  • Recent studies have shown that 43% of women and 31% of men report experiencing some degree of sexual issues. Difficulties with sex can be short- or long-lasting and can be initiated or increased by stress, medical conditions, genetics, and hormones. They include a wide range of challenges such as, but not limited to:
    • Struggling to become aroused.
    • Struggling to experience an orgasm.
    • Experiencing high levels of pain or discomfort.
    • Experiencing high levels of stress or anxiety.
    • Avoiding sex due to fear, anxiety, or low self-esteem.
While these sexual issues and more are common in the general population, survivors of child sexual abuse may experience additional challenges as a result of childhood trauma. Many survivors of child sexual abuse struggle with feelings of inadequacy or shame surrounding sexuality. You are not alone.
At Saprea, we liberate individuals and society from child sexual abuse and its lasting impacts. We have services that help child sexual abuse survivors find healing from the traumatic effects that have often followed them into adulthood, as well as resources for parents and caregivers to learn how to lower the risk of child sexual abuse in their own homes and communities.
