refit journey. I believe everyone appreciates a plan coming to fruition. Y'all are definitely artisans in your own right. I hope you are able to chill and recharge in the Netherlands. Thank you for sharing 🖖
Aladino, your craftsmanship and attention to detail is phenomenal! You two work so well together! Yet another inspirational episode! Thank you for sharing your journey. ♥️✌🏼⛵️
A wonderful summation of the work done on MC2 so far. I’ve enjoyed the work and the charming way you both complement one another. I’m sure your European adventures will be just as interesting.
What a great job you are doing! I wish my dad was still here to watch these videos of your rebuild. He would have loved every minute of this as this is what he did. Carry on! You will get there and have one fine yacht when you do!
Aladino...you sir are a craftsman, amazing skills. Love seeing your work and your an inspiration to all those who want to follow your footsteps.
I missed this episode,so glad I came across it. I always admire how competent both of you are at the work that you do both onboard Magic Carpet II and with your excellent editing of your videos, thank you very much for sharing.
Great summary of all the hard work and of all the Sailing Channels I subscribe to on You Tube yours is by far the most educational. I worked in Schonried near Gstaad one winter in the seventies and your work epitomizes the Swiss ethic for work and I never forgot it in my long hospitality career. Good luck with the visa stuff and look forward to seeing the next chapter with 'Magic Carpet'. Amazing to watch craftsmen at work.
Wow! This is the highest level of craftsmanship I have ever seen applied to a sailboat, bar none. Congratulations on a spectacular project and well-produced documentation of the process. Liked and subscribed!
You are both amazing, meticoulous, skilled people. What a beautiful job you are doing. Thank you for the great videos.
Great adenture, beautiful work, both on the boat and the videos! Thanks!
What an awesome production, the excitement built into this episode is something else. Congratulations both of you on your incredible achievements.
Hi Maya and Aladino, Without a doubt, your efforts are an inspiration to all with passion and drive to create.
All the best and many thanks for sharing the journey.
Fantastic work, such high quality repair work, and then the video work, and editing itself, with the narration is just superb. Thank you
Good cast, great music, decent wardrobe, amazing editing and directing. Absolutely love your channel. You guys are such an inspiration! Keep up the good work.
You two are amazing!!! Matthew' s comment says it all for me. Maya and Aladino, WELL DONE!!
Amazing job of both of you so far. Keep up your high quality in boat work and vloging as well. An extra thank you to your host in Kanada. Your work is much appreciated. Save trip to Europe and Gruezi
Great progress and quality work laced with excellent narration and music! Thanks for sharing Mike
I am properly AMAZED at Aladino's craftmanship and all the incredible work you guys have done so far. WOW!!!
Very impressive work. I stumbled upon this video due to UA-cam knowing I would like it. Your project would make it the third sailboat rescue I would currently be watching on youtube. I was immediately impressed with your attention to detail along with doing it the right way, ie, no cutting corners. Happy trails/currents.
This is a wonderfully produced video on a fascinating project. Thank you for all your work on this !
Thank you for this magic episode. So much work done already... And so much work to come. What a great adventure. 👍
It’s looking sooo good. It’s definitely getting there. And what a strong, seaworthy vessel. 😍🤘
Can’t wait to see the progress and completion of the boat. All tho a boat is never finished but you gets my drift I guess. I’m sure this will be one of the most beautiful boats I have ever seen in my life.
Thank you for sharing.
WOW ! We're absolutely amazed after coming across Sailing Magic Carpet and it's intrepid Owners this morning. We'll be sure to keep track of your progress on the Refit and the Adventure to come.
respect for all your love and great work you put into your sailboat, it’s a hell of a job I know already 3 years now refitting our CT~41 Taiwan clipper in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 good luck with the rest of the work✌️
It was great to relive the boat building progress of the last 6 months. Well done guys and I hope these next few months are one of rest and re energize yourselves.
Aladino rules, as a secret weapon or not - fantastic what you achieved on MC2, big 👏🏻 and thank you for taking us on this journey.
That was a great recap! What great love and care you've put into her so far. She's going to be magnificent! I think you guys deserve a break though so seeing you sail again will be a nice change for a while 😁
Seriously - Ditto on all that was written before!! What an inspiration and joy to get to watch two young knowledgeable people with so much passion to rebuild this boat. It's going to be a beauty. I commend you both for all that you're going through on this journey!
Utterly amazing episode. Your perfectionism is extraordinary!
amazing how Aladino tears things up and then rebuilds with craftsmanship. Thanks to you Maya, we can all enjoy the journey!
A Winning Team! Incredible journey, thanks for sharing.
I have always loved these boats and you have both done it proud! Great job and great video. I am too old for these adventures now, but it does take me back to the years of fixing up boats for a voyage. Beautiful work well executed.
Wow guys, this boat will be better than it was brand new. I love the craftsmanship and precision you both put into this huge overhaul. Great job! ❤️❤️❤️
Just discovered your channel. Wow I believe you could have bought a new one for this much work. You have done a glorious job! Your friend must know everything about boat. You are so blessed! I pray it’s not too long before you can get started again. Be Well & safe!!
The refit of the bow is absolutely beautiful. You are right...your secret weapon is Aladino. But your videography and music are pure joy. Good luck and hurry back to the states.
Excellent summary. Liked the look back on the project so far.
