    I really do love the look and feel of these small macbooks, but I'm not sure its worth the trade off. This is unnecessarily complicated.

    Bad idea to open IPD flex cable with what looks like a metallic tweezer, while battery is still connected to the logicboard. Why not use your finger nails? Faster and more convenient. or use any non-conductive device. Do you agree that was a bad safety risk?

    My MacBook Pro 13" early 2015 will be my last MacBook, I will never buy again these complicated machine. Apple has become astute in making them complicated so maintenance has to do them.
    This is pathetically unfair..🤦🏻‍♂️

    please disconnect the battery (that large screw at the top) and insert an insulator between the battery and the motherboard BEFORE removing any cables and connectors otherwise damage to the board is a strong possibility, disconnecting cables while the mac is still connected to the battery is very dangerous

    Not until halfway through does the logic board get removed from the battery. In every repair, I have ever done and researched, that's Step 1. I followed exact same steps and was careful not to touch the board or drop screws on it. Replaced display. Reassembled. Now, nothing. No power, sound, start, lights. Dead. Please advise.

      Lux Munky I have a similar problem after replacing the logic board. Turned off the battery, replaced the board, now not getting any sign of life except the light next to the battery disconnect does come on when AC was plugged in. Tried an SMC reset too. Did you figure it out?

    He looks dangerous with them tweezers stabbing at the keyboard cable and failed to unlock the track pad ribbon with them then picking the cable off the audio board with them, I have a apple repair business and we don't use tweezers for anything, it's so easy to slip and knock components off the board 🙁

    Great video, my MacBook late 2016 experiences some SSD problem, if I started it when the power cord is plugged - the system doesn't see SSD disk. So as I understand only one way how to fix it - replace the logic board.
    But I totally tangled in their spare numbers on your site, which a motherboard I should choose? 661-04730, 661-04733, 661-04737 or 661-04738
    And what are the differences between them?

    • @PowerbookMedic
      @PowerbookMedic  6 років тому +1

      661-04730, 661-04733 are the same part which is a 1.2GHZ board ... 661-04737 or 661-04738 are the same parts but the 1.3GHZ version. You can use both.

      Not for any A1534 model, just the same model year as the one you have...in this case late 2016. If you choose from the same model year you can swap boards.

    Is there a specific sequence or reset to get it working. I reassembled and it asks for mouse/keyboard on boot. wont show any progress in the empty progress bar on boot! So annoyed.
