My driver door wouldnt open,I did have to watch the video a few times,(no audio) but thanks for uploading,,after I found the lock it was easy,so far no problems.
Here are some specific instructions. (a) Remove the screw behind the door handle by flipping open the screw cover (it's hinged). You will eventually be able to remove the handle access panel if you wish. (b) Remove the door arm rest screw at the bottom of the handle-grab. It's theoretically possible to remove the screw on the latch side of the door, but it's easier at a later step. You can't remove the screw behind the dash without damaging the panel, the screw, or the screw mount, or all three. (c) Gently pull the door panel until the christmas-tree plugs start coming loose. There are two on top and two down the latch side of the door. Now is when you can get at that latch side screw. Be careful or you'll break the mount the screw threads into. (d) Pulling the panel away from the door, you'll see a dust lining held on with a black tar goo. I found a sharp knife to be invaluable for separating the goo (don't cut the dust lining!). You'll need to separate the lining from the goo along the entire top and at least a third down the latch side of the door. (e) At this point you can use a flashlight to see the lock actuator. Indeed, the entire process is easy from this point and the photo of the actuator in the video is very helpful (even if everything else isn't). Note that locked is DOWN and unlocked is UP. I prefer a silicon lubricant to WD-40, which is a penetrating oil and not actually a hydrocarbon lubricant at all. It's a vegetable oil that will gum up when dust comes in contact with it. Unlock door, grease the works, reassemble, drink your favorite drink, and be thankful this stunt works 'cause the alternative really stinks. Cheers.
**This trick may work if u have no broken rods or handles**** If your doors will Not open,but it seems the lock/unlock buttons work,and the key seems to lock/unlock the door,handles seem tight,like no rods are broken,it may be a free fix..if u do it yourself,(garage will charge $80 per latch,plus labor,almost $150 per door to fix this,this fix does NOT require a new latch) The panels CAN be taken off with the door closed,once you can see inside the door,look at the LATCH itself,(photos of it is in the video),you will see a brass plate the thickness of a nickle,,press unlock/lock button,,this plate will bump up,down,unlock/lock.. Once you find this plate,and see its moving,,,take a flat head screw driver and push the plate down,like u want to push this plate down more,,if its in the up position it should click down,,,then press the unlock/lock button to get it in the up position,,, Once it moves UP,take the edge of the screw driver and push it up more,,,it should give close to 1/8 of a inch...... The door should OPEN... Do not pry hard on this plate,it should move easy,up down,you are locking/unlocking the door by hand instead of buttons or key. These Latches sometimes Do Not Fully Unlock....Pretty much you can unlock it by hand and for some reason it starts working like it should,,I did the back glass,hatch,and two doors,they still work great. Darkwoods hey thanks for the replay im having problems with the back seat right door when i press the unlock and lock bottom its make the sound like its working but for some reason the door do not open if ti helps its only one door thanks for replaying men this means a lot take care you too!!
frito00pr if u can pop the door cover off,should only be 2 screws holding it,and pull the cover at the edges,(careful of the plastic clips) it should pop right off,you should see the rod that locks and unlocks the door,,push pull it the door may unlock.

A cheap plastic part in the right rear passenger door actuator system broke, locking the door from both sides. The hardest part was unlocking the door from inside by removing the plastic paneling and pulling the release, which was broken and uncooperative. Five minutes of up and down jiggling, finally the door opened. Ford wanted $250 for the whole system. I'm near a yard, so dropped over, grabbed one from an XLT, installed it, door opens again.
Jason Bell MY dads 2002 ford escape has the front passenger door that wont open from either side, its like the outside handle doesnt grab anything when u pull it. not sure if thats what the handle on your vehicle felt like. but i will look into this fix.. i love that vehicle but it came with a rediculous amount of bugs/issues. we are the only owners that vehicle has ever had. it has the Overdrive light on and flicker, the air bag light has a flicker too when you turn it on, some windows dont go back up, passenger door locked completly, power lock issue with back door/ sometimes wont open sometimes wont lock. same for back window.
I have a similar problem but the doors open just fine. If I press the lock button on the fob or drivers switch all doors/tailgate lock as expected, but unlock does not work so I have to manually unlock the doors/liftgate which is a pain in the ass. I can't find anything about a power door lock relay or anything so I'm thinking maybe the drivers master switch is bad?
my locks didnt unlock 100% on 2 doors,(Passenger side),looked unlocked but after removing the panels the lock didnt release all the way,oiled them up so far so good. Uploaded another video today showing how to get panel off if door doesnt open. Trunk was a pain, i may do a video on that..It works now 90% of the time before not at all.Good luck.
I found out the central electric box is the culprit. Bought a used one on ebay but it wasn't the exact same part number but it did fix the power lock issue, but introduced new issues like no rear wiper functionality. Gotta find a good deal on the right part number central junction/electric box and then i'll be set
loose at the door or seems loose at the hinge? If its at the door could be a loose nut that keeps handle snug to door..If it feels like the 'hinge' is loose could be plastic bushing worn out. U can get handles at junk yards if u pull them for cheap.
@@aaronbilicki1820 Drop the door panel off and peel back the liner (plastic) and look to see if the rods are tight and still connected. Could be a loose rod for the handle, and look for wear at the joints where the rods meet the plastic clips at the inner handle.. Good luck I hope its a easy fix.
@@aaronbilicki1820 was the handle loose at any joints when u took it off? Near me junkyard parts r cheap, u can take one off n just look, maybe get lucky n see what the difference b4 buying one, hope it is simple fix, the simple things kick my azz, just something i over look.. Good luck.
Everyone of these fucking videos shows a Ford a scape door that is already OPEN... I haven't seen one yet that explains how to open the door with the door stuck CLOSED you can't take apart the door with the door shut
Just posted a video showing how to get door panel apart, 90% at least,,,, with door still closed,,I had a lot of people email me this question, I hope it helps or gets u closer to your problem,,I oiled mine and worked the switch up down by hand a few times and I had no other problems with them since. He shows you every screw --- but never shows how he got the two screws out that can't be accessed until after the door is open. I'm assuming the audio, had it worked, explained that you can only take the door handle and pull slot screws out and must then pop the christmas tree plugs such that you can get your hand down in there and blindly find that brassy piece of latch metal (which you can only see after the door is open). Yes, the video helped, and I've found numerous people on the 'net who claimed to have made this work. I'll be trying it myself shortly, but frankly, this video would have been much better had the poster shown how he did this with the door closed. Don't like my complaint? Move to Russia where freedom of speech has been taken away.

Hinge but it happened same time as couldn't open or if it broke won't it open inner one seem to work just not unhook