Un boulot fantastique maîtrisé parfaitement, c'est un plaisir de vous voir chaque semaine !
Bravo et vivement la semaine prochaine 😉
Wow you two have done very well in 6 mths considering the high quality standard of job & an eye for procession in detail.
Your work is so clean and organized. It's amazing!
UA-cam fed me this video about a week ago and I instantly got hooked! I rolled back until episode one of season 4 and devoured every episode. Now, here I am back at this video, watching it again but with tears up my eyes! What a beauty you are creating, and I'm talking about both the boat and your channel. How awesome you guys are! Thank you for not cutting corners for the sake of getting faster results knowing that your end product wouldn't be exactly as good. This is truly inspiring for my own hobbies as I tend to do this too much.
Absolutely beautiful. 👌🏼 A labour of love in its truest sense. Thank you for sharing.
Respect, respect, respect! It's satisfying to see you renovating this beautiful blue water boat! Hope to see some more beautiful episodes around the Ijsselmeer. maybe we'll see the Magic Carpet there on the water. Greetings from Holland!
What a delight it is to see expert, considered craftmanship, documented and presented so wonderfully. I think of the philosphical, inspirational mentor Miguel, who passed on to Aladino his sailing passion and more. Aladino and Maya have worked hard to build on their gifts and dreams.
Amazing story, keep them coming. I'm currently rebuilding a boat built almost identical to this. Shes an old Morgan 33 OI which was in a fire and now has a completely hand built wooden deck. Watching you two gives me more inspiration.
Dang it Magic Carpet.. you make me want to build a boat. I didn't even know that was something I would want to do. Well done and see you next time!
Thanks for sharing this amazing story! Very inspiring.
Great retrospective. I especially liked the recap of the beginning, seeing it for the first time after so long dreaming about it.
What an amazing story, and such descrpitive and artistic footage as well! I can’t wait to see your boat hit the water!
Artisan craftsmanship lives!
Superb teamwork.
I have a big respect for you both. It looks like a huge project.
Now that's a perfectly satisfying compilation. All the best. Thx for the adventure.
Your videography skills are absolutely amazing and Aladino’s mastery of his carpenter skills and his instructors most be amazed with their student who has become a true master crafter ⛵️⛵️🥰
This is one of the most amazing rebuilds (not a refit) I've seen on UA-cam. I spent 2 years refitting a 50' MY, but I had many helping me and nowhere near as much to do. . You two are doing this by yourselves, and Aladino has proven himself to now be a master boat builder. Wait until you finally set sail around the world, all accomplished by your own hands, know how and ingenuity. Bravo!
Omg mad craftsmanship skills and design work! Sooooooo beautiful!
New to this great adventure and I REALLY LOVED IT ! You are amazing!!!!!!
Susan & Tony here, We had Seen your first video with the new boat. but missed the rest until this video came up. we are vary impressed with your level of skill. I "Tony" am a skilled tradesman and I can see all the care and hard work you are doing. We look forward to your return here state side. Safe travels!
I watched several in this boat series and one thing I'm very impressed with is Aladino's precision and desire for perfection in his wood working. What craftmanship. Stunning work. Always like it when you two are discussing alternatives and he says to you something to the effect, "Yes, it would probably work but it wouldn't be according to the book". It's going to done right or not at all is his strategy.
G'day Crew,,
So excited to see the work start up again in 2022,
With some really interesting work just ahead,,,
the next few upcomming episodes are guaranteed to be a real treat for the faithfull...
Bring it on
Alidino....!!!

While watching the ongoing process of re-furbishing this boat are interesting to watch (along with your expert narration), I'm looking forward (as the two of you are) to its relaunch. Your previous travel log "ish" posts from MC #1 where magical and I hope you do the same with MC #2.
m an airline pilot, people walk in the cockpit and are never short of amazed of how many buttons we have to operate to fly such (apparently) complicated machines. And then I watch your 6 months of work and all of those buttons seem like a toddlers game. Congratulations on the amazing craftsmanship, planning and putting it all together so that we can all watch and be amazed at your work!
What a beautiful vessel. She must have great seakeeping abilities with lines.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Lot's of precision work here.
as I can't get enough of one video a week and one live blog update a week on Patreon, I keep coming back to this video every few weeks. The one video that got me hooked! You guys are awesome ✨
Oh that's so nice to hear Alex, thank you!!
Thanks for this summary : great for dreamer-, aspiring- or actual - boatbuilder students’ revision!
I admire the strategy , de dedication on what you do... by chosing the kind of boat that suit your skills to shine, create amazing content, and have a boat that is a piece of art. congratulations
Brilliant summary of six months of great work by both of you!!!
Wow, that is some serious woodwork and craftmanship!
Amazingly talented, perfect partners.
Both of you are an inspiration to anyone who has a dream of achieving something great.
You guys are awesome. Also, you are pushing the outside of the cuteness envelope. Go and come back!!
No one can ever accuse you of being lazy! Having done some boat building myself, I'm always in awe of your skills, work ethic, and great adventures! Thanks so much for letting us watch.
Amazing! Love the Cape George 36.
I know how much work is involved, but occasionally watching your progress is an inspiration to other boat builders to be as meticulous - besides which, your life depends on it! I once built an endurance 37 from scratch in Wales. It took me eight years. Good luck!
